Lava House is just a 5 minute walk from the malecon. You will find yourself in a clean and spacious room centered around a lovely garden, with a sassy little Boston Terrier named Lava running around keeping everything in check. And you will be treated to a delightful (and very complete) breakfast on their raised wooden terrace overlooking the garden. I stayed here three nights but wish I had the forethought to book a longer stay. Highly recommended!

It would be so fine if breakfast was offered longer than 0700-0830. I am not known for early rising, and even if breakfast could be extended until 0900 it would help people like me.

Excellent full breakfast in open air dining area. The staff is of the highest quality and service (Michelle, Rosita, Isabel, Richard, & others) These people went miles beyond the expected during the COVID-19 pandemic. Without their help we would not have been able to get a change in our return plane reservations. They made the trip special.

I'd have to stretch to find something we didn't like. If you have children be aware the pool is a small above ground unit. Still a treat after a day hiking or being in a beach location. For some people the distance to the malecon may be an issue but for us the 15 minute separation from the crowd gave us a piece of tranquillity.
