Great little place to stay that comes with everything you could imagine. The accommodation was super clean and cozy. Superb location in Hancock and not too far from MTU. Theres a great restaurant across the street and you get a great view of the snowmobile trails!

We stayed with our family, including a baby over Christmas. The place was just as expected. It was clean, had a nice pack and play and was spacious. We really enjoyed our stay and the home had everything we needed and expected. It was an easy and comfortable stay:)

Wonderful property that is well stocked with many amenities. Check in was a breeze. The place was immaculately clean! Great open living and kitchen area. Would be great for couples or a family. No problems at all during the stay. Host was just a phone call away to help with anything needed.

Property is close to everything and was convenient If I had one recommendation, it would be to include additional seating for a lounging.

Clean unit that is nicely equipped and centrally located. As mentioned in listing the front bedroom is very noisy from traffic. Ear plug’s recommended.

Great location and clean and well maintained property.

Great spot, centrally located to access fun spots all over the UP. Cold AC and comfy beds! Only downside was road noise as it’s right on the main drag in Hancock.

We didn’t spend much time at the cabin but had everything we needed and more. The beds were comfy and all the decor is so cute. We loved it and would rent again. The road is a little noise starting at and 5:30am.

Great spot to stay. Restaurant right across the road. As they say in the listing it can be a little noisy but usually pretty quiet after 10/11pm…. Blackout shades would be nice, especially in the front bedroom, but overall great place to stay and we will stay again next time we are in the area. We have stayed all over the UP, this place is in the top 5 for sure, nicely decorated, good amenities, good proximity for the town, comfortable beds, overall great place for the price range!

We loved staying at The Miner! Everything was just perfect
Well stocked kitchen, extremely clean and great decor. Very easy walk to restaurants and bars in Hancock. Would highly recommend to try it!

Very clean and comfortable! Loved the mining pictures and decor. Plenty of towels and cookware. Close to the trail. Owner was very accommodating when we needed extra parking for snowmobile trailer

A couple of us stay here when we are sledding in the UP and it's a great place to stay for the weekend! From a location standpoint, it is right on the snowmobile trail in Hancock, so it doesn't get any better than that. Fred is great to work with and 'The Miner' is clean, comfortable, and fully stocked if you wanted to cook. We opted to walk across the street to Gino's both nights and grab some great food after a long day of riding.
Will definitely be staying here again and I can't say enough about it!

Stayed here as our home base for a UP snowboarding trip. Loved all the miner and up north decor. Super clean. Everything was new and beautiful. Could not have asked for a better location. Amazing stay. Will be back!

Trail runs right across the street. There’s also a pretty decent Italian restaurant across the street.

Came up for the weekend to snowmobile. Property is literally across the street from the trail system. House is super clean. Has everything you need. Very well renovated! I pulled my snowmobile trailer and a friend brought up her vehicle. I can’t say what it would be like with more snow since the snow was lacking up there to start off sled season but we had no problems with parking for my SUV, 14ft trailer and her Jeep.
Overall I would absolutely stay again! This is a gem inside and the outside is within walking distance to a couple of restaurants.

We had a great trip to Hancock and look forward to visiting the area again. The Miner is a great property, best equipped VRBO or AirBB I’ve stayed at ! The only thing that didn’t work well for us was the noise. We are early to bed and early to rise. The property is on a very busy street and the trail was more active with snowmobiles than we expected. The property is awesome but if you’re looking for a quiet spot this isn’t for you.

To start, the communication and responsiveness with owner was great before and during stay. The house was as described. Loved the decor and comfort. Had just what we needed available for some light cooking (had more just didn't need to use all). Loved the copper themed decorl! Plenty of room for hanging with family and relaxing. Despite being on busy street, had no issue with street noise while sleeping or other. Good room for parking in front of building and walking my little dog. I myself couldn't see/access number on lock box when getting into property in dark, my mom luckily could see but, that is my issue but wanted to mention for others that may not see well up close and at night.
We very much enjoyed our stay and will stay again if available as it is nice and close to MTU (visiting son at college) as well as other places in area.

Really enjoyed our trip. Thankful for staying at the miner again. We were able to have a Thanksgiving dinner with our boys and all cooking utensils were available. We will definitely always try to reserve this place when we go to Hancock.

We stayed for a long weekend to visit my son at Michigan Tech; The property is nice and clean and very conveniently located for the visit. We also brought our puppy and while there is no yard we could easily take her out for a walk in the ally behind. I would definitely stay again!

This was my second stay at the Miner. Love the location (I lived in Hancock as a student), easy getting to MTU's campus and on the way out of town toward the Keweenaw. What more could you want?
The Miner is clean, comfortable, warm (can be important in the UP) and spacious. I'm in Houghton/Hancock frequently - looking forward to staying here again.

