Our 3-generation family stayed at this beautiful home for a week. Overall we had a nice relaxing stay. The architecture is stunning and the location is perfect: right on the beach, but private and secure. The back patio and pool are amazing. But what made our stay most enjoyable was the staff, Tony, Umberto, and Anna, who went above and beyond every day. There were also some significant problems. The home is older and needs some repairs. One bedroom toilet didn't work but was repaired. There was a leak in the ceiling of another bedroom and it rained often. The balcony door on a third bedroom leaked water inside when it rained, ruining a computer left on the floor. One of us got locked in a bathroom because the door lockset froze. We had to remove the door from its hinges. The kitchen needs some serious attention. Many of the appliances need to be thoroughly cleaned and upgraded. There is no sink disposal so food waste is put in a trash bin in a cabinet which is not tightly sealed, attracting lots of flies. The flies were constantly in the kitchen, often landing on food being prepared. There were tiny ants throughout the house: in the bathroom sinks, on the floors, and even inside our laptops. 6 of 9 family members got travelers' diarrhea even though we only ate at the house, so the home's water filtration system might be an issue. This house has the potential to be superb. But it really needs some repairs and upgrades. The dedicated staff was what made our stay enjoyable.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Marea Baja! Tony, Humberto, and Anna took such good care of us from the moment we arrived. The property is beautiful, with the pool and fresh food and drinks right there, and the beach steps away, it is hard to even want to leave to go out to dinner or explore PV! Tony and his crew went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, including finding Nutella for our very picky 7 year old! We loved absolutely everything about this villa and are already planning a return trip to the same villa next year!

The villa is beautiful, the location was perfect. The staff (Tony,Humberto and Anna ) were all amazing. From the moment we arrived they made us feel like family. We all had such a great time we didn’t want to leave. We can’t wait to go back.

Eight of us spent 6 days at Villa Marea Baja in early April. The villa was amazing. The three bedrooms on the second floor were fantastic. The waves lapping on the beach at night were perfect. The 4th bedroom is in the basement and tiny and probably shouldn’t be considered except in a pinch. The staff were all great and the food was very good. We spent a lot of time in the pool and almost none on the beach as it was overrun by beachgoers. Didn’t consider that the local families were all off for Easter. We all felt very safe and it wasn’t a major issue, but did get noisy.

Wow, beautiful beautiful beautiful. Staff is phenomenal. Chef is a real chef, ask for the mole. Safe, clean and I wish I could live there.

This was the second time that we have stayed here and we have already booked for next year. We love this area, walkable to the romantic zone and all of the great restaurants. It sits right on the ocean/beach so if the sounds of crashing waves, daily whale sightings during season and cool breezes bothers you pick another place. You are welcomed with Margaritas, fresh guacamole and appetizers, depending on your arrival time.Tony, Anna and Umberto, were amazing We generally ate breakfast there and sometimes lunch, this year we stayed in one night and Umberto prepared fresh Mahi Mahi. There are three main bedrooms with very comfortable king beds and en-suite bathrooms, there is also fourth bedroom downstairs, small like it was a maids quarters with a trundle, no view.Two of the three bedrooms have ocean views and the third is on the back with a little balcony for a parcel ocean view. You can still hear the waves from your bed there. The house itself has lots of options to enjoy the fabulous views of PV, you can see all of the way to Los Arcos, the Marina and across the bay to Nayarit. This house is very special, we feel very safe and at home here. I hope you get to enjoy this wonderful home one day!!

