This was exactly what we wanted, a secluded stay in the countryside. Views were amazing and there was plenty of activities for children. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Dinner options were a little pricey

Sebastian at the front desk won’t steer you wrong. Always take his advice on excursions. He was wonderful. Jonny took my kids each day to feed the baby cows. It was a highlight. The breakfasts were incredible with fresh fruit, cheese from their dairy, fresh juice, eggs and homemade bread. Yum!!We stayed in the chalet and our family loved the A frame house. All 5 of us would highly recommend Hacienda el Rejo.

Beautiful remote location, super helpful staff, great food, picturesque rooms. A bit of farm life. If you come expecting a rural hacienda, you'll love it.

The food was a little pricey.

This place was a random find that exceeded our expectations in every way. My wife and I agreed this may have been the most beautiful place we’ve ever stayed. We rented the cottage (should be called the lodge, it’s huge!) for ourselves and our children - who also loved everything - and we all agreed it was our favorite rental ever. Sebastián and his crew went above and beyond for us each day. The food was great, the ambience was great, riding horses was amazing. I could go on and on. If your on the fence, just book it and thank me later. The photos on their website don’t do justice to the reality of this place.

What didn't I like?! Absolute friendly staff (they kept the restaurant open longer for us due to our delayed arrival), the view from the ranch was gorgeos, the ranch itself is upheld perfectly, the rooms are clean and nice. Beds are suuuuuuuuuuper comfy!

Beautiful property with friendly and welcoming staff. The food at the restaurant was amazing and we enjoyed spending our evenings in the common room by the fireplace. The staff were really helpful and let us check in early and check out late at no extra cost. Location is conveniently located to Cotopaxi, which we visited during our stay.

Quaint hotel, the ambiance was very well thought out and the views from the restaurant are amazing (on a clear day, obviously). Sebastian was super friendly and very informative, a great host. Rooms are big and beds comfortable. The breakfast was AMAZING, best we had in a month in Ecuador.

On the other hand, dinner was good but not great considering it was also one of the most expensive ones we had. Again, food IS good, just not outstanding.

An incredible place to stay on a working dairy farm. If you're looking for resort-style luxury, look elsewhere. But if you're looking for a place that instantly feels like home in the best ways with staff that go out of their way to make you feel special (mil gracias, Julio), this is your place. Sit by the open fireplace and play cards with a glass of whiskey. Go outside and watch cows being milked or hang out with Kevin, the resident peacock. When the clouds part, enjoy the beautiful view of a bunch of volcanoes... we could see Cotopaxi from our bed! And this is the best breakfast we had in Ecuador, hands down. Dairy products made on-site, delicious baked goods, eggs, good coffee, fruit... more than we could possibly eat, but we wanted to eat it all!

Sebastian is the manager of the hacienda. He went above and beyond for my father and I. We loved our stay there.

The food was the best we had on our vacation. The staff were extra kind and accommodating. Horseback riding, jacuzzi, billiards, darts, fireplace were all fun and relaxing. Sightseeing in the middle of 5 volcanoes (including mildly active Cotopaxi) between 6am and 8am was the absolute most awe-inspiring landscape view I have ever seen. Nobody saw the peak & plume for 3 weeks before we got there. Don't miss this destination on your itinerary!

Saw & smelled more dung than I have since growing up in small town Ontario. Make sure to clean your boots afterwards. Small price to pay for an epic stay!

Absolutely lovely place with top-notch hospitality. Thank you to Francisco, Julio, Sebastian and the rest of the team for welcoming us and providing such a great experience while we visited Cotopaxi. Breakfast is outstanding, rooms are comfortable, and the property has a beautiful view. Highly recommend!

Great food and staff :) Clean overall.

Overall presentation of common areas could of been more organized, more tidy. Game room equipmet was not up to par, for example missing ping pong balls.

The grounds were incredibly beautiful and well kept. The room was very clean. The bathroom spotless and the hot water was super hot. The dining room was spacious and the view from the dining area was picturesque. Simply put we loved everything about the property. Did we mention the food? It was wonderful. Julio the chef and Sabastian offered spectacular service.

The only thing we would like to mention would be to perhaps put up a sign or two to clearly mark how to get to the property from the main road. We had GPS but could be a problem for those who don’t.

We rented a family room, which we stayed only for one night. The room was for all of us (5) and it was spacious enough. The bath room was very big. The main thing about this place is the beautiful ranch it located in and the amazing dining room you can spend your evening at. The ranch makes it own cheese and other dairy products and you get to enjoy it at breakfast. Dinner is also available.

The host was really friendly and patiently answered all our questions. The rooms were very clean and big enough. The rooms are a little cold but they made sure the heat was on and there were a lot of blackets.

We spent a lovely stay in Hacienda El Rejo. Everyone is so nice and you really feel like you are at home. The location is beautiful, calm and full of farm animals (including alpacas!). We did all of our meals at the Hacienda and everything was perfect. The breakfast is very complete and delicious, and for lunch and dinner we tried a lot of things from the menu and out of the menu (just ask what they have outside of the menu) and it was always perfect. If I had to pick one favourite, the Porterhouse is definitely the winner! Another big plus was the internet connection, the best one we had in Ecuador for sure. Although, for us the best plan for the end of the day was definitely to read a book by the fireplace.

Not too flexible for changes of a booking

Best restaurant we have eaten at in Ecuador! Beautiful location. Working farm with lots of animals. Fireplace in the restaurant a great place to have a drink and talk.

Rooms were clean but very rustic. Coffee was the only thing the restaurant could improve on.

super friendly and helpful staff. The smell in the restaurant was so overwhelmingly good, that I just had to eat something! The hacienda offers horseback rides and trips. My room was very tastefully decorated and spacious. The location is wonderful - if you have a car to get there and if you are as lucky as I to have a blue sky morning

The surrounding was absolutely gorgeous. A large, well-decorated and well-kept ranch that feels far away from everything but close enough to town. The rooms are clean, large, and exceeded our expectations. The food was super fresh and reasonably priced. We especially loved the dining room for both dinner and breakfast with the fireplace and spectacular view. Most of all, our host, Sebastian was amazing. He helped us through every problem, made us feel at home, and was so helpful even after we’ve checked out. This is a gem I almost don’t want anyone else to discover!!

Nothing except the road to get to the hacienda is an agonizing ride which is no fault of the hotel.
