We stayed a weekend and loved it. The rental was very clean and in walking distance to everything we wanted to do and central enough to make a drive out of the area completely manageable. In reading previous reviews regarding the check-in process and picking up keys off-site, we were aware of the extra stop and appreciated the swift responses to questions and requests for clarification. We are excited to see about a return trip in the future.

It’s our second time staying in this building. We are grateful to be able to walk to so many spots including The Listening Room, Founders and great local coffee shops. The close proximity to Woods is a bit of an issue because loud, late night music can be heard in the street side bedroom. Though we know it is necessary, picking up the key from an off site location is a bit of a hassle. Wish that check in could be at 3 pm and check out at 11 am - similar to most other VRBO locations.

We stayed in 4 units over Labor Day weekend for our son's wedding and couldn't be happier with our stay and experience in downtown Grand Rapids! I'm glad I read through other postings by other renters so I was sort of aware about the "key chase" ( keys are actually located off/away from the complex at a "key house" which is a couple of blocks away from the complex..but since we were driving in to begin with, we just stopped at the key house first! Not a big deal actually!) The other issue I needed to "come to grips" with, that another renter mentioned, was that communications were strictly by email/text/or the VRBO app..no "human voice" contact whatsoever ( unless you called the listed phone number you got a human voice answering machine! ;-) Once I accepted that means of communication( they actually were pretty quick to respond with the other methods) ...things went pretty smoothly! Our son's wedding was at The Cathedral of St. Andrew and the reception was at the Grand Rapids Art Museum and this complex was right in between the two! Couldn't ask for a better location and both locations were within blocks/walking distance! The parking passes that came along with the rentals for the parking ramp that adjoins this property added to our peace of mind and security! ( directions/ "you tube" videos! )on how the parking passes/security works within the complex was very helpful indeed! ;-) All the units were fully stocked with what we needed or wanted as far as any cooking "in house" in-between rehearsal dinner and whatnot and was a nice "retreat" from the " hustle and bustle" of everything else! This unit also has a balcony which was nice! The "proprietors" of these units ( Mitten Housing) were very receptive to anything that came up and were very responsive to any of our needs ( again...getting used to texting only! ;-) Would definitely recommend any of these units and this location and would rent again at this location "in a heartbeat"! From beginning to end, everything was impersonal & automated, with no responses from a real person. I couldn’t call anyone to get answers to questions. The accommodations were fine, but the experience was lacking in any hospitality whatsoever.

We stayed at the heart side with my in-laws for a funeral. The communication with the property owners was top notch! The apartment was exactly as described. The location is near many restaurants- all within walking distances. The complex was quiet and respectful. Many amenities such as gym and pool. The kitchen cookery was limited but if you are not there to cook - no problem! Loved that they had coffee available for your use. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would consider staying here again.

The only reason why I have two stars for the above is that #1 The directions should be bullet pointed for simplicity also the employees in the downtown 55 Ottawa should be more friendly to give directions. The best advice is to somehow have them take care of the key fobs so the renter does not have to go to another location to get them. I called it a treasure hunt. After renting it one time you easily get the process- I just can't imagine doing this at night and from out of town. Other then that I loved the location and place. Thank You!
