Beautiful property! Gorgeous 360 views! Reynaldo took care of our daily needs. Max was an attentive host. We couldn’t have ask for a better vacation Definitely want to return!!

We traveled to Playa Flamingo with our extended family which included 5 children ages 15-8yo. Casa Pelicano was a perfect rental accommodation for our party of 10. You will feel blown away by this house! It was gorgeous, impeccable, spacious. But you will never get over the view! Then on top of it all it comes with the service of Maximiliano as the property manager, and Reynoldo as the (garage apt live-in) house manager. Max helped us to rent golf carts which are needed to reach most restaurants, beaches, stores. He also provided vendor recommendations for our excursions. And we tried many of the restaurant recs from him as well. Reynoldo is a hard working and calming presence as he maintains the property, most of the time without you realizing he’s been there. During his day off, we felt lost without him! If you have never been to CR, then you should know how joyful the Costa Ricans are. What we liked about this area, Playa Flamingo, is that you are not on a resort, where you never see much of the country. Playa Flamingo is like a lazy surf town, that seems like a secret destination that most tourists aren’t aware of. And from there we were able to reach other areas- Playa Brasilito (Don’t miss Patagonia Del Mar), Potrero, etc. We truly hope to return to CR, and specifically Casa Pelicano again soon. We are just getting to know the area, and there’s so much more to explore.

We could not have been happier with our stay at Casa Flamingo in Guanacaste! We stayed here with another family and the home easily accommodated all 11 of us. The onsite butler kept the home very clean, sweeping up sand and mopping floors inside and out. It sits up overlooking the ocean on almost every side of the house giving magnificent views. It is a very short walk down to the beach where you can pick your spot easily and there are vendors willing to help set up a tent and chairs, jet skis, massage tables and drinks. While we ventured off property we felt great about leaving our things behind with a huge gate and walls surrounding the house. We rented to 2 golf carts which were waiting on us upon arrival thanks to our property manager, Max. Max is very responsive and helped us set up our own chefs for any amount of meals you’d choose. Any questions we had, Max was quick to answer for us. We loved the house and our trip to Costa Rica and we would definitely be back to stay at Casa Flamingo!

We travel often with our kids and have stayed in a number of VRBO homes - Casa Pelicano is the most incredible place we have ever stayed! The house and location are stunning, the access to beautiful Playa Flamingo is easy, and the service from Max and Reynaldo was amazing. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable! Casa Pelicano was everything we hoped it would be and so much more. The house beautiful and is so well taken care of. It fit two families of five more than comfortably, with room to spare. The views and the setting are spectacular, it’s just a very special house. Max, the property manager was so easy and responsive to work with from start to finish. He helped set up all of the extra things that would be hurdles in most other places. Groceries, golf carts, a handicapped chair at the last minute, restaurant suggestions, etc.…there was simply no stress. Reynaldo, the on site property caretaker, was a very nice added touch. He managed deliveries, kept things extremely clean, did our laundry, cut our fruit, etc. He kept a watchful eye on things…all which was never asked or expected of him. He did it all while we were gone and stayed out of the way when we were enjoying ourselves at the property. Thank you for making our trip to Costa Rica so enjoyable, we will be back!

This house was beyond incredible! We were two families traveling together with 5 kids- and the bunk room was perfect! The other bedrooms were all gorgeous and perfectly equipped and comfortable. Every detail was just breath taking! Of course our favorite place in the house was outside on the gorgeous patio with the most amazing views- I could have stayed there all day! The beach was easy to get to and very nice. The owner was helpful and responsive! And we can't say enough about how wonderful the housekeeper was! We are already planning our return next year!

For one month we thoroughly enjoyed this property. We loved the views of the coastline, the closeness to the beach, the comfort of the house, the outdoor living spaces, the well-appointed kitchen and the incomparable Reynaldo who took such beautiful care of the property and us. Max handled the logistics of delivering friends and family to and from the airport seamlessly. Oh and let’s not forget the pelicans , flamingos and egrets soaring over the property as we had our morning coffee. Only responsible renters should consider this place cuz we are coming back and we want no wear and tear!!

