Our stay was both relaxing and fun. The home is perfectly located on the beach. Lizette was very attentive as well.

The property is exactly as advertised and the owners, Lizette and Gino, are real pros. They greeted us as you would greet a family member and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. This property has the most relaxing atmosphere of any of our past rentals. The building amenities are great and the beach is at your doorstep. The neigboring town has lots of great eating places but if you want to cook the kitchen has all the necessary tools. A gentleman stopped by our beach house one day selling shrimps, lobster etc. We had no spices but we did have some butter and tossed a mess of prawns into a fry pan with some butter. Heavenly. We loved the place.

We had an excellent two-week stay at Casa Huul Kin. The house is exactly what we were looking for-in front of a beautiful beach with a very comfortable bed and a wonderful Mayan Pool! We loved having breakfast each morning on the patio facing the ocean! Lizette is also true professional-she communicated above average from the time we booked, to the time that we were in the house, right through to checkout. What is more, Lizette and her husband Gino are kind and warm people. We will be back and we are truly grateful for how we were treated and with the fact that the house was everything it was billed to be! Thank you Lizette! 🤗 George and Dana!!

Out of the 5 different rental properties we have stayed at in this area. This is by far the best property. Beautiful. Pictures do not do it justice!

The Casa is lovely, great patio to sit and watch the ocean and drink morning coffee. The palapa and front seating area great for breezy afternoons. Pool is lovely, cool in January but very nice as the temperatures climb. Lizette and Gino and family made us feel very welcome and were attentive to any small problems that arose. They also accommodated to sets of additional family guests. We are booked to come back next year. Very relaxing vacation, we had a wonderful time.

The moment we arrived at Casa Huul Kiin, we were met by Lizette and Gino, who took the time to give us a great tour of this wonderful place. We felt like it was "our" place for 12 great days. A basket of fresh fruit and beverages awaited us. Along with a nice booklet, thoughtfully written out, with places to go and eat at. A really nice touch for Americans like us. The town of Chelem is a very friendly and we felt very safe. The Yucatan in general is a great experience. We logged almost 1800 km on our rental car exploring it. Always coming home to a wonderful Sunset, the sound of waves crashing on the beach and, a cool breeze. On the few days we were too tired to explore, we took advantage of the very nice beach and Mayan pool. My favorite spot was the big hammock outside. My Wife, Peggy would read her book while gazing out at the beautiful water. Then a trip into Chelem for supper. I loved the Pescado Frito (fried fish) and ate it often. We even cooked fresh seafood brought up from Campeche, a couple of times. Another sweet thing lizette arranged for us. The seafood was very fresh and very well priced. Speaking of Lizette and Gino, on the few times we needed to reach them, all we had to do was text them. A response was usually the same hour, if not instant. My advice on this area is, take it all in !! The Mayan ruins, the Spanish missions, the market section in Merida on Sunday, the Choco Story museum in Xucmal and, so many more places. Enter this fascinating area of Mexico with a sense of adventure and patience. Life here is slower and the roads are sometimes not very well marked. But, that is what vacation memories are made of. Casa Huul Kiin is amazing. This is our second time there and we loved it just as much. Lizette and Gino are wonderful owners who treat you like you are family. We love our time there and enjoy the ocean so much. We are always sad to leave. We will be back someday!

Lizette and Gino are the best hosts we've had yet after many years of renting vacation homes!! Beautiful, kind and friendly people ready to help with any issue. Very welcoming! The house itself is extremely well equipped, better than most we've stayed at with things like electric juicer, blender, lots of food storage containers and proper cooking utensils. Many places have only the basics but this kitchen was excellent. Yes, as many have said there is quite low water pressure but I'm certain that is the infrastructure in the area NOT the house. Home owners can only do so much. The property is incredibly quiet for the most part, the first weekend we were there was a long weekend and a number of families came into the surrounding homes most of which were empty through the weekdays. Even so, nothing coming even close to crowded by any means, you just lose a bit of the extreme quiet. The beach and the water here were lovely and clean. I was not fond of the fact that it was almost constantly windy but that is the case on many Caribbean coasts and the reason it is comfortable at night without air conditioning. The house is very nicely equipped in terms of security (though I felt the entire area very, very safe). The surrounding area was mainly quiet and not too hard to find groceries etc. with a rental car. There were some restaurants we found on Google that when we went there, they were not open (even though Google said they were ), we gathered that since this area is 'cottage country' for people who live inland, and mainly is occupied in July and August, things are very quiet during the winter. (note: BEST restaurant in the area - Crabster in Progresso, we went there about 4 times as it was heads and tails above the rest. ) Overall, we were very pleased, the house, beach, yard, pool, furniture, linens.... everything was lovely and very good value. Lizette and Gino, thanks so much for your hospitality!

