Lovely property and view; clean; quiet; relaxing. A little challenging driving up from town w winding/narrow road.

We stayed 4 nights in September. The property is beautiful with a wonderful view and great amenities. Would stay again, if the chance ever arises.

We came out here from the East Bay for a low-key weekend trip. We swam every day and stargazed in the hot tub every night. Saw the tail end of the Perseids shower and a meteor so low we thought it might actually touch down. Hard to find a place with a mix of excellent food 5 minutes from vibrant wildlife but Fairfax has got it. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful view, very close to town. Great location!!! Road is a bit tricky to get up to house, definitely need to go slow and pay attention for oncoming cars. Host was great, really didn’t require much while there since we were doing a lot of sightseeing.

We had the most wonderful time at Vicki's beautiful property. Every aspect of this home is outstanding. The kitchen is fully equipped although we mostly had food delivered, the living room and dining room are small but cozy, the outside patio is large and so inviting, the bed was very comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was fabulous! but the absolute best thing about Vicki's place is the view overlooking the infinity pool that absolutely took our breath away! We had lazy mornings by the pool or on the beautiful patio, then we would go and explore the surrounding area.... we hiked Mount Tamalpais which you can see from the pool! we visited some wineries, had a lovely long walk at Point Reyes, drove some of Route 1 and visited cute little towns but always made sure we were back to enjoy a few hours by the pool every afternoon with a cocktail. It was our favorite part of the day! We enjoyed our stay so much, it truly is a little slice of heaven. We hope to return again one day!

We had the best time at the Mountain Retreat! The pool and view from it is just stunning, and the porch is perfect for an afternoon charcuterie board. As others have mentioned, it's a windy and narrow way up! However, the drivers are quite cautious and my husband and I felt comfortable enough walking down into town along the road.

We stayed at this property in April for a week-long getaway. The property is gorgeous with fantastic mountain views. We stayed in the downstairs unit. The vintage look and feel of the decor made everything very warm and inviting. That was very comfortable and made for good night's sleep. Outside there is furniture under a covered deck for you to lounge on. The pool was too cold for us to use but the infinity pool gave great views to the mountainside below the location is in acquaint town of Fairfax. One thing to be mindful of is the challenging drive up and down the mountain to get to the home. The road is a two-way road that is barely wide enough for one car. When someone comes the other way you have to be creative on how to get by them. At night up near the house are a pair of deer that seem to have no fear of anybody. Overall, I would highly recommend this home for a couple's getaway.

Amazing location and quiet! Close enough to San Francisco (about 45 minute drive) to enjoy the sites during the day and enjoy a quiet evening/night away from the hustle and bustle. Relaxing in the hot tub and the shower/sauna at the end of the day was amazing! Vicki was very attentive to any questions we had prior and during our stay.

We had a wonderful time at Vics property! The place was beautiful and in the most beautiful setting. I wish we could have used the pool, but was too cold. Loved the coziness of the space, the steam shower was amazing, the jacuzzi under the stars, impeccable landscaping and the cute little family of raccoons who visited every night! BUT, what I appreciated the most was how warm, accommodating, and quick to respond Vic was. We will definitely try to get back to stay again!

We have stayed at several rentals in Fairfax and this is our favorite. It is the downstairs level of a larger house and the upstairs is also available for rent, but the owner doesn't rent both at the same time, so you never have to share the amazing deck, hot tub and pool with other guests. Downstairs is nice because you can walk right out onto the big deck and enjoy the hot tub. There is even deck access directly from the bathroom so you can go between the shower and hot tub without dripping water everywhere. We didn't try the pool because the water was too cold to use in the winter. Inside, it has everything you need, including a well-stocked kitchen. The location is close to downtown Fairfax but I would be scared to walk down the narrow winding road into town. Overall, a great place for couples to stay when visiting Fairfax.

Private and lovely place in a cute Northern Californian town. We really enjoyed the hot tub and steam shower. It is also a really central location for everything (Highway 1, wine country, San Francisco, etc). Clean and comfortable place with a beautiful view. Excellent communication from the owner. We would definitely stay again!

We chose the property because of the amazing view of Mt Tam! The seclusion of the property is what we wanted to celebrate our anniversary. Kitchen was well appointed w/ everything I needed to make some gourmet meals, the bed is VERY comfortable & the linens are top quality! The steam shower was a bonus! We hot tubbed every day & stargazing was fantastic! We needed a lighter for the BBQ & the property manager brought one over immediately. If you're looking for a place to unwind with lakes, trails, & great dining close by this is a perfect place! Close proximity to Sausalito, Tiburon, Golden Gate Bridge, & adjoining beaches up & down Hwy 1.

So beautiful. With a beautiful view. And even though it was a downstairs place it had lots of light. Did I mention the warm floors? Hot tub? And shower sauna? We really loved our stay

We really enjoyed the property. It had excellent views for sunrise and sunset. The rooms were very clean. Loved the steamroom. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Will definitely stay there again.

Had a wonderful couple of days here at Mountainview Retreat. Better than the pictures (which are gorgeous) this spot is amazing! Comfy bed, great outdoor space and located close to great restaurants and hiking. Loved our time there and did I mention the pool is wonderful? We will be back!

As I entered the property , opened the gate, walked down a few steps, the view took my breath away . I had to sit down and stare. If you want to see Mount Tamalpais in all its glory and experience sunrise with an array of colors, this is the place. The care and the quality of the house is exceptional, which reflects the owners dedication in maintaining such a lovely home environment. I know I will return. Juana

We had a lovely, tranquil stay.

Lovely little place. Quiet for the most part. The neighbors were having work done on the house, but that’s not the owners fault. The only thing is that it’s a tiny fridge. Luckily we had an ice chest and just went to town and bought more ice every few days to keep our stuff cold.

This property was perfect. Cozy and comfortable indoor space with breathtaking outdoor spaces that we spent all day enjoying! The neighborhood was idyllic and charming and I’m still dreaming about this view from the pool. We absolutely will stay here again. ♥️♥️

We went on a different hike each day/day trip, enjoying the beauty of the surrounding area. What we loved was our return "home" to relax in the pool and/or hot tub. We were amazed by all the deer and wildlife we saw, from racoons to a bobcat. Fairfax is a wonderful city, loved the Wednesday Farmer's Market and the many great restaurants/food nearby. It was a quiet neighborhood which was very appealing to us and appreciated the gate for security. The photos were spot on and check-in/out were easy. Your home was very comfortable and clean! We left like we were at home with the "no shoes" policy. It is obvious that you take great pride. I love your layered gardens/landscaping. Large and comfortable outdoor area with terrific views. Indoor space very clean and comfortable and all needs anticipated. Perfect area to hike and go to the beach. Plan on making this an annual end of school year decompression.

Couldn’t have been a more lovely week. It was well-received as a special birthday get-away. Highly recommended.
