Location was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good
Noise from road. Big vehicles using road outside during the night and municipal big bins being emptied at around midnight.

The staff was excellent--very friendly, helpful and cheerful. A young lady named Sara was outstanding and did everything she could to help make our stay a success. The location was good and the breakfast was generous.
The design of the room was ridiculous. There was no place to sit--one small chair; and absolutely no place to put your luggage. The closet were small and had those hangers that are designed to be impractical to steal but the bars were very high and very difficult to use. The lighting everywhere was difficult and shadowy. The lighting around the mirror in the bathroom was glary and misdirected--very difficult to see. The toilet was not private with a glass door and no door to the actual room. We had a huge terrace and only a tiny table and two folding chairs. It was called the Cinema Room and the decorations were upside down. Whoever designed the room did not know what they were doing.

Fabulous concept and amazing features throughout. The staff were exceptional and the room exquisite. Lots of extra touches e.g. fridge, kettle, selection of teas/coffees…and a personalised bar of chocolate! Delicious breakfast included.

We liked the helpful staff and the revised way of doing breakfast since our last visit was good
We did not have our room cleaned even though we left the Notice on the door and the cleaning trolley was outside. We went to breakfast and then were out all morning. There is no Mini Bar anymore and the kettle cannot fit under the tap so you have to use a glass to fill it & there was no milk. Only one small bottle of water provided for 2 people

The hotel is in a great location and it is very clean. The chocolate theme was cute.

We stayed in Chocolate Fabric during our summer holiday and we really enjoyed our stay. Really good breakfast, great rooms with nice bathrooms and super helpful staff. Big bonus is good drinking water, no need for hauling plastic water bottles around. Coming from Nordics we really enjoyed nice AC cooling in otherwise hot Portugal summer. We stayed 10 days and there is DIY-laundry place around the corner (in case you need washing e.g. hiking gear). Viana do Castello has great crossfit gym, which I highly recommend and great kitesurfing possibilities.

Location a few minutes walk from town centre.
Helpful receptionist who assisted us in looking for restaurant.
Breakfast was very good with good choice of items and good cofffees / juice.
The town is very quiet and seems to be a bit run down and empty.
Hotel is very pleasant to but seems to probably have not been invested in due to Covid so although very clean rooms the hotel is getting slightly dated.
