Great time, great accommodation as always

We love the Emerald! It is a beautiful and well-kept property with excellent staff. This is our third stay at Emerald, each time in different units. The unit we stayed this time was somewhat disappointing. Just minor things and probably some personal preferences. The king bed was amazingly comfortable, but the linens were well-worn and the blanket inadequate, too thin. The pillows also seemed to need to be replaced. Several of the blinds on the windows did not work well. The inside handle on the entry door pulled off at one point, but we repaired it. We replaced the salt and pepper shakers as they were empty. The kitchen was stocked enough but again serving-ware could use an update. One of the drawers in the kitchen was difficult to pull in and out. We found the chairs in the living room uncomfortable, but the couches are very nice!!! Would have liked a real desk chair as I am a writer who spent time at the desk. Also odd that there was not a small dining table. Us old folks don’t do well on bar stools! All this said, we will definitely stay at the Emerald again, but will probably avoid this particular unit. We did have a pleasant stay, and greatly enjoyed the Dickens Festival!

Room was beyond what we expected. Pool area was next level awesome. Extremely close to the beach, restaurants and cruise terminal. I would definitely stay here again.

My niece’s therapist told her she needed a weekend away with no husband and no kids. This condo was just what the doctor ordered. As it turned out, more than one of us needed that prescription. The room was spacious, the bed and the sofas were comfy! We spent so much time just talking and relaxing. We never used the tv but it is nice and big. The view from the balcony is just awesome! The pool is amazing! We wished we had booked another night! The welcome packet included all the information we needed. We will definitely be back!

Our stay was amazing! Shaun at the front desk deserves a raise, he is the absolute best!! Property is gorgeous, love the pool area, love the proximity to Porreto beach. WE CANT WAIT TO COME BACK!!!

Nice property but too far from beach. Bed was uncomfortable and bath towels were old and flimsy. Type you use on your car. Recent purchase of new couches were comfortable. Pool and spa were clean and not crowded. Staff were nice and helpful. I give it 7 out of 10 stars

Property was fantastic. There is a lot available including the awesome pool. Room needs some attention as door batteries were dead, vent in bedroom area was open with no way to close it, no trash bag and VERY uncomfortable bed. Enjoyed our stay, but some attention should be given to these areas.

The studio is beautiful, spacious, quiet, and bright. Even though it is on the same level as the pool, it is at the far side corner giving it a private feel. The kitchen is minimally appointed and the knives were dangerously unsharpened. Those who wish to cook their meals must bring their cooking tools. The apartment was not as well cleaned as it had been the previous times I stayed, and there weren't as many towels as before. Even with these small issues, my stay was peaceful and restful. The views of the ocean, the wonderful common areas, and the infinity pool provide a luxurious feeling that is hard to beat.

My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. The place was perfect for us. although the weather wasn't the best, the accommodations made up for it. We will be booking and staying there again very soon!!

Even on the ugly days, the property has the game room and theatre to keep us occupied. And the heated pool & spa was perfect! Room needed a little updating and some items were not clean, but easy to do ourselves. Great location with in minutes from downtown and attractions on the seawall. Definitely would refer this property to anyone staying in Galveston!

Upon checking in the front desk staff didn’t have any info on me staying there? Had to call property owner to confirm I had reservation’s? Embarrassing.

Beautiful unit and building

My wife and I chose this property for our week-long anniversary getaway vacation. Health and fitness are extremely important to us, and we work out and run multiple times each week. For that reason we only considered properties with on-site gyms, and the pictures of the gyms in the listings (showing their size and how well they were equipped) carried just as much weight in our decision as the descriptions and pictures of the other amenities. Your listing listed a gym among the amenities, and that gym looked spacious and well-equipped in the pictures. Imagine our shock when we arrived late Saturday afternoon for a week-long stay, after a 4 1/2 to 5 hour drive, when we were informed at check-in that the gym is ONLY available to rental guests on the weekend, and is reserved for the exclusive use of owners Monday through Friday! We were angry to say the least. That is very important information which absolutely should have been in the listing. Had we known this, we would have chosen a different property for our vacation - that's how important it was to us. At that point, having already paid for the rental, and being well past any cancel/refund deadline, we were stuck. We were able to use the gym on Sunday, then our only option was to purchase day passes at a local gym to be able to work out. Suffice it to say, we were not happy with this. The condo itself is very nice overall, but there are a few areas of need. The mattress and foundation are pretty worn out, and squeak loudly, especially on the side closest to the exterior wall. I was awakened by loud squeaks every time I moved during the night. Very annoying! I would certainly recommend replacement. The kitchen could use some additional forks and spoons, and there was only one steak knife. Also, in case you're not aware, the dishwasher is extremely loud. In fact, its the loudest dishwasher I've ever heard. At home, we run our dishwasher with all the day's dishes when we go to bed at night. We tried that on vacation, but quickly had to turn it off. From that point on, we would start it during the day when we were leaving the condo. I hope this feedback is helpful.

