Here I got the best coffee in Colombia so far! 😊 Very friendly and cute lady who made everything possible for me.

The hotel is in a quiet area of town (by a park) but walkable (10-15mins perhaps) from the main square and the restaurant areas. I came during Covid and the manager was very careful - even towels were plastic wrapped.

The location is not as practical as it once was - because the long-distance bus terminal has moved (my guidebook and google maps both somewhat misleading) from close by to out of town. Not the hotel's fault (!) but it had been one reason for my choice. A small point, a tip rather than a negative - the hotel does not have an obvious fronttage / reception (you need to phone or ring the doorbell). The manager was always there and opened up but it was initially slightly confusing.

What makes this hotel so unique is the owner. She‘s extremely caring for her guests and you feel like home. She made even some hot tea for us in the evening and we could drink it in the bed while watching TV. The breakfast is tasty and freshly made. The bed is comfy and we had the view on the public park in front of the hotel. It was really quiet in the night and the area feels safe. You can leave the car in a public parking which is owned by a nice guy. We paid COP 8000 for around 14 hours. I appreciate as well that the owner is respecting the security protocols - the towels are in a separate bag and the whole hotel is extremely clean. As well, you have to desinfect shoes and hands before entering and she controls the temperature. I really love the hospitality and the love she puts in the hostel. The atmosphere is so nice and welcoming. It really does feel like home.

If you find yourself in Tunja for any reason, you should seek out this excellent little hotel. It was outstanding in every respect. 1. Accommodation - The small room had everything a guest could possible need. A window opens onto a park. There was a small table and chair for a computer. Water and snacks were available in the room. Plenty of electrical outlets with a light switch by the bed. Even toiletries were supplied. Hot water in the shower. The room was also quiet. 2. Location - Very close to Bolívar Plaza and a maximum of ten minutes from the bus terminal. 3. Owner/hostess - Paula was exceptional. She gave me an aromática on arrival and eventually walked me to a lunch spot rather than give me directions. The breakfast she made was huge. She even turned down the music at 9:00 PM. Something painfully lacking in many other hostels/hotels.

I could not find one single negative issue with this place.

We stayed 1 night. It’s not far from the bus station and the center. You have a sweet coffee bar downstairs. The staff is very friendly.

The breakfast was not on time.