This place was very nice to live. Clean with enough scare footage for four persons. The beach is mostly private and very quiet. Having breackfast on the beach .... Feel safe al the time ! Need improuvement on guest room bed and water pressure in the house. Owners were there for any needs, directions, restaurants infos .... Will come back soon if possible ! Bernard et Louise

We were fortunate enough to stay at this beautiful home at the beginning of December. From the start my communications with the owner Lizette were exceptional. She always responded expediently to my questions and concerns and kept me up to date when she was on Holiday and might not be able to get back to me in an expedient manner (she always did). On our day of arrival, we were 1 hour early. Not a problem for Lizette and Gino who were just wonderful hosts. On our day of departure Lizette what right on time to see us off and in between she was always available to help with any question. She also offered great advice on where to eat and what to see in the area. Huul Kiin is a beautiful property. It is well equipped for all of your daily needs. The internet worked flawlessly, very important to us. We spent most of our time on the veranda overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. At this time of year, we saw very few people on the beach and felt like we had it all to ourselves. We spent time watching the pelicans and at night gazing at the stars. We had a rental car and it was only a few minutes to Centro for Restaurants and Shopping. The property was extremely clean and well cared for which made for a very comfortable stay which was not nearly long enough. Lizzette has a wonderful sense of style and it shows in the furnishings and decoration. The pool area was beautiful, unfortunately the water was to chilly for us this time of the year, but it was beautiful to look at……. I would not hesitate to recommend this property if you are looking for a quiet, laid back vacation, with the convenience of Centro a few minutes by car and all there is to see and do in the in this area. We will be back to the Chelem area and Huul Kiin. Thank You Lizette and Gino and hope to see you in 2018.

We just spent 8 days at Casa Huul Kiin and loved it. The house is charming and comfortable. The beach is beautiful, serene, and tranquil. The owners are warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. Rolling out of bed each morning… first things first, the bathing suits are on and we are walking through soft sand for our morning swim in the wonderfully warm, emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico! We just arrived back home after three fantastic weeks at Casa Huul Kiin and we are already missing the beach, the house, the ambiance and the Yucatan! Every single day we swam in the warm gulf waters and the pool, sat on the chaise lounges with a cool drink, enjoyed the wonderful view and the breezes, relaxed and enjoyed our time together in Mexico! A fabulous time provided by two of the kindest, most wonderful people you could ever meet and who genuinely care about their guests. We took several day trips to explore all that the Yucatan has to offer including Chichén Itzá to see the Mayan ruins, Telchac Puerto (a quiet coastal fishing village), Izamal (the pale yellow buildings, historic cathedral and the Kinich Kakmó pyramid), Celestún (flamingos, mangroves), Mérida (several times for shopping and dining), there's just so much to see and do in this part of Mexico! The absolute best part of renting this home was getting to meet and know the owners, Lizette and Gino! Lizette is an absolute sweetheart! Other reviewers have made similar comments but we just can't say enough about them because we know how important this is to most renters. If you are reading this, wondering if this is a good rental, wonder no more...! You cannot go wrong renting this home or any of their other beach properties! We highly recommend this property and our gracious hosts and we will definitely be back to spend more time in the Yucatan! Lizette and Gino are amazing!

My husband and I recently spent a week in Casa Huul Kiin. We just fell in love with the town and all of its people. The Casa Huul Kiin was like our own little paradise. The location on the beach was spectacular ! The mayan pool was wonderful to cool off during the hot and tropical weather . The house was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed to feel right at home. We also loved Lisette & Gino. They are such wonderful caring people and welcomed us with open arms. We would recommend this to anyone !

We have just returned from our home away from home after a very relaxing stay at Casa Huul Kiin. Gino and Lizette welcomed us with open arms and friendly greetings as always. Their home has been a special treat for us over the past 4 years. Our Black Lab is always happy to be back and swim in the warms waters of the Yucatan. We have truly enjoyed spending time in their home with all the amenities. There was always a place to sit and enjoy the weather, being either the beach, back deck, front pool area or the view from the palapa. There are so many sites to see in the area, your time will be quickly filled. Thank you Lizette and Gino for your friendship and kind hospitality over these past four years.

Four of us stayed for two weeks the last half of February. The house is clean, beautiful and well equipped, beds are comfortable. The house is located the perfect distance from chelem centro. Relaxing pool and palapa in the front yard to sit and enjoy the evening. If your looking for a peaceful and relaxing time, look no further. Perfect for four people. Lizette and Gino are excellent hosts and were extremely helpful from the time we landed, until the sad day we left. They are very proud of their beautiful home and beautiful country. Huul Kinn is a very clean and well designed house. It is situated in a good area where there are other very nice homes on the beach. The beach in front of the house was one of the best in the Chelem and Chuburna area - great for taking long walks and for swimming. The many friendly people in the area also helped make our stay very pleasant. Lizette, who speaks very good English, was a very caring and good host.

