the staff and owners were very welcoming and even allowed me to clean my bike at the rear of the property. Great location and a lovely breakfast. Highly recommended!

A truly lovely b&b! The warm and friendly service went above and beyond what we expected (especially after some long days of walking), and the rooms themselves were beautiful. Highly recommended!

Everything was wonderful!

Dianne was a wonderful host, friendly and knowledgeable. We had to get up and off early to carry on our walk and the grab and go breakfast she prepared for us fed us all the way to Carlisle!

Great hospitality

Excellent B and B. Nice large bed, spacious room. Diane is very thorough and helpful. Delicious breakfast and everything was served to our table. Made us feel very looked after.

The Hostess Diane goes out of her way to accommodate 4 very wet late cyclists, wood burner to dry shoes, secure bicycle storage and lots more, nice private honesty bar to relax in.

The Scotch Arms Mews was such a wonderful hotel. The host Diane was so lovely, and so gave us many recommendations of places to visit and to eat. The hotel was very clean, extremely covid secure and all rooms well equipped with everything you'd need. The breakfast was very generous. We so enjoyed our stay and highly recommend!

Our hostess was fabulous. So much energy and so very kind. A superbly run place. Would thoroughly recommend. Lovely room with fireplace, very roomy.

Host was fantastic , friendly, welcoming. Breakfast was great, especially the lovely fresh fruit salad. Very comfy bed. Nice area outside to sit with a drink from the honesty bar after a long hot journey.

Some of our group in the rooms at the front said the road noise woke them quite early.

From the moment you arrive, you are made welcome in a beautiful and tastefully restored building at the heart of the town. There are so many little touches that really matter. one is the trust box for serving drinks to yourself in the time of COVID... and the breakfast was epic - I would say it is worth staying for that alone. ! A welcome host and a comfortable stay - faultless. !

The bed was a bit low, so was only a few inches off the ground, which for a sprightly lad like me was fine. but maybe too low for less able. But to be honest, it was a lovely house restoration and the ups and downs, changes in levels etc are part of its charm. it was quiet restful and looks like I am now saying nice things again, cos to be honest, thats the way it is.

Lovely B&B with really friendly staff. Spent a couple of nights whilst visiting Hadrian’s wall. High standard of accommodation.