A very special place. Photos and descriptions don’t do Casa Pelicano justice. When our group of 7, including 2 toddlers, entered the premises, it is safe to say we were all a little awestruck. Floor to ceiling windows and doors in the open plan living/dining room and kitchen with high ceilings make it a light, airy and yet comfortable space. It might have been a bit tight if we all wanted to watch TV at the same time due to the limited seating in the living room. But that never proved to be an issue because we spent most of our time on the expansive terrace which can be accessed from any room, all of which are west facing. The 4 ensuite bedrooms are down a wide corridor in their own wing and are very quiet. Each is a good size and all are slightly different but nicely appointed. Favourites were the “master” at the end with the dual aspect view and the “double-double bunk bed” room with actual stairs between them which even the 2 yr old could use without difficulty. The terrace itself is a highlight. It has multiple levels and wraps around 2 sides of the house which sits on a promontory, so offers what is a nearly unencumbered 270 degree spectacular views of the surrounding ocean, beaches and distant countryside. It provides a perch to watch the bird life during the day, truly wonderful sunsets and starry skies at night. There is a wide overhang along the length of the house which provides welcome shade for most of the day. The different seating areas on the various levels along with the excellent wifi coverage allowed people to spread out and do their own thing when it suited them. The soothing sound of waves breaking on shore promoted a relaxed, calming atmosphere and lulled us to sleep at night while a waterfall from the whirlpool to the pool level adds to the ambience. The infinity pool is big and deep enough that adults and kids alike enjoyed themselves. The way the house is nestled on the beautifully landscaped property also offers a fair degree of privacy. A portion of the upper terrace can be seen by those using small parking spot just outside the wall at one end, who tended to be the occasional surfer or people watching the sunset. They were never loud or close enough for it to be at all bothersome. It was like our own little piece of paradise. The kitchen is large and well appointed and we fixed a few meals of our own which we enjoyed outdoors, on the live edge dining table. However, there are some very decent restaurants within a short walk should you opt to eat out. Coco Loco on the beach was a family favourite and the closest to the house. One thing to keep in mind if anyone in your party has mobility issues is that the stairs near the house to access the beach are steep and uneven while going the long way around still requires navigating steep hills and rough sections of road. Golf carts can be hired locally but should be reserved well in advance during the busy season. Max, the host, was very responsive and helpful from start to finish. Arrangements he made for rides to and from the airport were very much appreciated. We also found the caretaker, Reynaldo, to be a real gem. He lives in separate accommodation on site, so was there to greet us and get us settled in upon our arrival. He was also available most days if we needed his assistance for anything. He was primarily responsible doing the housekeeping, tidying up the yard, cleaning the pool and, on occasion, stepped in to wash and fold our laundry since we weren’t allowed to operate the washer and dryer. Despite being around a lot, he was never obtrusive and it was nice not having to deal with such mundane matters ourselves while on vacation. The only minor quibble we had with our stay was that there was only one door key and gate fob between all of us. This made it a challenge to coordinate arrivals and departures when we were doing things separately. All in all, just a really lovely place to spend some quality time on vacation.

Our stay at Casa Pelicanos was absolutely magnificent from start to finish. The property owner Max is amazing. He was extremely helpful giving us many suggestions on restaurants and places to go and see. He helped arrange on site massages for the group. He also arranged for us to have an on-site cook during our stay. He checked in with us a few times to make sure everything was going well and if there was anything we needed. I can’t say enough about how helpful he was. The on-site property care taker Raynaldo was awesome, kept the property, inside and out sparkling, clean at all times. The cook was named Alejandra she’s super sweet and an excellent cook. She made some wonderful Costa Rican meals for us and one evening had her husband come who is a sommelier to do some wine pairings. What a treat that was!!!! The property is absolutely beautiful….. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks to Max we had a wonderful vacation. I highly recommend Casa Pelicanos!!! Can’t wait to stay there again soon.

