Beautiful location, the house is fantastic and a very relaxing place to stay. Both owners are so nice and very helpful + the complimentary scones and jam were delicious 😊 I would fully recommend and we'll most definitely be back.

Nothing to dislike

The property and its owners are outstanding. During a five night stay as a family group we couldn't have been in a better location or received better hospitality. From Helen meeting us on arrival, giving us "the tour" and the welcome pack till we waved goodbye on Sunday morning she was an absolute delight. Located on a hillside overlooking Dromineer, Lough Dergh each evening was spent on the full-width veranda watching the bats flying about as the sun set over the lake and the hills beyond - we even saw some shooting stars! Although in a very quiet location there's a local shop and pubs less than a mile away and everyone was really friendly. The accommodation itself easily coped with seven adults and a baby. There is an en-suite double bedroom on the ground floor which would be useful for anyone with mobility issues. There is always a shady spot to be found in the garden throughout the day.

The only improvement needed is to the Booking.com listing which says there is no parking available. In reality several cars could be comfortably parked at the property. Other than that we found Barr An Chnoic to be idyllic.

Location and views far beyond photo online, but not easy to find. However since it was best stay in Ireland worth it! Hosts were charming--delicious scones welcomed us! Sheep in the meadow, cows across the street! Views of Lough Derg in distance from front! Local nightlife wonderful and easy to get to highways for touring! Highly recommended!

The owners are a delight to talk to and gave us lots of information about the area. The facilities were second to none and it was as like a home away from home. There are great activities to do at the lake which is only a five minute drive. We are planning our next visit already. We had 4 adults 2 teens and 4 children with us and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.

There was nothing we didn't like.

The hosts, Helen and Margaret gave us an amazingly warm welcome with the house having so many bits to hand as soon as we arrived including towels for everyone, fresh eggs, freshly baked scones and jam. Beautiful spacious house and super covid friendly! Super stay!!
