This is a special spot to stay. The space was stocked with games, many books and comfy furniture. The kitchen had basic cooking supplies. Good TV offerings. The location, quiet and ambiance were very special and the main reason to come back to this spot.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the creative retreat on the Bolinas mesa near Agate Beach. The space has a spacious, open floor plan, very comfortable queen bed, beautiful hardwood floors, large windows providing bright natural light and a great book collection. The space is one unit of a duplex in a natural setting of lush vegetation, magnificent gardens overlooking the ocean in the distance with optimal privacy since the units only share parking space and a large outdoor deck overlooking the gardens. Agate Beach below a towering cliff with tide pools teeming with sea life was an easy 15 minute walk. Our host Phillippa was friendly, welcoming and freely shared her ideas on how to enjoy Bolinas

Beautiful and cozy studio with a private feel. Gorgeous back yard and nice location - walkable to Agate Beach.

I really enjoyed the Creative Retreat and Bolinas. I was looking for a secluded and very quiet spot on the coast, and I found it! The space is bright and clean (note that the kitchen is quite bare bones; don't assume anything will be provided beyond the absolute basics. I missed morning coffee.). The bed and couch are comfortable, and the overall feel is just fantastic. There are many reviews that comment on the roads, and I'll chime in to say that the neighborhood streets in this part of town are like unmaintained Forest Service backcountry roads. Don't bring a low clearance car and do a little diligence to find the route that maximizes time on pavement (hint: Elm Rd is your friend!). The Agate Beach County Park is wonderful for a walk, watching the surfers is a joy, the town has great food. Go, find some quiet, and enjoy yourself.

Lovely spot on the Mesa in Bolinas. Nice studio cottage w/ a deck and sweet yard w/ sculptures in it. Our hosts were helpful and considerate, thanks for the wonderful weekend!

We spent a lovely 3 night stay in this wonderful country retreat in Bolinas...it was clean, quiet and the host was very accomodating during our stay.....

Rental property is brightly lit and beautiful. Very close access to cute town of Bolinas and secluded sandy beach. It was chilly and very windy when I went in late June but I enjoyed getting away from heat of summer. There were some negatives. First, the directions that I needed that explained that the gps was wrong and the house was on the left side of the road wasn’t sent to me until I was already enroute. I had no signal/Wi-Fi so I spent a few embarrassing minutes knocking on strangers doors looking for my rental. So send that message much sooner. The rental agent, or maybe it was the husband of his wife, the main agent who wasn’t there, asked me when I arrived if he could install a porch screen barrier to divide and provide privacy for me and them. I agreed. It provided no privacy but I was constantly seeing him outside my great room window which was an uncomfortable level of non-privacy. Window blinds were no help. Yes, I gave him permission but it just ruined my time there after I paid a lot for that two day get away stay. I found out that this rental allows dogs but is not dog friendly. The only grassy area for a dog to go is the backyard but it is full of burrs and spiky things. The owner’s mother (in-law?) told me that my dog needed to be leashed while their dog ran free. She wasn’t nice about it either. Now for the nitpicky but frustrating: only one towel so had to ask for second; ran out of tp so had to ask for second; needed soap so had to ask. No cooking oil. At that point, I was done with asking for anything. My family told me I should have given this experience a much lower rating. But everything except the dog experience can easily be corrected so I believe that the owners will learn and improve. Overall it is a wonderful place in proximity to the Pacific Ocean.

This place is gorgeous. Beautiful, light, bright and breezy with pretty pillows, fluttery curtains, comfy sofas, perfect patio doors out to a delightful deck overlooking gorgeous gardens with lively sculptures, and a fantastic seascape stretching out beyond. Downsides: no oven, much further from the beach than I’d imagined, and Agate beach is actually steep and rocky anyway, and even getting in and out of Bolinas was an adventure each time! However this place was such a delight that it made a little intrepid adventuring out to find things worth it, to come home to this place! Would recommend! Nice helpful hosts in adjoining property helped my mom work the hob. Very friendly host texted me easy details to get there and get in. All very laid back and relaxed. Loved all the wood!en carvings!

A bit spartan at first blush but we warmed to the property within 10 minutes. Very quiet, nothing but the friendliest people for miles around, very clean and livable space with a largely open floor plan. Perfect for a mature couple. Close to the quaint avenues of Bolinas, to top-notch hiking in Pt Reyes, and of course, to the crashing waves of the Pacific. Only warning to next guests is that the general store in town closes at 6pm! Bruce

The place was beautiful. Internet was super great . Honestly a great place to stay if you need to get away. Hard to navigate at night but I enjoyed every moment

My wife and I were pleased with our stay. We felt the home was nicer than the listing shows. Great location and property, and the host was very nice. The town is a bit hard to navigate. Apple does a better job of navigation than Android in this case. Only downsides were spotty internet and a small kitchen. Overall, I have no hesitations about staying here again.

My husband and I had a wonderful and relaxing stay. The place was tranquil and quiet and the hosts we're so nice. The small kitchen was more than enough to cook in and they had nice pans to cook with. Bolanis is a hidden gem that everyone should visit at least once. The people are so inclusive and welcoming as you share their town and the beautiful coast.

I got a message about 4 hours before check-in saying that they had to cancel stay because they had over booked. We scrambled and found some place else to stay. Very tough to have them cancel at last minute. It took about a week but we eventually got all our money back.

Just what we needed for a twosome Christmas when we could not be with family. Spotless, nice linens, comfortable furniture, good lighting for reading, fine shower and lots of hot water. Suggestion: no glasses of any kind (but hosts supplied upon request), no large spoon for stirring soups or sauces, no dishpan for doing dishes. We wished we could have stayed longer. A great place to work (although WiFi a bit spotty).

The property offers a quiet, peaceful and private place to unwind. It’s a very spacious beautifully decorated studio filled with light. We look forward to returning!

This beautiful apartment is on a hillside overlooking the ocean. Excellent cycling and hiking opportunities are nearby.

Clean, simple, beautiful. A great little place to stay in a wonderful neighborhood and town. I love Bolinas. The GPS directions take you to the wrong location. Its close, but at night it was confusing and challenge to find the correct house. No big deal, but would have been helpful to have that outlined by the host - or to have detailed directions provided so we would not have to rely on GPS (because internet is spotty in Bolinas as well). Also, the door was locked when we arrived, which was after dark. We were told it would be unlocked with the keys in side. So, I had to sneak around and startle the host in the main house. No big deal again, but would have made the check-in process a bit more seamless. Overall, absolutely wonderful little place in a truly special part of the world. Thank you so so much!

This is a great little spot, really wonderful place to stay. Our hosts were very communicative. The place is well appointed, comfortable, and beautiful. The location is great if you’re looking for some space away from town and like to hear the ocean at night. Would definitely recommend this place to others.