We were 3 families ( 13 of us), that stayed in this beautiful home. ( pictures don’t do it justice). Max helped us organize and plan everything before we arrived. And Reynoldo took care of EVERYTHING we needed when we were there. Also Chef Dania came on multiple nights ( would recommend many nights) and cooked for all of us both healthy, local, fresh and affordable meals. Everything was perfect. Best vacation ever. The house worked perfectly for our family of 3 adult couples and 4 boys who took over the bunk room. Max was extremely helpful to answer all of our questions and make suggestions on where to go for all of our activities. We all agreed that it was one of our best vacations ever. We look forward to going again.

Maximiliano’s home is perfect for a larger family getaway. It sits up from the beach and has incredible views all around. The beach is just a 2 minute walk away. The home is nicely decorated and very clean! The bunk room actually has 4 queen size bunk beds which was perfect for my son and wife with 2 young children. The property has a pool and a jetted tub that we all enjoyed. Reynaldo the house manager is absolutely wonderful and is such a hard worker. Maxi was very helpful in setting up transportation to places and suggestions for things to do and see. The area of flamingo is quite small and very peaceful so not really in a big tourist area. So if you’re looking for more action then you have to plan your days out and travel for other activities. We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Pelicano and the Costa Rican people. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Wonderful stay with our group at Casa Pelicano, exactly as pictured and more. The views are amazing, great for lounging by the pool and nice setup for outdoor dining. Great bunk bedroom for the kids. Having Reynaldo, the housekeeper, there was an extra bonus. You will love this house!

We just returned home from this amazing home and I already miss it. It is updated and pristine. Reynaldo is the house keeper and is wonderful. Max was extremely helpful with activity/ food suggestions. We had 4 adults and 6 kids in our group and had plenty of space. The outdoor area and view were fabulous. Rent this place now, you won’t be disappointed, we can’t wait to go back. Splurge on Dania, the in home chef, she is wonderful.

The house and property were absolutely beautiful and pictures don’t do it justice. Max was super quick to respond and help setup several excursions for us (fishing, jet skiing, horseback riding, babysitter, and private chef). Reynaldo (housekeeper extraordinaire) was an awesome bonus-both are 5 stars and made this international trip unforgettable! There was plenty of room for 6 kids ages 8-10 and 6 adults to spread out and not be on top of each other. The house had everything you’d need and more when on vacation. I often roll my eyes at reviews that proclaim "not enough stars to give!" but I've got to say it- concerning our stay at Casa Pelicano, there really aren't enough stars to give. We've been fortunate to stay in many, many places around the world, and this is one of the top luxury stays we've been able to experience. The property is stunning, and pictures somehow don't do it justice. Immaculately clean, brand new, every luxury considered, and with dramatic ocean views at every turn. Communication with the owner was excellent- Max had a golf cart at the property awaiting our use, arranged a massage at the house for me, and offered plenty of recommendations. One of my primary hesitations in booking a home rental when traveling abroad is that I may miss the service of a hotel concierge. No need to worry about that here, as Max is able and eager to help with anything. The shining star of our trip was Sr. Reynaldo, who kept the home fantastically clean (even with our two small kids!), did all our laundry, and anticipated anything we could need. Both kids (and us!) were so sad to leave him on our last day. Huge thank you to Max & Reynaldo for making our holiday incredible. If this home is available, book it. You won't be disappointed.

We stayed at Max’s place the middle of March 2022. From the minute we walked thru the door, we were blown away! We had 3 families, 6 adults and 7 kids ranging in age from 4-9. The accommodations were perfect. A room for each set of adults with a pull out bed in one of the rooms for the youngest child. The bunk bed room was a huge hit with the other kids and close to the kitchen, so they could wake up and head to the kitchen with their iPads without waking the adults or others. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need - including a ton of kid friendly dishes and cups. We mostly did take out, but had we cooked, we could have made gourmet meals! We also loved the outdoor areas for eating and having a little bit of separate space to relax. Reynaldo keeps the house and outside areas so clean! His attention to detail is impeccable! He did some laundry for us, cleaned up after the kids ate and made our beds. We were so appreciative of him. Now the pool area and views! Omg - breathtaking 270 degree views of the sunset. I think I took about 200 pics of just the sky! Our kids loved the pool (so warm) and we were happy we had a nice area to sit with a cocktail and watch them swim. The location of this place is so great. Very close to Coco Loco (can walk via beach at low tide) and also close to Playa Flamingo town area and Potrero. Max helped us rent golf carts to get around which made it so fun and easy. Max also coordinated our transportation to and from the airport, answered any and every question we had about the area and provided a great list of restaurants to try! It was truly an exceptional stay! Thank you for sharing your beautiful place with us. We miss it already and will be back! One of the best vrbos I’ve ever stayed in!

