The warm welcome, the staff, the amazing food, the beautiful rooms. The connection with the coffee farm and the history of the house and the families who have lived in and developed it was fascinating.

Die Hacienda ist ein altes Kolonialhaus mit riesengrossem gepflegten Garten, mit wunderschöner Sicht, einfach traumhaft. Alle Mitarbeitenden waren sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich, hilfsbereit, wie haben uns sehr wohl gefüllt.

Beautiful setting; very historical. Plenty of space to wander and relax.

Wonderful historic villa with beautiful garden and surroundings. The staff was very friendly and the food nice. The tour at the coffee farm was very interesting and informative. Thanks for everything.

Beautiful and comfortable old hacienda with much character. Our family spent much time enjoying the garden and grounds that have a lovely vegetable and herb garden, ornamental plants, some ancient native trees, and many birds. Excellent coffee, excellent food, and wonderful service from the host and cook staff. The staff at the Hacienda accommodated our vegetarian dietary request for dinner, and I believe they went out of their way to buy additional local produce for our dinner. We selected Hacienda La Esperanza in part for its affiliation with the Aquiares Coffee Farm, the largest coffee farm in Costa Rica. The Hacienda is on a ridge with views of the hillside coffee farm and quaint company town. The Aquiares Coffee Farm tour, booked separately, was informative and enjoyable. This was truly a unique experience in Costa Rica. We loved our stay here, start to finish. The staff were so warm and welcoming and the food was excellent! Our kids loved riding horses and relaxing in the hacienda with a good book. The grounds were stunning and we had a direct view of the volcano. The farm is so close to many activities and adventures, we can't recommend this place enough. We will be back!!

The room with the three beds was beautifully decorated and comfortable but could have used a window to the outside. But that is just personal preference.

Needed a little TLC in places - for example, lock on the separate private bathroom door needed fixing

Arrived late in day in the rain so not a great impression. Breakfast in the morning in the sun gave us the sense we were looking for