We had a great stay and trip visiting our son who attends MTU. Good memories were made, thank you for opening up your beautiful property to us Fred & Maria.

This was a great property, clean comfortable and very well set up. We were exploring the Upper peninsula, and this apartment provided an ideal location from which to explore the Porcupine Mountains to the South and Copper Harbor to the North. In addition, Hancock and Houghton were really cool towns. Highly recommended

Absolutely perfect place to stay, great location, hosts were good with communication, place was clean and had everything you needed. Right across the street from Gino’s restaurant and bar which was super convenient. Would recommend this place 100%!

My family and I were charmed by Hancock and Houghton and staying at the Miner was a highlight! The location couldn’t be more convenient and the Miner had everything we needed for a fantastic stay. The beds were also super comfortable!

Awesome and will Repeat!
This space was a wonderful getaway for the visit the the Copper Country. I will add this property to my short list of VRBO's I have visited. The visit will be repeated here! For sure.

Great rental
Very clean and nice rental. We were very impressed. It was located a few blocks from our children so it was very convenient. Ammenities were great! I will definitely stay here again. Only downside was how noisy the street sweeper was when trying to sleep. Besides that a great place to say!

Professional Design touches, Eccentric and Comfortable
The Miner is literally filled with copper accents, wall hangings and fixtures attesting to the Copper Country. Once an Insurance Office (we're Locals), the building has been fully updated with two comfortable bedrooms and a main dining / living space. We found the shower fantastic and appreciated the several wall plugs as one does charge stuff these days.
Excellent location - it's right on a major road, which is a plus as the local traffic does not disturb your sleep. We will recommend The Miner to friends!

Great Hancock Location- but busy intersection. Pet Friendly!
We stayed in Hancock primarily for the pet friendly apartment and the location is close enough to MTU. The small triangular building makes a confortable space for ‘base camp’, with amenities to be able to relax on a snowy day. On two nice days we were able to walk to the Tech campus in about 20 minutes, with great views from the classic lift bridge.
Kitchen is stocked wiht utensils and cooking supplies. A Keurig and standard flat bottom drip coffee maker. A few packages of sweetners and powder creamer. All other basic cooking supplies (salt pepper, oil) that some places have not available, so plan for that. An extra blanket or throw for the living room would be nice, The whole place appears newly renovated with on-demand hot water (plentiful!), very nice shower, new washer and dryer. There is not much view from the front window, and the street noise may bother some at night time. The back bedroom would be quieter that the front one. But you’re in the Keewenaw- get out and play!
Vinly floors made it easy to keep clean with our dog.
For Tech grads you might not know that Lincoln street is the continuation of Quincy Ave. You may know it as just Hwy 41. The Miner (name of the VRBO) is located just beyond the yellow and red lights before you make the curve to head north. Be ready to turn right into the parking space in front of the building. Parking easy for 2 cars. Gino’s is right across the street. Keweenaw Co-Op is just up the hill and I highly reccomend it for better groceries and quick to-go foods than you can get at the other stores. Nicer wine selection, too. Hancock is putting in a Dog Park at the Fairgrounds (5 minutes away) fence posts are up and the fencing on site- should be open in the summer of ‘22. We walked our Lab there as the ski & snow shoe trails were deserted (this is late winter) . Will request another booking when we come back to Tech with our dog!

A Hancock Gem!!!
I almost hate to share this location with everyone. It is truly a gem in Hancock. Very close to MTU and local restaurants in the neighborhood. A 15 minute drive to Lake Superior for your sunset viewing. Awesome.

Awesome place!
We were in town for a Michigan Tech event for my daughter who will be a freshman this fall. Very convenient spot to get to campus and to explore the Keweenaw Peninsula. I was blown away by all the details in The Miner. Very cool! Thinking this will be our spot when we go back to visit the kid while she’s in school.

Snowmobiling trip
Great place to stay for our snowmobiling trip to Copper Harbor area. Snowmobiling right from front door. Comfortable place to come back to and great location. Would definitely recommend this place and host was great. Parking is tight but not a worry.

Nice Place Along the snowmobile trail
Great place for a snowmobile trip, my only caution would be trailer size. My small clamshell trailer fit in the driveway, a bigger trailer would not have fit.

Nice modern place right in town
Really nice modern place with all the amenities of home, very comfortable. Will stay again! Finally a VRBO rental that’s worth the money, as several are overpriced in the area.

Great place!
The Miner is a great place to stop over for a few days if you are travelling through the area - it is very clean and cozy and Fred and Maria have thought of everything, including the k-cups for the Keurig coffee pot!
Also, the communication with Fred and Maria was fantastic! they are very quick to respond and truly care about their guests enjoying their time during their stay there.
This is definitely the place to stay if you are travelling through the area and we will be back!

Great all around
Everything you need, and more. Great accommodations and well stocked. The only drawback is the parking space if you have a large trailer, but doable.