What a beautiful villa! It is truly breathtaking. We walked in & felt like we were in a dream! The pictures do not do it justice. The STAFF; Blanca, my sweet concierge who I emailed with for one year! She took excellent care of the planning. We stayed for a week & did multiple excursions, in villa tequila tasting & even an in villa mariachi band. The band is a must!! It was a band of TEN & they all were extremely talented! You will entertain the entire neighborhood too ;-) Chef Berto & Tony the butler were always smiling & eager to please! They quickly tended to every persons needs & went above & beyond every day. I am lactose intolerant & chef had no problem catering to my dietary needs at each meal. Marta the house cleaner was there every day, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, exchanging towels & doing laundry. Very pleasant! There truly weren’t any issues. Nothing is perfect so I’ll explain some preference items below but overall extremely happy with our trip & choice of villa. There are 3 beautiful suites, each with their own private bathroom. 2 ocean front rooms and 1 ocean view. The fourth room is small & on the lower level without windows & secluded from the rest of the villa. This room is definitely more suitable for a nanny or older child / young adult, as the owners note in the description. Other than the lower level bedroom, the entire home is open air! No true doors or windows other than the doors on the exterior for security. We were traveling with our 8 month old daughter who is used to a dark, quiet room for naps. This presented an unforeseen challenge for our particular situation. I only note this for any other parents traveling with young children. If you are sensitive to noise while sleeping, you will want ear plugs bc the amazing ocean crashes loudly all day & night. You are truly ocean front here! Lastly, the location is about 10 mins drive to the pier & downtown. There is always traffic so it is more direct to walk if you’re not in a rush. The walk is about 25 mins. I learned there are no private beaches in Mexico so you will have many people, locals & tourists, on the beach every day in front of the villa. The villa is very secure & we never felt unsafe. If you are looking for a more private beach with less people & less noise, you will need to travel further from Puerto Vallarta for that. Overall our trip was 10/10 and worth every penny! Everything about our stay in the Villa was wonderful! We had 3 couples celebrating birthdays and there was more than enough space for all of us. We spent most days enjoying the sun on the patio and the pool. The ocean is only a few steps away which makes it easy to run in for a swim or just a walk and beach. Bedrooms were perfect, each with their own bathrooms and privacy. The stars of the week are the staff that Joe has assembled. Tony is there to make sure you have everything and anything to make your stay memorable, from inflating pool floats to mixing the best margaritas. Ana was delightful and the home was always in immaculate shape. Humberto’s cooking was phenomenal, starting with breakfast to order every morning to dinners that beat any restaurant in the City. Make sure to try his Paella. This was our first time with a house staff and it definitely will change the way we travel.

This villa is incredible! It is beautiful and open. The house is just perfect. It has everything you need like your own pool, large patio, lounge chairs, a beach. The best part was our crew. Blanca, Humberto, Tony, and Ana. They are the best. We used to go to large resorts in PV. Not anymore, this is our new home away from home.

We had seen this property from the beach on a past trip and were delighted to find it on VRBO when planning to head to PV. The lead up to the trip was very professional, with Mexi-Travels (Blanca) helping us with everything including excursions, massages, stocking of the kitchen, airport travel etc ... Then ... the Great Southwest Meltdown happened. We spent multiple days in long multi-hour lines at the airport and were tempted to give up. Our seven day stay seemed impossible as no flights were available and Southwest customer service was as bad as anything I've ever seen. Joe (owner) was great: very responsive and understanding of the situation. We finally gave up on Southwest and bit the bullet to take Volaris and Aeromar to get there. And while our 7 day trip was reduced to 3, it was well worth the trouble. The place is every bit as good as it looks on the property page (which is a bit unusual as most places are a little disappointing). The staff, including chef and cleanup, was tremendous. The food was so good that going out to eat at a highly rated restaurant one night was disappointing. This is truly one of the great vacation spots you might rent, and I can't recommend the place, the staff, the owner and everything else enough.

Villa Marea Baja is a wonderful luxury villa right on the beach in the swanky Conchas Chinas area. While not far from town you also have a wonderful relaxing privacy. The staff (Tony, Humberto and Anna) are fabulous. Tony is eager to please and attentive to your every need. Humberto is a gem of a chef. His meals are as good as any restaurant in town. (Try the grilled/barbequed snapper!). And Anna quite keeps everything sparkling. We went to relax and decompress and visit so we basically just chilled in the villa, dipped in the pool and walked the beach! This villa is booked pretty far out and we understand why!

As others have said the house staff is outstanding. Umberto, the house chef, is a true talent. Having a personal chef has to be the ultimate perk while on vacation. Tony the waiter was there everyday and made fantastic drinks and Anna was better ta any maid service you would get at a 5 star hotel. The house is amazing with beautiful sunset views and the beach is just outside the back gate. You can walk in either direction along the beach, however, I was unable to walk all the way to town along the beach. The bedrooms each come with their own bathroom and the water pressure is good. We did get bit by mosquitos so that is something to be aware of in coming in August. However, every day we spent was a beautiful day

