Girls trip! Beaches and downtown minutes away. Beautiful home inside and out. Plenty of room for fives girls and all our stuff. The best stocked house I’ve ever stayed in. Lori was great to work with, gave us suggestions, and responded right away to any questions I had. I would stay here again.

My family had a wonderful stay at Idlewood. It was the cleanest rental I’ve ever stayed in! Hats off to their cleaning crew! Everything was as described and more. The kitchen had everything we needed including a full spice rack, olive oil, and balsamic. The host was amazing at helping me prepare for the trip. Property is in a nice, quiet neighborhood which also means more driving to places which we knew ahead of time based on the listing’s descriptions. (Without small kids you could walk to more stuff) We saw wild turkeys every morning! The outdoor area is very small but with all the outdoor offerings in South Haven we were ok with that. We loved the new pool - it’s so close to the house. Don’t plan on using the pool restrooms though because in the entire week we were there, there was no toilet paper, soap, or paper towels. But since you’re so close to the house it’s not a big deal.
This is a great house if you’re looking for a nice, large family friendly rental! Kids of all ages will be happy and accommodated! Thanks for a great stay!

Lori has thought of absolutely everything, the house is absolutely gorgeous and it couldn't have been a better stay. My parents are tough to please, and were a bit apprehensive about staying in a VRBO however, they insisted that I review this listing and explain how amazing of an experience they had. Thanks again for everything!

This place was super cute and in a great area. It was very accommodating for our group. We appreciated how clean it was and the price of it was very reasonable. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

My family and I had a great time here. There was plenty of space for us all. The newly finished basement was a pleasant surprise and the 5 kids loved playing down there. It was a convenient location to downtown and multiple beaches. Everything was thought of in this house...beach toys, spices, shampoo, conditioner, etc.

This was our second time staying here. The place is wonderful and super clean. Well stocked with things so makes packing easy. The garage is filled with plenty of stuff for beach/water/activities so no need to bring those things. Loretta always has such a quick response with any questions. Will be booking again :)

Amazing stay! Lori is so accommodating & responsive. The house is immaculately clean & is completely stocked with everything you could need. Love the location & how the house is on the corner near the woods so very quiet as well.

Fantastic property close to the beach, shopping, and restaurants! Lori was a great host. Check-In and Check-Out were super easy and all of our questions were answered promptly. Highly recommend.

We loved this home from the moment we stepped inside. Bright, spacious, and pristine. Loads of storage space. House is generously stocked with everything you need--bath products, laundry supplies, cooking oils and spices, tons of towels, kids' books, toys, even night lights throughout. Plentiful beach towels, chairs, toys, and a special beach stroller that works on the sand. Close to all beaches, and a quick drive (or leisurely walk) to the pool. We stayed for 9 days and rotated in various groups of friends and family. Everyone from ages 3.5 to 82 loved this home. The bedroom and full bath on the main floor was wonderful for my mom who struggles with steps. The primary bedroom upstairs is enormous--such a treat! Grandkids loved the toys, books, and bunk room. The owner, Lori, is fantastic. We consider her a friend!

Owners did a great job of providing the necessities for a multi-day stay including plenty of beach toys for the kids and games and toys as well as a double stroller and wagon for the walk to the beach. House was nicely furnished. Only drawback was it seemed a bit tight for the amount of young children we had (4 under the age of 4), and a finished basement or bigger backyard would have helped. Also, we were a bit surprised by how close the proximity of the neighbors’ houses were to this house.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The property was great and in a perfect location for us. We had one small maintenance inconvenience and the owners worked to resolve it quickly. We were very happy here - thank you Lori for sharing your home!

We stayed at this property for the second consecutive summer and had a fabulous stay. Our group included two families with small children. This home has every amenity you would want for young families staying at a beach home. The owner even installed detachable spray hoses in the showers to aid in showering children following our review from last summer. I can’t say enough positive things and can’t wait to stay again.

In town for son’s wedding!
Idlewood Cottage was spectacular! We traveled to South Haven from New York State for our son’s wedding. The house was perfect for all involved from a 90 year old Grandmother down to an almost two year old! There was a large supply of beach chairs, beach towels and toys plus everything you would ever need in a rental home. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for everyone to relax. Lori was a great host and was willing to help in anyway to make our time in South Haven just perfect! South Haven fireworks for July 4th were awesome too!

Can’t wait to come back!
The house/garage were very well appointed with everything we could need. Cozy furniture and living area. We enjoyed the fire pit each evening and had all the equipment we needed to make breakfast each morning. Beds were comfortable and all the bathroom amenities were an added plus.