What the listing doesn’t convey is the sound of the waves against the rocks below the property, or the feel of the breeze, or the out-of-body experience watching the sunset everyday. This place is truly special.

Outstanding villa has high-end furnishings and gourmet kitchen. The villa owner Max and his housekeeper, Raynaldo, were amazingly gracious, hospital and accommodating. We came with a group of friends to celebrate my 60th birthday and couldn’t believe the comfort, convenience and location of this villa. The spectacular beach was a three minute walk away. The infinity pool and deck allowed us to watch a perfect sunset every evening. Playa Flamingo is among the finest beaches in Costa Rica (clean, gentle waves, shade, soft sand with a great little restaurant Coco Loco) We would return in a heartbeat. Probably the nicest villa we’ve ever rented!

We loved staying at Casa Pelicano - it was one of the finest vacation homes we've ever experienced. Maxi is very responsive and helpful with check in and gave a great list of things to do while we were in Costa Rica. The house is spectacular, totally updated and modern. The outdoor area is amazing, we loved spending time on the deck watching the sunset every night. I can't recommend this property enough - we are already planning a trip back!

We just returned from an amazing week at the Casa Pelicano. From the moment we booked, Max (the owner) was in touch and helped us plan every detail of our trip. We have stayed at many five star hotels in the past, and Max is more impressive than any hotel concierge. He helped to coordinate our airport transfers, several chefs coming to the house, a masseuse, a yoga class, boogie boards for our kids, local restaurant reservations, and anything else we needed. The house itself is spectacular - we were three families, and the house was perfect for us. The views are amazing and the outside area is furnished so nicely we never wanted to be inside (but the inside is beautiful as well). The sunsets each night were simply incredible, and the pool set up was beautiful. The house was cleaned daily, and they even washed and folded our laundry! The beach is about a 5 minute walk away - it is a bit rocky, but it was no problem to walk there, even with our small children. Our only regret was not staying longer, and we would go back in a heartbeat. It's a five star experience in five star accommodation. Thanks, Max, for a wonderful week!

Max is very attentive and covers every detail. Reynaldo took care of every need we had and even things we didn’t need. My wife was trying to figure out how to bring him home. This was by far the best experience we have ever had with any rental.

Casa Pelicano was an absolute dream. The house is absolutely gorgeous. Stocked with everything you’ll need. The pool overlooking the ocean was nirvana and Reynaldo our house attendant was amazing and so sweet and attentive. Max was there for us during our entire trip, sincerely interested in how we were enjoying our vacation and the house. He was also so helpful with local recommendations. I can’t wait to go back. Casa Pelicano and its staff were perfect for our two couple (early 60s). Maxx, the owner, was very responsive to any questions both before and during our stay. Reynaldo was tireless in cleaning, laundry, and helping us with small things. The house was immaculate, the views were breathtaking, and the location was great....just steps to the beach and several restaurants. One of our favorite VRBOs ever. The pelicans were a lot of fun to watch!

I can’t say enough about how amazing our stay at Casa Pelicano was. The house was beyond beautiful, comfortable and every sunset was better than the last. Everything you need in the kitchen to cook a huge family meal, or just a short walk down the hill to eat at an amazing restaurant right on the beach! We rented ATV’s, wave runners and even rode horses on the beach! Max was an amazing host, constantly in touch with him to help us with anything we needed and such a nice guy. Our property assistant, Reynaldo, went above and beyond for us and was so friendly. There’s so much beauty and fun in this area, you have to experience it for yourself! I will definitely be visiting this amazing dream house again; it’s one of a kind!