It is hard to appropriately convey how much we loved our time at Villa Marea Baja. For starters: Joe (the host) was communicative, responsive, & informative during every aspect of the booking process. Upon arrival, this stunning villa took our breath away. It has been built & decorated with intricate detail, and the landscaping is gorgeous. Nearly every room features floor-to-ceiling wooden shutters, offering an open-air experience throughout. We fell asleep each night to the sound of the ocean. The location is excellent; just far enough away from Puerto Vallarta to feel secluded, but within walking distance for those comfortable exerting themselves a bit. For those who prefer, it's a very easy & inexpensive Uber ride. Although we ventured to town a few times, we spent most of our time at "home," on the deck of the villa and in the pool, overlooking the beach. The sunsets over the ocean were fantastic. But for all its structural & locational beauty, we found that the highlight of this property is its staff. Berto, Tony & Anita each contributed immeasurably our vacation experience. Berto is a talented chef; every meal was perfection. His guacamole was a trip highlight, especially for our teenage travelers. (We went out to dinner in Puerto Vallarta one night, and although it was lovely, we all agreed that we would have preferred dinner prepared by Berto.) He was a kind & warm presence at the Villa, and an absolute joy to get to know. The same can be said of Tony, the houseman. Tony was there for everything we needed. Every morning he brewed and served our coffee, and then squeezed fresh orange juice for us. He crafted delicious margaritas for us every afternoon using fresh fruit and his special recipes. Tony anticipated all our needs, including setting up the umbrellas and chairs on the beach. We loved starting our days with Tony's smile as he wished us Buenos Dias, and we appreciated his genuine commitment to our comfort. Anita (the housekeeper) made her way through the house each morning and evening so quickly and with such efficiency that we barely knew she was there; but our rooms and bathrooms were kept tidy and clean, and the entire villa was spotless at all times. Anita was kind and gentle, especially with our "grandparent" travelers who connected with her despite the language barrier. In summary; we recommend this property without hesitation. At Villa Marea Baja, you will build beautiful connections and memories to last a lifetime.

The villa is incredible, the location is ideal, but what really makes this place unforgettable is the staff. I cannot say enough about Tony, Beto, Anna and Blanca. They not only made our group feel at home, from the moment we walked in, but also made our trip unforgettable with their service, incredible meals, stellar drinks (shoutout to the one and only Tony!) and positive vibes. This was hands down the best trip we've ever had!

Beach is out your back door. Pool is off your outdoor porch. All sleeping quarters have AC/Heating. This property is stunning and complete with evening sunsets. And that is not the best part...the staff assembled to assist you on your visit are professionals. Berto (Umberto) our chef made us unique meals every night (do not pass on his french toast- just try one piece). Anna had our rooms and linens spotless. Antonio (Tony) coordinates all activity in the house and makes sure your glass and belly are full. They were tremendous. The property offers privacy and close proximity to town (3-5 mins cab and 20 mins if you walk along the beach path). We had a wonderful stay in PV.

We had an amazing stay, the house is everything we could have imagined!! Tony waiter was so attentive to all our needs, Beto cooked the most amazing dishes and the presentation was beautiful!! Anna our housekeeper made sure our rooms were always clean, and Blanca our concierge was so wonderful on accommodating us of all our needs and wants for excursions!! Thank you I would 1000 times recommend this place!!

I can’t even explain how amazing the villa staff was, very friendly & attentive. Their service could have saved any complaints we had but we didn’t have any! Everything was just as pictured/described and the location was perfect. We have found our new go to spot to stay in PV and can’t wait to stay again!

Marea Baja is an absolutely lovely Villa. We loved the location and the in/outdoor spaces. We had my parents and our three sons (teenagers and 10 yr old) and everyone enjoyed the beach, pool and rooms but the best part which made truly special was Umberto (chef), Tony (go to for everything in the house), Ana who kept the Villa sparkling and Blanca our concierge. Umberto’s meals were better than the fine dining we experienced in PV. Loved his huevos rancheros, French toast, Carne Asada and the Paella were a few of the family favorites. Tony makes a fantastic smoothie and Bloody Mary! Thank you to all the staff for one of our best vacations- we will be back. The Villa feels like our home away from home.

We spent last week at the Villa with friends. Having been to PV on previous trips, I can say this was the perfect spot for us. The location is amazing, just far enough outside the craziness of downtown to feel removed but close enough that it's a quick walk along the beach. There's a local beach as well, which was full of local families on the weekends and was fun to watch from the pool. The staff were amazing, Umberto cooked delicious meals for us (definitely request his juevos rancheros for breakfast!), Antonio seemed to know what we needed before we did, and Ana provided thoughtful, thorough and fast service when we were out of our rooms (I don't know how she did it!). We would definitely recommend this place and plan to stay there again on future trips.

