It was a great location on way home from Scotland to Manchester to see both Hadrians Wall and the Lakes. Amazing and modern interior, still like new.

Being " just off the motorway " it was fantastic to find such a gem , a convienient stop travelling to Scotland , but with fantastic large rooms, the food in the restaurants was top notch and the staff all great This is now our preferred stay when working in the area Well done to the owners and team

Rooms very comfortable with high quality fixtures and fittings

This was our second stay … the food didn’t match the quality of first visit. Had to send back my starter as it was so poor, issue was felt with very professionally by restaurants manager.

This is an amazing hotel with great decor and welcoming staff. The food is really good and locally sourced. The library is a nice touch and it would be very difficult to improve on what the Fleece offers its guests. They seem to have thought of everything. Highly recommended.

Very good, however it seems like the kitchen run out of sausages. No further explanation offered.

Breakfast was exceptional. Could not fault the food, the choice, the venue, or the service.

The practice of an excessive charge for an extra slice of bread was disappointing, but was resolved when queried. But the fact that it was there in the first place only encouraged negative thoughts in an otherwise most enjoyable experience. So unnecessary. A little more flexibility would make one’s stay more personal, and increase the customer care feeling.

Staff were super, facilities exceptional and both food and drink very good. Have been searching for a quality Hotel close to Carlisle for a while, pleased to say we have found somewhere.

Only issue was the bathrobes which were labelled XL but were at best medium.

I liked everything and I will be back again soon!