While the common areas were nice, the unit itself was poorly maintained and filthy. There was no toilet paper at all, and the front desk said they could not provide, but would contact the owner. We never heard back. There was also just one roll of paper towels (poor quality single ply) to last a four day stay. 6 towels for a place that sleeps 4 people for 4 days (and they can’t go to the pool). We also found an earring and a toe nail in the carpet, as well as dried oatmeal on the tile. The silverware and pots and pans had food from previous occupants on them. This may be because they only left two pods for the dishwasher. The mattress is stained. The curtains are missing shades, which makes completely closing the blinds impossible. There appeared to be some in the closet, but they were pinned behind a broken TV. We will not return.

Can’t rate our stay high enough! Clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and went out of their way to greet us and make us feel at home. Room had everything we needed and was quiet.

The place was clean and in a great location to Stewart Beach which is what I was looking for overall. The building areas were clean and we'll varrf for. There were needed external amenities nearby. The check-in staff and grounds staff were helpful and friendly. The room could use some upgrades, some dishes were chipped, barstools we're wobbly and uncomfortable. No towels were supplied for use at the pool. Where the carpet met the bathroom door there was some tacky strip poking through, I didn't catch it, but my mom did. They only left us with two rolls of toilet tissue for the whole week. The toilet was running the whole time we were there, I messaged the property manager "they put in a ticket" and we never heard back on it again. And then the checkout instructions included that we, the guests, needed to take the garbage to "the shute" and strip the bed. No information was given as to where the shute was and I didn't have time to strip the bed before driving back to Houston for my flight. Overall the place was nice, but the room just needs some maintenance.

Some of the sliding door blinds were missing, which made mornings very bright. But overall a clean easy experience!

Perfect location if you have a car. Pool is also wonderful. Room is very comfortable. They forgot to notify the hotel about our stay but they resolved that promptly and on Christmas day.

My husband and I stayed here for our 12th wedding anniversary, and we loved it!

In need of new furniture (stains on sofa), bedding, and a few of the blinds were missing. Wasn’t very clean. I had to wipe down bathroom walls, kitchen, etc. with Lysol wipes. Emerald by the sea has some lovely rooms, this was my worst stay.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 Nights and had a wonderful time. The unit was very clean, and had a great view. Will rent again.

Overall, the condo was good for the price. Everything is at the absolute minimum, I would at least add some more hangers for guests. Location is great, and the pool area is fantastic. We were unpleasantly surprised that we could not use the pool before 10am (we are early risers and counted on swimming before breakfast). It would be good to know beforehand. Also, we had to wear wrist bands - that was just annoying, especially considering we were in and out of the condo for special events. Also did not know about that. Another detail - you cannot bring guests. That was OK but would be good to know beforehand. And one more thing. You can only use the gym Fri-Sun, so if you are staying over the week, the front desk will not open it for you. Good to know! I am a runner and had to run in the heat.

My adult daughter and I decided to have a girl weekend. We loved this condo so much we didn't want to leave! We spent more time in the condo than we did the beach. It was so beautiful. She slept on the day bed and said it was so comfy. The condo is huge and has a full kitchen if want to cook. We cooked breakfast only. The condo is so ckean and modern. We spent a lot if time in the pool and hot tub. The view from pool was fantastic. The pool is huge with a fun fountain. The whole thing is 4 feet deep so you can swim or just walk around. The condo has a wrap around terrace that offers great views of the beach as well as neighborhood. We will be going back. We're already making plans for next year!