We stayed at Casa Hull Kiin for two weeks and loved every minute. We flew into Cancun and drove with a rental car to Chelem. A long but easy drive. The beach house was great, exactly like the pictures. Lizette met us at the house with warm greetings and wine and went over the basics. The house was well equipped, everything we needed was there hairdryer, iron etc. The beach and pool were perfect. We spent many a morning/evening on the front terrace watching the sun rise and set. We cooked a lot and found everything we needed as far as cookware, dishes and cutlery. Chelem is well located and we explored the area extensively. Dzibilchaltun, Ek-Balam, Izamal, Hacienda Yaxcopoil, Valladolid, Uxmal and Merida were all an easy drive away. We found groceries in Progreso and Merida. We are vegetarians and thought we might find it a challenge but we found food at some of the local restaurants (check out the Bistro Masaai Maya's pizza) and lots of food at grocery stores to cook ourselves. Lizette was very helpful through the whole process, booking, directions, check-in/out etc. She also provided a great list of local attractions to help plan our visit. We would definitely stay at this rental again it was a great value and was perfect place for our vacation.

My husband and I (from San Diego) flew into Merida and rented a car. We made the easy trip from the airport to Casa Huul Kiin--Lizette's directions were very helpful. Once we arrived at the property, Lizette and Gino were there to greet us (with a bottle of wine and local fruits). They welcomed us to their beautiful property. They are such a nice and friendly couple! They gave us a tour of the property and also gave us lots of information and suggestions about places to go. The property is EXACTLY like the photos. It is right on the beach. The interior is nicely designed and was clean, and the house is very well-equipped. The pool and palapa are gorgeous. We were so happy and excited when we arrived to this beautiful oasis! Often times, places are not exactly as they appear in the photos, but this house was even beyond what we were expecting! The beach in front of the house was the perfect getaway for us. It was quiet and the water was beautiful for swimming. A local fisherman drove by the property each day to offer us freshly-caught fish for sale at a cheap price. We loved staying in Chelem because it was so quiet and relaxing, yet with our rental car, it was so easy to take day excursions to many places in the Yucatan. We went to Celestun to see the flamingos, went to a working hacienda (Sotuta de Peon), and went into Merida. There are so many other things to do and see in this area, but we also just wanted to relax at the house and enjoy the beautiful beach there! Overall, I can't say enough wonderful things about this house and about Lizette and Gino. They made the trip BACK to the house (from their home in Merida) on the day we left to say goodbye to us. If you are interested in staying in this part of Mexico, you should DEFINITELY book this property. We felt it was such a good price for everything we got. We will remember this trip always, and are looking forward to returning to Casa Huul Kiin. Gracias Lizette and Gino!!!!!

Lizette and Gino, the owners are such wonderful, kind people. We arrived at Casa almost 3 hours later due to car problems in Cancun after landing. After an exhausting day and thank heavens for GPS, (for the last 15 mins.) we arrived and were greeted by smiling faces and warm hugs that instanly relaxed us. Lizette said to consider the Casa "our home” and enjoy all that it offers. We were shown the running of the house, and a welcoming tray of fruits, bag of coffee, small staples and cold beer in the fridge. A nice touch! There is a T.V., DVD, and stereo unit. Casa Huul is right on the beach, clean and beautifully decorated and is equipped with everything that you need. Of course you buy your own groceries. What a very spacious home with two large bedrooms and two bathrooms, and a hammock that you could move anywhere in the house or on the patios. A living room, dining room and four outside areas to chose to relax in. There is a raised Palapa in the back that gives you a view from above, an area below it with table and chairs with a BB.Q., and a smaller sitting area at the back/side by your very own pool! We moved when the wind chased us. We were staying there during the “Super-moon” and the strong North winds so only got into the ocean 2-3 times. Lizette gave us some suggestions of restaurants, grocery stores, places of interest, etc., as well as some phamplets left on the counter. There is a very small village about 5 mins away and a larger one in Progresso about 15 mins away that has grocery stores and banks. We went to the AKAI grocery store as there was an HSBC bank across the street. We also used the ATM machine at the Naval Base (2nd entrance) that was 7 mins away. Any small problems or issues we only needed to send a quick email and Lizette and Gino were there and it was handled. We can’t thank them enough for all their help when we ran into trouble with our Visa and banking. Lizette, I so enjoyed our many chats. Certainly a relaxing vacation made possible with all the wonderful ammenities provided and two personable, caring people who truly want you to enjoy Casa Huul - House of Sunshine. Hope to return one day!

