This is the perfect place to stay with kiddos. The kayaks and pool kept them busy most days. The sunsets are incredible and the golf cart was a fun add on. John is an exceptional host. He made sure everything was going good and any issue that arose, he would take care of immediately. We would stay again and again. In fact, we never wanted to leave it in the first place.

Pool looked great although we didn’t use it mainly because of the weather. We celebrated Christmas and Thanksgiving with local and out of town family. The Host, John, even surprised us by setting up a Christmas tree which added to our Christmas spirit.

This was our second year in a row coming to John’s home for our fall break. The house is perfect, the pool is perfect, the view is perfect!

Loved this house! The amenities and pool were as described. We have stayed in Dauphin Island but never on the bay side. We loved it. All 3 kids loved the pool and kayaks. Hoping to visit again.

First time on Dauphin Island for 4 adults. The home was very nicely decorated and conveniently located. Having the golf cart was a nice bonus as we drove it every time we went to the beach or restaurants. The pool was great! Owner was very accommodating and friendly and gave great instructions. Would stay here again.

This house was spacious and clean! Huge kitchen with everything we needed, even an air fryer. It was beautifully decorated and had great wifi sevice. We had the best of both worlds with the pool and then the beach with in 20 feet! My daughter and son in law really enjoyed the kayaks. It was a perfect week and we would definitely rent this house again!

Wonderful house, great pool, John and his family were great to deal with. Great experience, will do again. Great neighbors. Daulphin Island is a must see.

We had a wonderful week and enjoyed staying at Ain’t Life Grand for a second time. The house is all inclusive in terms of something to do for every age and stage. We enjoyed the kayaks, fishing, swimming, shell collecting and more all right outside the door. John is a great host and the house is equipped with everything you need. Looking forward to visiting again someday.

The pictures don’t do this home justice… it’s AMAZING!!! I can’t say enough good things about Ain’t Life Grand and the owner John. My wife and our 3 kids (7-11) had one of our best vacations to date. One really cool thing we enjoyed of many, were the crab traps left for us! My son and I fished for crab all week and on the last night we steamed our weeks catch along with some fresh oysters we found on the dock pylons for dinner that night. It was a really fun learning experience for us. We’ll never forget Dauphin Island!!!

We had a wonderful time there. The islamd is amazing. We enjoyed the public beaches as well as our beach in the sound. This house was great. The gold cart is a must and the ONLY way to go about the island. We enjoyed the pool thoroughly and took the sea kayaks out. John was clear in his communication about the property and check in process. This was a perfect vacation.

Wonderful property with plenty of room right on the bay. Kids loved the pool and only steps away from the water. Owner John was very helpful and went out of his way to communicate with us. Would definitely recommend the property to others and stay there again!

Beautiful property with lots of amenities. John is a great host. The swimming pool was used everyday during our stay. I highly recommend this property if you have kids. Location is fabulous.

This was our 2nd stay and we enjoyed every minute.

Our family of 7 had the best beach trip ever. At first we were worried, never being on DI before, and thinking we were settling for less because it was bay side and not ocean side. We were so very wrong!! This bay side is the most relaxing, calm location, pure paradise! The host John keeps you completely informed and even goes out of his way to give you local eats and activity tips!! We were already planning our return trip before we left the covered deck above the pool by the waters edge. We woke up each morning to a beautiful sunrise and ended each day with the best sunsets ever!

We love this house- John is a fantastic owner and super responsive. Can't wait to come back next summer!

We had a wonderful time on our stay at the beach house! The house is a perfect location. Private pool with a small area of sand on the bay water right behind the house. The kids loved the kayaks!! Short golf cart ride to the bigger beach with bigger waves! We had such a good time we booked the house for next year the day we checked out!!

Very nice, as described and clean. Had everything we needed for cooking, nice grill that was clean on back deck, plenty of linens and beach towels. All appliances, ac, hot water, ect.., work great. House is right on the beach. Pool was clean & plenty big enough for 4 kids to play in. Outdoor shower and hose to clean off sand. Shaded parking under deck fit minivan easily. Restaurants we visited on the island were good and reasonably priced. Ample fishing opportunities on island and right at the house. Kayaks were fun to have available. Owner communicates wonderfully. He called a few days before with all the info we needed to be prepared for our trip. Responds quickly & knowledgeable about the island. Would defiantly stay here in the future.

This is our second year staying at "Ain't Life Grand" and both times were absolutely wonderful. The house was very clean and had all the necessities for a great vacation - the kitchen is fully stocked with everything one may need, the beds were comfy and clean, there were even toys for little ones that our toddler enjoyed playing with during our stay. John provided recommendations on what to do in the area and where to eat and shop, which came in handy. Overall, we had a wonderful time and are already looking forward to coming back next year.

Had a wonderful experience renting from John, he is a fabulous host and his property is a beautiful, quiet beach retreat. Second year back and loved it just as much as the first!

We had 5 adults and a 14 month old, relaxing vacation with plenty of room. Small beach front was awesome, kayaks and pool also great. John was absolutely the best on communication!

John Pearson was a delightful host and had great communication throughout our experience. The house was perfect, well appointed. Maybe some new cooking pans recommended, but that's all. We cooked every day. The location on the bay was ideal for still sunsets without the wind, but yet easy access for beach waves whenever the kids wanted to venture almost literally across the street. Pool is a no brainer with kids! Kayaks were great as the sound is shallow enough even for the younger kids. Love Dauphin Island and we will be back!

The pictures for this listing are a bit humble - the amenities, location, and ambiance really are spectacularly perfect! The sunrise and sunsets from the deck are incredible. The home has everything you need for a perfect getaway - pool, kayaks, beach toys, a fully-equipped kitchen, and plenty of seating indoors and out to enjoy time with loved ones or friends. It also is located in a great area on the island. Just steps from the sound, it was a great escape when the ocean side winds were coming in strong. Yet, it is less than a 5-minute walk from the ocean side. We thoroughly enjoyed both - fishing in the sound and swimming in the ocean. The home is clean and decorated in a lovely beach theme. I enjoyed the 4 huge sliding glass doors - 2 in the living room and one in each of the sound facing bedrooms. Even when you were inside, it was like you were surrounded by water - amazing! John is a wonderful and thoughtful host. He gave us great food and restaurant recommendations (YES -we got Skinners seafood and had a shrimp boil!) The island itself is a great place for kids and very low-key. It was just what our family needed for an amazing spring break!

Beautiful property and comfortable accommodations. John had great communication with me throughout the entire process. We had paid to have the pool heated for our stay. The pool did not heat up and I messaged John to let him know we were never able to use the pool and he responded immediately and refunded that portion of our payment, and even let us know after our departure that the pool pump had gone out and apologized for the inconvenience. Regardless of the pool situation, we had a great stay at Ain’t Life Grand!!!

My friend and I took our boys (11-14) on a beach vacation. We were able to relax, and the boys enjoyed the beach and the pool. They also played basketball several times at the park nearby. My older son said the sunset on the beach was his favorite memory. The property was great, and the hosts clearly maintain it to ensure guest have a great experience. Great hosts! I definitely recommend it.

This house is wonderful, either for adults only or families. Very clean, and John is a WONDERFUL host!! I would recommend this house and host as a 10 if possible!!
