Staff were friendly on the front desk , and closeness to everything in the city
The hotel is so old needs a lot of work , we had mould in our bathroom, just not a pleasant experience all round . We decided to leave early because of chest problems from the room . We tried to ask for a refund , but they offered us a different hotel . But we had already booked elsewhere. So we lost out , but we had to get out of there . Needs so much done , to make this place comfortable especially for the price you pay .

It was clean, near the downtown and they gave me some advice to visit some places.

Great, king size bed. Friendly stars.
Wi-Fi slow. No hot water three of the four days there.

The property is an older colonial building with attractive architecture.
The staff was impolite.

Amazing location. Great value for money
The rooms and bathrooms could do with an update. The hotel itself was very charming though.

Comfortable rooms, east walk to Centro. Many restaurants close by
Aircon leaked water and staff moved us to another room immediately and helped us move

Location
Dirty, expensive falsely advertised free parking but it was free overnight parking ! Would not even give us a glass for our room. The shower also needed maintenance as it spurted water towards the wall. And the built in bedside table on the left side was not level, I thought my water bottle would fall off it.
The room.was the size of a postage stamp. Room for only a king size bed. I would have preferred a double bed and more room in the room for a chair.
The staff were disorganized, did not give wifi instructions on check in and forgot our vouchers for breakfast and parking.
If they are implementing measures such as no plastic bottles then there needs to be a glass alternative.
Also the foyer was the extremely dirty and littered with leaf debris. And the pool.was in a weird location at the bottom of stairs and murky.. A piece of the steel railing was corroded .
The place badly needs maintenance.

I really like this location, near the Cathedral but not too close. Lots of great restaurants nearby. Lots of things to see nearby.
This is a really old place, but it is the colonial section of town. Some people might not be into this type of room.
3.0
The location was great. It was very central.
The back part of the hotel, where our room was, had a motel vibe. It was quite loud in the evenings. A lot of teenagers were running around and partying in the yard.
3.5
Location was great! 3 minutes walk from the Cathedral.
Wifi didn't work in our room, also in the lobby wasn't that good.
3.0
The location was excellent, the cool was lovely and cool. Interesting building and the room was extremely clean. Nice hot water too.
Ac didn't work, wifi rarely worked, room with the king bed was so small it was hard to walk around the bed. The rooms with the double beds were great and roomy. The smell from the bathroom drain was typical of Mexico but none the less gross. The male clerk was extremely unhelpful. The female one was mininally helpful. The cleaning staff was very reactive and helpful. Don't wait money on the breakfast option its just not worth it. Oodles of places bear by that are better( and you have to leave the hotel to go for it anyways, it's in another one down the street).
3.0
The beds where cozy and the rooms where exceptionally clean. Location was perfect. Pool was lovely and cool.
We had a flood in our room that damaged some personal items (a leather purse, a hat and my husbands very expensive CPAP machine were all sitting in an inch of water when we work up. The guy at the front desk did not appoligize or offer to compensate us in the least. They should have atleast offered to comp us for a night. We did end up stay several nights after this in a different room and had no issues. Truly the only reason we stayed and didn't switch hotels when this happend was that we would have had to lug our luggage around till check in time at another hotel and that was just not going to happen. And the bed was extremely comfortable as was the ac( in the last room anyways). The very 1st night our room was extremely tiny, only fit the king size bed basically and had only a fan working on the ac unite, so the then switched us to a room that then flooded that night. The final room was fine(room 117).

This place needs more recognition. One of the best places I’ve stayed in the whole of Mexico. Amazing comfy beds the best since I’ve been in Mexico, perfect location in Merida honestly couldn’t get better location if you tried and great spacious rooms. Really clean and great value for money.
The man who checked us in was pretty unhelpful but other than that there’s nothing I didn’t like.

Well located.
Very dirty. Bad smell in the bedroom and bathroom. Missing towels. You’ll need to pay for the parking.

Colonial house. Great location.
Electricity outage for more than 12 hours! Only in the hotel and not in neighboring buildings. Consequently no Wifi, no A/C what we had paid for. Demanding to talk to the manager was denied saying he would not have a phone number he could be reached on. Bad attitude of staff and no solution. Lots of little flies in the room. Pool was very small.

BED BUGS !!!! Puce de lits !
When I inform the staff about it, they did not care. They did not help and / or give any kind of compensation. They told me to send an email to the management (which was actually the front desk mail). I never got a response. They are rude and lazy. The rooms are old, loud and dirty.
Worst stay in my 2 month trip in Mexico.

Location
The staff was a bit unorganized, and the room was not clean. Even if they would bring fresh towels everyday (not asking about them), the rest of the room was not clean. You get what you pay, a cheap place to stay at the center, but don't expect much.
4.0
Old style hotel, wonderful staff present on the floor, wifi didn’t work in my room, but was fully available & fast just outside my door in a cozy sitting area by the pool. The second floor guests got good wifi, but 1st floor not. So clise to walk to ALL the Centro parks … about 15 minute walk to Plaza Grande, tons of sights & dining. A great location Extremely HOT POWERFUL shower. Super, super high quality bedding. … plain towels but spectacular bedding
No room safe …. Other than that the location, and attentive staff make this a great low cost option. I would stay again. No access to coffee in hotel but little shop right next door That’s it A nice option for a basic stay in a fabulous location

I was wondering how to rate this hotel as I don't like leaving bad reviews and I hate to bring a business down. But I also hope they improve and that people know what to expect. I was just not happy with my stay.
The good: The location is great and the bed is huge and comfortable. They make your bed every day.
The bad: Before going to the hotel I had made a mention in my booking that I would need Wifi in my room, as I work online.
The place is beautiful and has loads of potential but there is just no life, it seems like a poorly used space where everyone seems unhappy. I guess these are subjective observations, and it could have something to do with the timing. I was there 10 days in February.
The room is very dark and because the bed is so large, there is not a lot of space for anything else.
During the day the internet would be extremely slow and unstable, but what made it hard for me is that most nights the internet didnt work at all. I had warned a few times already and asked if something could be done. The receptionist said that they would do something and that it would be solved, but the next day it was all the same. After being told 2x that they would look at it, i asked again and the receptionist said that it was because the hotel was full so then the internet won't work. Merida's internet is fine - it's a choice not to improve it at this hotel.
I'm disappointed with the customer service of Booking.com as I asked for assistance via the app and they never answered my message.

I love the price/quality relation
The bedans the roof in general smelled like cloro
4.0
- good location in the city
- my room (116) was right at the back of the courtyard away from street noise
- thorough cleaning routine every day
For the price I can’t complain much but I don’t think a soap bar has to be replaced every single day (it’s wasteful).
The shower is trickling and it takes a few minutes for the hot water to come through but it’s the same in almost all hotels here. It’s just the lack of water in the city in general. No blame on the hotel.
I was disappointed that I couldn’t borrow a spoon from reception or the little guest kitchen (“due to Covid”).
