This is the second year at the Lazy Bass. We had such a wonderful time. The house is in such a great location and all the local neighbors are so friendly. The only issue we had was the gas grill did not work. Lindsey with Blue Ridge Escapes was wonderful and said she would alert the owners. Can’t wait for next year.

10 of us (ages 5-75) spent a wonderful 5 days at this nice home on Claytor Lake. We found it very clean and well stocked. The beds, including the sofa bed, were very comfortable. The kids alternated their fun time between the video consoles and the dock. The neighbors were spectacularly friendly and helpful. Overall, a great time.

We celebrated our VT Grad with a Fun and relaxing vacation. The kayak and paddle board was a big hit. The house has beautiful views of the lake. We are already planning our next visit.

Very, very dated. Filthy when you lifted couch cushions. Soiled covers on furniture. Algae everywhere outside on deck and house which needs repainting. No dresser in one bedroom, closet stuffed with old bed covers with no handle on the door. Poor lighting in living rooms. Only one shower and upstairs tub very difficult to get in and out with no shower. Looked nothing like the pictures, filters must have been used on every picture. Outside under house very sloppy and cluttered. Nothing outside was nice and neat. Very uncared for and messy. Looked run down, worse property I have ever rented.

We took a sibling trip to the house with our kids and it was the perfect place for us. Kid friendly. The road was private so we were able to enjoy a few walks. The house was clean and cozy. And of course, we enjoyed the lake!

We were looking for a relaxing weekend with family and the Lazy Bass was perfect for us. Great communication with the hosts, well stocked house and kitchen, great wifi, and quiet neighborhood. The big yellow house really stands out on the street and makes it easy to find and the fenced backyard is perfect if you bring a pet.

The house is exactly what we needed. Very roomy and clean. The host was very helpful and very responsive when needed. The view was beautiful!

Our stay at the Lazy bass was so quiet and peaceful and in a beautiful neighborhood. We felt very safe and had easy access to our trails. We cooked most of our meals and had plenty of supplies there to have a relaxing time; we even grilled outside while viewing the lake. The 2 king beds were very comfortable. Overall it was pleasant stay.

Tj’s lake house was the perfect getaway for my family & I! We loved the pet friendly option and being right on the water was what we wanted. The neighborhood is so quiet and peaceful! 10/10 would stay there again!

our family of 10 had the time of our lives!! house was very large n comfortable hot tub,canoe,jet tub was excellent house was totally stocked with everything imaginable ,house was very clean only thing ki would do is cover upstairs deck floor so u have a place to sit underneath when rains i put a tarp on deck floor upstairs for cover below rained 2days other then that was a excellent stay definetly refer this place its an oasis!! will be back & host amelia was excellent!! thank u A ILL BE BACK!!!!

The perfect place for a family getaway! Far enough away, but close enough to amenities! Loved swimming right off the dock, having a nightly bonfire, and plenty of space to spread out within the house. The state park swimming beach was only a 25 minute drive away and was the perfect place to relax with the family! Had an amazing time and will definitely recommend to others!

My family and I came to this cute little place for a quick getaway! Loved that it had a fenced in side yard for pets to relax and play. The house was great, it had everything you need to cook and serve a meal and the neighborhood was very relaxing! Lake views were lovely!
The only weird thing was the water fixtures reversed, so hot was cold and cold was hot! Once you figured that out everything else was amazing! Thanks for a great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lazy Bass. The house and location are perfect. We met such nice people who were also renting, but many who live there permanently. Everyone is so friendly. The only negative for the house is one of the bathrooms has a tub and everyone in our group was older. Sharing one shower with 9 people was a little tough, but we made do. The house is stocked with everything you could need.

An issue with a power outage, along with no water (a well, no power to pump the water) was very frustrating. It was no cause of the owner or the property. Waiting to get power back was all on the power company. Communication with the owner was spot on, who remained in touch with the progress of the power company.
Even though they couldn’t correct the problem, they were there for us. 100%

Our family enjoyed our weekend here. Loved being right on the lake and how private the location is. Plenty of room for two families with teenagers. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub!

This was a perfect place to relax with grandparents and kids. Even with the cold weather and snow my 7 year old son said it was the best weekend. We never even turned on the tv. The hot tub was a hit in the snow and freezing rain, my mother said she might never get out. Look forward to going back when nicer weather to take advantage of the canoe and kayak.

We enjoyed our stay, very relaxing. Owner was great to communicate with and very accommodating. Property was older but very clean and the hot tub and view was great!

We had an amazing time celebrating my sister’s birthday with the family! We loved how kid friendly the property was, it had everything we needed for our 6 month old niece! AMAZING IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY!!!

Good location and well equipped.
Strong sulfur smell in water and a need for renovations are the reason for not getting 5 stars. Broken dry wall piled under stairs with blankets tossed over it so maybe some updates are underway.

I love Claytor Lake
I’ve always wanted a house at Claytor not in my budget but staying there right at the lake was great! I’m still recurring from Covid and managing breathing, physical movements. Walking up hill was a challenge but I did it daily. All around enjoyed myself.

Great fall get away
We had a great stay at the 'Lazy Bass'. The property was everything you could ask for in a lake house and was excellent for a family with children. Would recommend to friends and family.

The house is located on an incredibly peaceful and relaxing section of the lake. We had everything we needed to enjoy our lake stay. The neighbors up and down the street are very friendly. We would live to stay here again sometime in the future.

Great week
We were caught off guard by low water levels in the lake due to alot of rain and preparation for flooding. But that's no fault of property owner, and it made us find a few other things to do which lead to some happy accidents🙂. Property owners were great and kept me updated on the on going water levels, and sent an electrician when the kitchen lights stopped working. Would totally rent here again!

Enjoyable stay- had everything we needed.
We had a fantastic time at Lazy Bass with kids and dogs. Everything was easy and we had everything we needed. The dogs had a yard to run in and the gates on the deck were perfect for them. Kids enjoyed their stay and the Pac-man machine!

Responsive and helpful hosts
We had lots of questions about things to do and the house, and the hosts were very responsive before we checked in and during our stay. The house was wonderful, we used the canoes daily, and ate outside on the deck each night.
