My family and I had the absolute best time and felt right at home at the Modern Asheville Sanctuary on Elk Mountain! My husband and I (early 30s) met my brother and sister-in-law (mid 30s) their 18month year old son and my mom (mid 60s) and we all stayed at this location and now we want to rebook it for every Asheville reunion! The location is unbeatable. You’re just about ten minutes away from downtown Asheville for all the downtown exploration, but still get a great view of the mountains and have the seclusion of a mountain getaway. The house met all our needs where we felt right at home, had a great deck for relaxing, an open living room and social area, but also had plenty of room to escape for peace and quiet. This was great for a family gathering and I highly recommend this home! While here, (late March) we saw eight bears around the property! Pretty cool!!

This house was the perfect fit for our group of girls. It’s beautiful and spacious. The kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of room to cook. The back deck has gorgeous views. My only not so great thing to say is that the fireplace in the living room didn’t work. But other than that, I loved the house! We also had no problems getting Ubers to and from the mountain! We used them to travel downtown, to and from the airport, and to the Biltmore! Just make sure you give yourself some time. I would definitely stay at this home again.

The home was beautiful, well stocked and had some gorgeous views. It was neat to experience the variety of clouds and weather and the beauty that brought each morning. A bit of nerve wrecking drive up the street but after the first few up and downs you get used to it. Would def recommend a stay at this beautiful home! We were lucky enough to have a mother bear and 3 cubs visit us on the drive way one morning. We had great views from the windows 😁

Spacious and well maintained house was perfect space for our family. We enjoyed the mountain views from the deck and loved having a finished basement.

The house was everything we expected. Spacious with fun room downstairs for pool. Bring your own shampoo’s and what not as there is very very little in the house for most products that are similar. The wifi from the email was not correct but was able to get the correct info in a very timely manner. Overall, fun stay.

We rented the home over The Asheville Marathon weekend and it was perfect. Close to downtown and all the action but secluded enough for quiet and beautiful surroundings. Just be prepared for a hilly approach with a few hairpin turns.

We all enjoyed staying in this lovely home which has a beautiful view that can be enjoyed from the living room, dining, kitchen and master bedroom. The house is tastefully decorated with neutral colors. The beds were all very comfortable. It was a great house for our family reunion. I would highly recommend this home. We look forward to coming back to Asheville again in the future.

We all absolutely loved our stay in this home! Checking in and out was easy, the house was beautiful and well stocked. Views were amazing! Will definitely come back to visit.

The only thing I would note (and perhaps I just missed it) is that the drive up to the house is sprinkled with hairpin turns. If you aren’t from the mountain area, this was an unexpected detail. Fortunately, the Uber drivers in town are very comfortable with those types of roads and did not question anything. They got us to and from my destinations safely. But as far as the house, it was absolutely perfect!

It was great to be able to park the cars inside the garage. The home was spotless and very well cared for. We had plenty of space for the five of us, and didn’t need to use the downstairs bedroom, though that was a great space for kids. The pool table and gym were an added bonus! (There was no way I was going to try to run up and down the steep hill the house is located on!). We have rented VRBOs in the U.S. and all over the world and this would definitely be ranked as one of the best. Thank you so very much!! I just wish we could have stayed longer!

It's secluded and private, but only a few minutes to all the great restaurants downtown. We will definitely stay here again!

Stunning views and a beautiful home. This house made our Asheville stay feel so relaxing and luxurious. The proximity to downtown Asheville is fantastic. The views up on the mountain are absolutely gorgeous. And the home is clean, beautifully decorated, and so comfortable. We will definitely be returning. Loved every minute of it!

The location was very convenient to downtown - a short 10 min drive down the mountain for plenty of restaurants, shopping, and groceries. The view is even better than the photos. The porch wraps around the house so if you get a rogue nice day in the winter it’s perfection to sit outside and just take in the view. With COVID we didn’t want to eat out so we cooked every meal and ate at that breakfast table every meal overlooking the blue ridge. Every cooking appliance you’re going to need is there. We never got a chance to play pool but if that’s your thing there’s a gorgeous pool table in the basement. Highly recommended.

Our stay started out a little rocky with the house not being clean upon our arrival. This was due to a miscommunication between the rental company and the cleaning service. However, our local contact stepped in, on Thanksgiving, and rushed to get the house cleaned up that night for us. After the initial hiccup our stay overall was nothing short of wonderful. The house is beautiful with gorgeous views and plenty of space for a large family to stay together while still having plenty of space to yourselves. The open concept main floor was perfect for our group, leaving plenty of room to spread out with various games and activities while still feeling like we were in the same room. We will definitely stay here again.
