Meine Buchung wurde 2 Std vor Anreise vom Gastgeber ohne Angaben von Gründen storniert, obwohl wir von einer langen Reise kamen und dort einen Zwischenstopp einlegen wollten. Wir waren müde und erschöpft und mussten uns was neues besorgen, was alles sehr kompliziert machte,weil die Stornierung sehr kurzfristig war. Nie wieder diesen Gastgeber.

Picking up the keys was ok. The rest was not.

Tidyness was bordering average, or perhaps just a bit better. But if you went barefooted from the room to the bathroom, the dust collected on your feet, as you could see it once you stepped into the shower. The remote controller for the TV did not work. I bought a couple of batteries in the nearby store and changed them (yes, I know how to install two AAA batteries correctly into a remote controller). It still did not work, so first I wrote (using booking.com's messaging) and then phoned the owner, without any reaction whatsoever. The most annoying thing was that the second morning (just checking out) I realised that my mobile phone holder was stolen from by bicycle, which I had placed the evening before under the stairs inside the building. It could not have been stolen by a random person from the street, only by someone who must have had a key to the building. Having been upset and in a hurry to arrive at a conference, I forgot a little USB stick in the room. I wrote again to the owner about the disappearance of my mobile phone holder and about the USB-stick, mentioning that during the afternoon I shall return to collect it, but again received no answer. Two hours later I phoned the owner and told him about the stolen phone holder and the USB-stick. He did not even apologise in any way, merely asked about the exact place where I left my USB-stick. I told him the time I would return, he said ok and hung up the phone. In the afternoon I retrieved the USB-stick with the help of the cleaning lady, but absolutely no trace, no sign and no reaction from the owner. After all, I have already paid for the room, and from his part the deal was over, he had no interest in helping me. It is not his fault that there are thieves in this world, but when those thievese have access to his rented building and he does not even say or write at least that he is sorry, then we have a problem. I would seriously recommend booking.