Everything was absolutely amazing. The pictures advertised are accurate, so what you see is what you truly get! The location was perfect, being both privately sequestered, yet close and easily accessible to town. I cannot applaud the staff enough, especially Tony, who went above and beyond to anticipate our every need. Homberto, the chef, did an incredible job providing us with everything we requested, and most importantly, he always did so with the warmest smile on his face. Anna, the housekeeper, made sure to keep everything tidy, including an evening turndown each night. Monse, the concierge, was readily available and always quick and happy to respond, as was Joe, the owner. Thank you to everyone for a relaxing, stress-free birthday getaway.

This was my favorite vacation ever. It was our 20th anniversary and we took our family. The villa is beautiful and has an authentic mexico feel. We wanted to have the resort amenities without the resort. We had a full staff that took care of every need we had including housekeeping meals, covid testing and anything we asked for was taken care of. We will be returning. Thank you Joe, Tony, Anna, and Monse. You were all amazing!

My wife and I decided to get away after over a year in quarantine, and spent the entire month of July at this lovely Villa. After spending a full month, it became our second home and we can’t wait to go back. Location: incredible. Literally steps down to a small beautiful beach. This beach is popular for locals, and can get busy on the weekends. The view of the ocean is just like the pictures, it’s absolutely spectacular. The sunsets are unreal! Every night you get to witness the most amazing sunset you’ve ever seen. You can walk along the beach to get to los Muertos. which will take you about 8 minutes. It’s important to note that there is a section of relatively steep rocks/steps that you will need to climb on one side with normal steps on the way down to los Muertos beach. I wouldn’t consider this to be treacherous at all, we did it daily, often while carrying multiple things (including our elderly dog). But important for those who might have difficulty with these types of things. From there it’s an additional 10 minutes to get to the Malcon. Walking along the road into town isn’t really advised, it’s a busy windy road. The beach is much easier. What’s great about this location is that it’s private, away from the partying and busy beaches, but just a short walk to where all the action is. Staff: where to even begin. Humberto, Tony, Anna, and Monse were all so incredible. Humberto’s cooking was SO good. He literally made a different meal for us every night we were there (30 different meals!). He made us fresh guacamole and salsa every day. He even made fresh meals for our dog because the canned food upset her stomach. There is ALWAYS a smile on his face, and he’s such a joy to be around. I can’t speak highly enough about Humberto. Tony was essentially our butler and was super attentive to anything we needed. He also makes killer margaritas. He even let me borrow money when we didn’t have cash to pay for our rapid covid test to get back to the states! Anna was our maid, and kept the place spotless, and always made sure we had fresh towels and bottles of water in our rooms. Monse was also fantastic and helped us with shopping, excursions, covid tests, even a trip to the vet to get our dog a health certificate on the way back home. Internet: I brought my own Ethernet cable and plugged into the router. Not a single issue. I worked remotely, and was on frequent zoom calls. All in all, 10/10 stay. Thank you, Joe! We’ll be back!

The owner Joe was fabulous. He communicates promptly and genuinely wants you to have a great experience. The house is beyond words! Authentic luxurious Mexican flair! Staff are very professional, courteous, and perfectionists! The cook Humberto is better than most restaurants I’ve ever been too! Antonio is kind of the Bartender, house manger, grounds keeper, and all around helper who is eager to make your stay perfection- always anticipating your needs. Ana is the maid and is very thorough. Monse is the concierge. They are all delightful people who are so enjoyable you would want to sit down, talk, and ask them to enjoy a meal with you. All I can say is wow! The view is phenomenal! The beds are comfortable! Thank you for a great experience!! I will be back!

From start to finish, this trip was fantastic! Joe, the owner, and Monse, the concierge, were both delightful to work with and quickly responded to any questions or concerns I had. The villa, which I had stayed at before under previous ownership, has been given new life under Joe. He is upgrading what was an already lovely place and taking it to an even higher level. The staff, Umberto the chef, Tony the house man, and Anna the housekeeper are very attentive and very much wanting to please and work extremely hard to anticipate your needs before you do. We loved it and are already planning a return trip later this year!