Words cannot describe how amazing this place is!! Casa Pelicano is the most beautiful property with stunning views of the ocean, newly renovated and an awesome pool and jacuzzi with outdoor furniture all around the house and cute little hammocks for breakfast. The sunsets each night of my stay were so amazing! I cried in gratitude each day - what a beautiful vacation we had! The staff and host Max were stellar - stayed in contact with us the whole time; arranging an ATV to the house, a private chef for dinner, a jet ski tour and much more - they were on hand for anything we needed; sending us all the cool things to do while we were there (since it was our first time to Costa Rica.) The restaurant within walking distance to the house called Coco Loco was perfect for lunch or dinner on the sand ! The kitchen at Casa Pelicano is stocked with everything you may need for cooking and overall the house is my dream home. It was truly our favorite vacation and the best vacation home!

My party spent two relaxing weeks at Casa Pelicano and would highly recommend it! The property is very well taken care of, the kitchen is well equipped for home meals and there are ample restaurants within walking/driving distance. Max is ready to address any requests/issues that may arise and you will feel well supported during your visit. The property itself is lovely with commanding views of the spectacular sunsets, the sound of surf on the rocks below the cliff and the comfort of shaded outdoor furniture and a refreshing pool. This a wonderful property for small and large parties alike, thank you for the adventure!

Playa Flamingo is perfect for a family and friends including for teenagers. The highlight for us were the nightly sunsets and the private pool. The beach is minutes away via the steps at the end of the small lane. Max's help and recommendations are invaluable and ensured that we had a fun and safe holidays. He can help organize a cook, activities, and general advice including the odd trip(s) to urgent care. We will be back!

We had a great stay at Casa Pelicano & will definitely return. It has to be one of the nicer, newer (remodeled) homes there. The photos of patio & pool don’t do it justice. So peaceful & relaxing with the most amazing views. Can’t thank Max enough for his responsiveness & accommodating our many requests. The home had every amenity but you will need to visit the grocery store for the basics. The housekeepers which we were not used to at first became part of the family & did an excellent job (don’t worry they do not intrude). Max hooked us up with an amazing chef Angela via Costa Catering that cooked our catch from our fishing trips. Truly five star & it is much nicer eating at home & swimming all night. Our only suggestion is to fix the living room television so that future guests can watch the 2021 Olympic Games and replace some of the bedding. Can’t wait to return for a longer vacation.

We had a fantastic time in Casa Pelicano! The house is spacious, with amazing views and equipped with everything you would need. We were 3 families, we were all very comfortable the house never felt crowded. The beach is beautiful! We walked down to the beach every day and enjoyed swimming in the warm water, we rented jet skis and also did a horseback riding tour... It was truly fantastic!! In the afternoons we would come back and watch the sunset from the pool... One day that we were visited by monkeys right there on the trees around the house! On top of all that, the crew that works in the house was amazing, respectful and super helpful! The owner Max was also super helpful and available at all times!! We hired a local chef Max recommended for my birthday who was also amazing! Bottom line, we absolutely loved the place and we can’t wait to go back! My husband and I have stayed in many rental houses and this one definitely tops the list! The only thing that could make casa pelicano even better is a hammock close to the pool area... that would be amazing!

My husband and I and our 3 adult kids stayed at Casa Pelicano for 13 days for his birthday. What a gem! A true home away from home. This property was even better than the VRBO description and photos. It is very clean and modern. I’ve never had a kitchen outfitted so well. It’s a great house to have guests as every bedroom has its own bathroom and a view and door to the patio. My only criticism is the beds. They are hard, as well as the pillows. The house sits up on a point so that the views are spectacular. The beach is just a short walk. The house comes with a housekeeper which was a real treat! Theresa even did our laundry.Max the owner is by far the best owner we have ever dealt with. He helped us make tours and gave us suggestions on different activities in the area. He was always available with a text on WhatsApp. Thank you Max for a fabulous vacation at Casa Pelicano!I highly recommend a private sunset sailing cruise with Panache sailing.We had a chef Dania Fallas come prepare a special dinner, I highly recommend her, so knowledgeable and talented.
