Beautiful property in the countryside by San Gil. Room was also comfortable and spacious.

The location means there are no shops near. Since this is the case there should be food options at the property or breakfast offered at an additional cost. The WiFi frequently cut out in the evenings and the staff were not responsive in fixing this. It was also quite loud in the evenings with people playing music and shouting outside the room.

Friendly staff, who helped us with everything we needed. Amazing quiet place in the middle of the nature with a beautiful garden with many birds and a nice swimming pool. They offer a Turkish steam bath service, which was really relaxing. The garden offers many places to relax. Many restaurants in San Gil have a delivery service to this hostel. The surrounding is great for walking and birdwatching. We had a private kitchen next to our room. The hotel dog is the sweetest dog ever!

You can not get there by public transport, but it is easy to take a taxi from San Gil.

the room we reserved online, per the pictures, was a 2 bedroom but when we arrived we were given a 1 bedroom only. seemed like a mixup on the part of the staff as they thought we only had 3 people instead of 4. but all the other rooms had been given out. also a bit loud throughout the night with frogs/crickets and also the dogs that lived on the property barking.

location: up a dirt road from the main road and well outside san gil. no food or drink available not even for breakfast. no protection from mosquitoes even spray or those things that when ignited provide repellent, some rooms even with outside bathroom hence mosquitoes.

Location and lack of things provided for the price paid. It's difficult to get to, so with such a challenging location and an expensive stay it would be nice to have breakfast included.

Casas de Campo el Ciruelo is a hidden gem just outside San Gil that was recently completely overhauled. Everything is new and immaculate. We have done a lot of travelling throughout Colombia and this "resort" deserves an 11/10. Nelson was very helpful, friendly and interesting to talk to - he helped us find local attractions and made sure our stay was perfect. Sergio has not omitted a single detail - each room has a lovely outside kitchen and seating area and the rooms are spacious and private. If you are in the area, make sure you book here! Great value for the money - a true oasis. Well done Sergio and Nelson!

We stayed an extra two days because we couldn't find a single fault! although once we had to chase the sheep out of the water fountain and keep them from eating the flowers :-)