Great vacation rental!!
We absolutely loved our stay in South Haven.
We used to go to Florida but decided to change it up since we have a 6 & 4 year old & 8 month old Grandsons and didn’t want to travel to far. It was perfect! The house was so nice and comfortable. Our basic needs were all there like stroller, pack and play, high chair. Lots of beach items etc. The owner was very prompt in getting back with us. The house was really clean.
If we decide to go back to South Haven this will be the place we want to stay again.

Great property in SOHA
We were in south haven Michigan for my daughter’s wedding so lots of family including a 4 month old. The house outstanding. Great location wonderful amenities including a pack and play a stroller and a high chair. The host is as wonderful always got back to us quickly prior to the rental and during the rental. I highly recommend this property

Cleanest Rental Ever!!!
We have been traveling to South Haven for the past 13 years as an extended family vacay (3 year old to 76 year old papa!). HANDS DOWN this was the cleanest home we have ever stayed in!! Not only that, it was furnished with anything and everything you would need!!! My sister in law didn’t need to carry her pack-n-play or child eating seat….it was already furnished. Being it was chilly we didn’t get to use all of the beach stuff but, that was there too. Such a beautiful home and we are so thankful we didn’t have to cancel this year due to the increasing prices of South Haven…she was very fair on pricing!! We will be back. 😉💗

Fantastic visit to South Haven
Lori’s house is WONDERFUL. We tend to be pretty critical about places we stay and everything about our stay was perfect.
Location - Loved how close the house was to the beach and to town, you could be anywhere around South Haven within 5 or so min.
Cleanliness - spotless house!! It’s so comfortable in all aspects.
Communication - absolutely wonderful. Lori would respond to my questions leading up to the trip quickly and checked in a few times during our stay to see how things were going.
Amenities - wow - she has EVERYTHING. I spilled my coffee on my sweater and she even had spray and wash! :) The game selection was awesome too. My 10 year old and I became addicted to Uno Attack! :)
If I have the chance to come back to South Haven, I would stay here in a heartbeat!
Thank you for making our first trip ever to Michigan a wonderful time!

A true gem of a place
What a wonderful cottage to take a break from life in. Clean, well decorated and equipped, spacious, and a short walk from Lake Michigan are my favorite highlights. The owner is lovely also. Highly recommend.

Beach Jaunt with Toddler, Preschooler, and Grandparents.
We visited with children (age 2 and 4) as well and grandparents (late 70-early 80s). They all enjoyed the house. The neighborhood and local marina was the source of safe afternoon walks to look at the boats. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking and grilling, which we did every night. About a 10 minute walk (slow walkers) to a small public beach which we went to every evening after dinner. The benefit was the beach was relatively secluded and we basically had it to ourselves. About a 10 minute drive (or less) from South Beach and Downtown area. Our kids loved the toys, games, and bunk beds. We were very happy with our stay.

Great get away with family
The home was beautiful and just as described. Perfect size for 3 couples and 7 year old. Our granddaughter was excited about the pool toys and games provided. Close to town and beach. We loved everything about it! Thank you Lori!

We stayed here with our family- 7 adults and 3 kids and loved this house! It was well stocked with anything you could need and was in a great location. It was also very clean!!! My son wants to live here when he’s grown up. 😉 Thanks for the great memories!!

Family friends trip
This was our first experience using VRBO and this property was fantastic. The home was beautiful, as pictured, and had all amenities we could think of. We stayed with small children and the home had plenty of perks for them, including games, books, and plenty of beach toys. The location was perfect and walkable to the pool and easy beach access. The house was very clean, and we appreciate the owner asking guests not to wear shoes in the house. The owner was easy to communicate with and very responsive. She even offered to reimburse me for anything the house was missing, including a fitted sheet for the pack-n-play. We can't wait to book this property again!

Fabulous time
My family loved their stay! Beautiful home with great amenities. Besides the pool and be beach we lived the fire pit. My son brought his fishing rod and found quite a few places nearby where he went fishing. We’d love to return. Great memories!

Lake Michigan Holiday
We thoroughly enjoyed our week staying at this beautiful house. The home is thoughtfully laid out and has just what you need where you would expect it to be! The furnishings were nice and comfortable. The extra bedroom and full bath on the first floor is a plus. We also enjoyed having access to the pool at the Marina. Lori was fabulous to deal with - very responsive!

This was a family trip to reunite with our aunt who we hadn’t seen since covid in 2020. Beautiful home and so easy to walk to the beach. The owner has great beach items to use. My kids loved it!