This was my first experience booking a vacation home online and everything was spectacular. The listing description of the casa is spot on including layout and amenities. Lizette and her husband Gino, met us at the property and were so accommodating. They also own the property next door which is larger, and beautiful if you had a larger group and required two properties. The property was clean, well maintained, and Lizette also arranged for a cleaner to come during the week that we stayed. Chelem was very quiet this time of year, so very relaxing. Still local restaurants were open if you felt like a night out. Easy to meet great people in town. It's proximity to Progresso, and Merida is excellent. All the conveniences you need. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives. I would stay again. Lizette and Gino are incredible hosts! Moira

This was just what I needed. A beautiful place to turn off the stress and relax in the sun and sand. The house was quaint. The pictures posted fail to capture the feel of the breeze and the warmth of the sun. We are looking forward to returning as soon as possible.

We visited the Yucatan for a week the end of June and made Chelem our home base for hanging out and exploring. We stayed in two houses and had a terrific time. Casa Huul Kiin was one of the houses and was particularly lovely as it is a tastefully designed and decorated 2 bedroom beach house with a great shaded wading pool, palapa for sitting and watching the sunset and front porch to enjoy the sounds of the ocean. Add a always available, excellent host in Lizette the owner and it is a perfect choice for a vacation in the Yucatan. Chelem is also a great base to start from as you get the benefit of a secluded fishing/beach town so,you can wander the beach, hire a fishing guide and eat at lots of good little resteraunts plus you are proximite to everything from Mayan Ruins on the Ruta Puuc, Cenotes galore and colonial Merida.

This has been our 3rd trip to Casa Huul Kiin and the 2nd time for a month. I think that alone tells the story of how much we love the house. It was like going home to our own place. Gino and Lizette are special people. Their warm hugs and amazing hospitality made us feel welcome again. Our dog was happy to be back too! The house has everything to make you’re stay enjoyable. Lizette and Gino went out of their way several times help us with tours and restaurants in Merida, market for local fish, places to eat in Chelem to even helping with our car problem when we were desperate. Thank you! The house is ideally set up to enjoy all areas from the deck in front of the beach to several areas around the pool with a fantastic view from the palapa where you can eat after you have just BQ’ed you're fresh fish! We truly hope to return to this little piece of paradise in the future.

My husband and I (we are in our 50's) spent a relaxing, fun and interesting month at Huul Kiin. The owners of Huul Kiin, Lizette and Gino were extremely helpful and welcoming. They made sure that everything in the house was working perfectly and responded to any of our emailed questions quickly. We were at the beach house in Jan and Feb. The weather was beautiful during the day. Always between about 25C and 32 C. We spent a lot of time on the front patio, walking the beach and swimming in the ocean. The water in the pool was just a bit too cold. The pool would be heaven and an absolute necessity if you are visiting Huul Kiin between May & October as it is in a mostly shady area right next to the large palapa. The Norte winds are always blowing during the winter months and keep the nights cooled right down for comfortable sleeping. (Bring a light jacket or sweater, long-sleeved shirt & long pants for sitting outside at night) Air conditioning is available in the master bedroom for an extra fee. But it really isn't needed in the winter. We used it twice for a couple hours each time in 1 month. Huul Kiin is a 30 minute walk down the beach road to Chelem's town square. Bring GOOD walking shoes or sandals. We rented a car for the month from the Alamo agency located in the Fiesta Americana hotel in Merida. We drove between Chelem, Progreso, Merida and many other surrounding towns and villages frequently. There is endless shopping, restaurants, cultural events, art and music to experience 30 minutes away in Merida. The history of Mexico & the Mayan people is a deep & fascinating subject. The beauty & scale of architecture in Merida's centro historico is staggering. Places you HAVE to see: -the archeological site Dzibilchaltun (hire a guide, it's worth it) You'll need a camera. -the hacienda, Yaxcopoil (stunningly beautiful, just imagine what it was like during it's hay-day. ) you'll take lots of pictures. -for horses and good horsemanship, go to the Yucatan Polo Club on a Sat or Sun and watch a few polo matches (dress casual smart) -explore caves at Grutas de Calcehtok - good hiking shoes or sandals are NECESSARY, wear washable clothes; you are going to get dirty! You WILL be crawling through tunnels. Guides & headlamps are on site and mandatory. Small camera, keep your hands free -the yellow city, Izamal -again, take a camera. Get out and do and see things! You'll love it.

Stayed at this beautiful house for a week and we had a great time. The property and home are perfect and a great base for exploring the Yucatan. We visited Celestun wildlife refuge, Progreso, Uxmal ruins, Merida, the Cuzama Cenotes, and many beaches along the way. The Beaches here in the Yucatan are gorgeous. You will definitely need a rental car if you stay here. We loved it so much that when we return to Casa Huul Kiin it will be to look for a home of our own to purchase.Cant say enough good things about our stay.
