The location is good and quiet place .

Rooms should be clean lots of dust top of the bed. Door handles was broken unfortunately . Used outside door. Tv was not connected properly I think more focus on rooms.

　

Hotel rooms were big but old with a lot of dusts. Staffs were friendly but only 2 staffs in whole hotel so I think couldn’t maintain tidiness.Breakfast was nice.In 50 dollars in Srilanka you can find much better hotels.

A secluded haven in the suburbs of bustling Colombo, taking on the air of shabby chic with more than a nod to Sri Lanka’s colonial past. The entrance is dominated by a courtyard sheltered by a huge overhanging tree. Costa and Nuwan were exceptional - attentive accommodating and took great pride in their product and service - the breakfast ritual was very lovely. although there was food on offer we only had breakfast and then opted to get food delivered but this was supplemented by Costa who did a little shopping for us to have essentials in our room and to stock the mini fridge. The room was very spacious air conditioned with all amenities as described including a large en suite. seating areas upstairs and downstairs are open on one face and airy and breezy. The pool was large for the property and very welcoming in the humidity of Colombo.

The courtyard entrance is a little dark made so by the characterful hanging tree in the centre of it, the pool is bombarded by falling flowers and other plant bits from the lush tropical trees overlooking it. Costa and Nuwan do a sterling job trying to keep the pool free of debris though. there is cable/satellite to but the package is very basic with not many international channels included.

friendly staff, I had a comfortable stay. As i travelled during Ramadhan they provide breakfast before fajr prayer time, the room was very spacious.

Artisan Villa was a quiet and serene place to stay (I am not sure if the pool could be used or not). Relatively close to the main objectives when visiting Colombo (30min by walking) The room was big, it had air conditioning which was a must taking into consideration that there were 31 degrees outside. We had an early check-in and the staff was nice enough to keep our backpacks so that we could go explore the city. I must say that the sri lankan breakfast was very very good :) And the staff was super nice and curious about our country. Thanks for everything!

Compared to other places in Sri Lanka it was quite expensive - but we got a big room. Towels should be replaced ( they had some stains).

On my birthday the staff was very friendly and served me two cupcakes with candles. Breakfast also done with alot of love and care.

They are charging upmarket budget hotel prices for a very ordinary, slightly run down guesthouse. Some rooms needed painting, no towels, my fridge didn't work, only 1 bottle of water on arrival and the rooms are way too big and empty. The swimming pool wasn't clean, no sunbeds and the location is far from the main part of Colombo. I paid $210 for 3 nights - a complete rip off. The worst place I stayed in, in Sri Lanka.

Cute furniture, beautiful tree in the courtyard, large rooms and bathroom, good breakfast (especially juice!) & friendly and helpful staff who - in all fairness - did compensate for the shortcomings of the infrastructure and the fact that the stay was overpriced.

Old stains on the sheets, towels were not fresh (we also only had one towel per person, i.e. no face/hand towel), the bathmat was also visible unclean, shower head was leaking. There was a mix up with the additional bed upon arrival, we were not informed in advance that additional bed would cost more money (I am fine to pay for what requires extra services, but I would also expect those additional charges to be clearly communicated upfront). We also found that given what the hotel aspires to be, at least some of the water bottles should be complimentary. As it turned out, we were charged even for the two bottles that were in the fridge when we arrived - it’s common decency that those are complementary (at least that was the case in any other hotel that I’ve ever stayed at in my life).

This place is an absolute Gem, especially if you love peace and quiet. Being a digital nomad, I really need my space, and this absolutely beautifully renovated six-bedroom colonial house, transformed into an oasis, is exactly what I crave. And people have commented on the Wi-Fi, but I can manage. While there are drop-outs, the speed is good, and I can assure you after five visits to this country, this is Sri Lanka, and not the the fault of this premises. Perfectly imperfect, don't expect the sterile surroundings of the five star hotels, but do expect cleanliness, spectacular food, friendly staff, and peace and quiet for when you've explored the colourful market hustle and bustle of Colombo and need some peace. If you want to go out to a restaurant or to party, everything is within a ten-minute tuk tuk ride away, and they are easily found on the corner of the street. All the staff are attentive yet hands-off, and give you a feeling of family. All foodies want to explore the street food, and what Sri Lankans' eat. Hot tip: in the morning, forgo one breakfast. Exit the hotel and turn left. At the end of the street, turn left again, and the first shop you come to on the left will be a little food shop with Sri Lankan delights, where all the locals eat - it's a must, and delicious! A combination of delights will set you back about one US dollar! Other than that, eat the curries at home - they have a new chef, so any older posts are wrong about the food. Dive into this experience, and leave those hotel chains - you won't regret it! I stayed for three nights, then they drove me to Galle at a fair price, and after Galle, I decided to come back, so they drove down and picked me up, and now I'm back!
