Beautiful location, the cottage was well designed with plenty of space. We loved the garden with the swings and trampoline for the children. All the beds were incredibly comfortable.

The cottage was not cleaned well, lots of dust, urine left in one of the toilets when we arrived. Dirty dish towels, dirty dish rack and an aggressive shower that was broken causing the bathroom to flood when used.

The house was not ready on our agreed check in date due to a cleaner not being available and we were invited to check in the following day. We were forced to book the first night at a nearby hotel at additional cost. When we arrived on our booked day 2, the property was locked and we had to wait for the owner to return home to tell us that she received a message from Sykes Country Cottages that we had cancelled which we had not and the owner graciously 'reinstated' our booking. Sykes Country Cottages were an absolute nightmare to deal with but after several phone calls and emails agreed to refund the lost day. We recorded their verbal promise. The rebate never happened despite numerous promises and so this holiday cost us considerably more than was necessary. We now have to persue Sykes in the County Court.

The location. Good linen and towels.

I would prefer a dishwasher instead of a washing machine, especially with increased hygiene concerns these days. Garden furniture was so tatty it was unusable and unsightly. Battered old garden toys - no children staying so couldn’t they be at least tidied away? All beds were uncomfortable and huge chests of drawers unsuitable as bedside cabinets.

As there was 4 of us there were 2 bathrooms Peace and quiet Plenty of parking And we were meet as soon as we drove up to the property

There was nothing we could find fault with ,would highly recommend

Nice location and plenty of dog friendly places around.

Easy access to cottage with key left in door on arrival. Basics provided in kitchen for self catering and some provisions i.e. eggs, teabags, coffee and sugar. No milk though. The cottage was warm as there was oil heating. This which could be an issue in hot weather as oil boiler is located in kitchen so had to watch storing any food in cupboards. Two fridges one with freezer top drawer so handy. Lovely bedrooms with comfy beds and good towels. Garden areas with benches to sit out and play equipment for children. So great for dogs and children to run around. Car parking convenient to cottages and ample. Also, well lit around cottages at night with sensor lights.

No knives or teaspoons in cutlery drawer on arrival. Soon sorted out by owner though on request. Electric hob is a bit dated - it took ages to heat up. Dishwasher would have made the stay more convenient especially with a family stay. Some areas around Corner Cottage need some TLC. Old wooden door hanging off by a rear door into children's play area. Grass and garden areas generally around cottages needed some care or tidy up. Depends if you like a wild look or neat gardens!

Loved the welcome, free range eggs left and milk. Great location to get about
