Check in process is different than most places I’ve stayed but isn’t difficult. Host was friendly and timely on communication. Space is great, the rooftop was very nice. Good location. Whole Foods and food trucks across the street were awesome. Easy to get to beach, shopping, etc

I recently stayed at this wonderful VRBO property in Venice Beach, Los Angeles. The check-in process, while initially a bit confusing, was worth it once inside. The property was impeccably clean and matched the online description perfectly, featuring a charming patio and a stunning rooftop space perfect for sunrises and sunsets.
The amenities were generally good, with adequate kitchen appliances and Wi-Fi. The AC and heating worked well, ensuring a comfortable stay. The bed in the living space was very comfortable, although the upstairs air mattress accessed by a ladder might not be ideal for everyone.
The location was superb—close to groceries, excellent restaurants, and the ocean, with easy travel access to Hollywood and San Pedro. The neighborhood felt extremely safe, with secure entry that gave it a “CIA safe house” vibe.
While the host’s communication could be improved, everything in the property worked well, and it was evident that a lot of effort had been put into making the space comfortable and inviting. The nearby dining options were a highlight, though parking could be a bit tricky.
Overall, I would recommend this property, especially for a short stay like mine. It offers a great blend of comfort, convenience, and an excellent location.

I stayed here with my son and daughter and we loved it. It is in a great location and having an elevated loft helped to provide some privacy for the studio experience. Nice balcony and deck, everything was clean and neat. I recommend it!

We had a wonderful stay here! Bruno was a very helpful property manager and made sure we were happy and had everything we needed! Great air conditioning, lots of space, and the patio is such a nice area to relax! Beautiful home not too far from the airport and beach! Highly recommend
The only con was that vrbo shows you can check in anytime after 5 (perhaps there isn't an option to put a cut off), but be aware that you can not check in after 9pm.

Great space. Very clean and nice to have balcony access. Loft not safe for our young kids but we just left the ladder up and it was fine. Booking was confusing at first as I have a 2 yr old that wasn’t counted somehow by the website. Not owner’s fault but I was surprised to have to pay extra. It’s a website quirk that only books max of 4 so check that if you have more than 4 in your group. Easy proximity to Whole Foods and Ralph’s. Street parking was fairly easy every day.

This place was perfect. Very much enjoyed being here.

We loved the space itself, but the property manager Bruno was unprofessional. He barged into a room of young females without knocking or announcing himself - completely inappropriate behavior.

The location was fine; across the street from a whole foods and a nice walk to shops and restaurants. The property was as nice as it looks in the pictures. Interacting with the owner was really a strange experience for us. I had never booked VRBO, and prefer to stay in hotels for the ease of travel. My sister has always had good luck with VRBO so I decided to give it a shot for her birthday weekend trip. I booked, paid, and received confirmation without a problem. Several days before my trip I received a call from the owner letting me know that I needed to pay him extra for each guest over the first two, even though I had entered into the system that I planned on having three and paid the amount that was displayed. The document I received following my booking also indicated that I only needed to pay extra if there were more than six guests. He told me cash would be preferred, and that I needed to call him when I was getting close to the location. When we were driving up my sister was sick and I was distracted and just wanted to get settled in; I forgot to call him. He called me when we were only blocks away and was very abrupt. I asked if there was a key waiting for us and he said no, because there was 'unfinished business.' I pulled over to the side of the road, gave him my credit card and hung up, but then received a fraud alert indicating that my card had probably not gone through. I called him back, over and over again, but the phone went to voicemail. At this point we thought it might be a scam and were considering going to a hotel. I finally got through to him and he was rude about the fact that my card had declined, even through it was just fraud protection. He walked us to the room and we paid him cash for additional pet fees, and he said he would waive the fee for the extra guest since there had been trouble. This was nice, but his personality was still very abrupt and accusatory and we were pretty uncomfortable. The whole situation felt micromanaged and was way more trouble than we had expected. I understand that he had been renting the property for a long time and that he was not happy with the rental system, but that is not something I should have been confronted with when I was just trying to enjoy a quick getaway with my sister. We are both professional women in our thirties and felt that we were being treated like liabilities. Next time I will likely book a hotel.
