This place is a gem! Urbania House was the perfect backdrop to share our love of Nola with friends for the first time. The house is like something out of a movie. High ceilings and huge yards, long porches and filled with artistic antiques. The family is still restoring it so you get to see some of their Plaster Work and European carpentry. The neighborhood is awesome and walkable to great restaurants and an easy walk through the Garden District or on Magazine Street. Only a block away from a nice park with huge oak trees and fountains surrounded by mansions. Restaurants nearby are great and our favorite for breakfast was Surries which was literally like 200 yards away. Patsy and her family are wonderful and greeted us on the back porch for a sip ;) and wonderful tips on the neighborhood and history of the house (which may or not have a friendly ghost;) oh, also there is a fantastic old pool with a dark bottom which was a great way to relax and cool off. One of the highlights was Miss Patsy teaching us how to make her traditional Carolina BBQ sauce in her gorgeous kitchen. We will be back!

Such a wonderful experience provided by our hosts. From the moment we were welcomed by William to the lovely flowers and home baked chocolate cake by Patsy waiting for us in the kitchen, we knew we’d selected the right home for this special occasion. The home has character and charm and is nestled in a quiet neighborhood close to everything. This house truly is a piece of old New Orleans but with the comforts of the modern day. I can’t recommend this house or the hosts enough. A solid 10 in my book.

William and Jules provided our family with an excellent stay in Nola. Their home is filled with furniture, fixtures and all sorts of unique details collected to create a one of a kind stay. Various parts of the home are a work in process, but that did not take away from what we found to be a comfortable and unique environment in a safe and remarkably convenient neightborhood. We look forward to returning.

We had a unforgettable trip to New Orleans thanks to this incredible home and generous host. Banks immediately made us feel welcome and was always available to answer our questions and offer recommendations. The location was perfect. It was a close walk to great cafes and shops. The house itself was beautiful, comfortable and clean. We enjoyed cooking meals in the amazing kitchen and eating them on the lovely porch. If we go back to NOLA we would definitely stay at this house again!

This suited our needs well and was nicely located for most of the restaurants we had chosen, and located on a tranquil street away from the crowds.

So much more than a house! Will and Jules are generous hosts who have created such a special and beautiful New Orleans experience for their guests - it was the perfect home for a 4 night getaway with friends for a big bday. The architecture, beautiful interior design, antiques + treasures, and collected, creative quirks were so appreciated. Lots of hang out zones, comfy beds, and attention to detail that feels more boutique hotel than I’ve seen in any rental! There is so much to do and see within walking distance and everything else is a short ride away. We packed so much in 4 days! They provided tons of great recs for food, drinks, and activities to be sure your NOLA stay is special. Perfect stay. Would definitely return!

What an amazing experience to stay at this wonderfully unique and truly delicious home!
We loved every single minute of our time there. There are quirks aplenty, architectural delights, yummy surprises and the location is perfection. If you are looking for an RH designer cookie-cutter place to stay in New Orleans - well, you should just skip right on by this listing. BUT...if you are looking for a one in a million experience in a one-of-a-kind New Orleans GORGEOUS home (in a little bit of continual progress - which 100% adds to the charm - architectural collections abounding!) then this IS the place for you. There isn't a single place to look that doesn't have something interesting, wonderful and fun.
Thanks to the owners for letting us share in this home of yours. Thanks for making us feel like friends and not renters. Thanks for always being available. And especially, thanks for sharing with us the stories of your home - which we adored. We had so much fun (and if you ever need any photos of your home - we have a million!).

We had a great time in this house. Everything was super clean, beds comfortable and the kitchen had everything you’ll need. The house itself was amazing, plenty of inside and outside spaces to hang out. Great location, not too far from everywhere we wanted to go and plenty of places to walk to as well

We had a group in town for a wedding. The wedding events took most of our time but when we had time at the house we really enjoyed the pool. It was a very hot week so taking a dip and catching up with friends was great.
The owner was very communicative, responsive and gave us tons of great nearby recommendations.
The location can’t be beat.

Magical property! We very much enjoyed our time here. It is, as advertised, a work in progress but that only added to its charm. The back yard at night, with the pool and string lights on, is so lovely. Beds are very comfortable! House was equipped with everything we needed! Can’t wait to come back

Great property, you certainly get what you pay for. The house is a work in progress and is meticulously detailed with the finest architectural design and finishes. There are rooms you will not be able to use yet but it doesn’t take away from the utility of the home. The pool is outstanding. It is not heated but was perfect temperature in late May. Each morning I’d walk down to local coffee shop and I got to know the locals who told me to come back next year and stop by. The location can’t be beat. The kitchen is probably my favorite part of the house. If you have a group with more than three couples you’ll need to arrange who will sleep where and if you have young kids then you may need to keep them in main house as you will need to go outside to visit the ancillary bedrooms in the servant quarters that include the kitchen. Great for entertaining, interesting history and my kids LOVED that movies were filmed here and it truly had the spooky mansion vibe with the gas lit lanterns constantly running. The bathroom in main house was my wife’s favorite attraction and even a view to downtown to boot. Will be coming back every chance we get. Our pictures were stunning.

Wonderful Time
We had a great stay at Urbania House with our children and my parents. The house is in the process of being restored, but it is fully livable and the ongoing restoration did not impact our stay at all. It’s a beautiful and unique property with tons of history but also every modern comfort. Our kids loved the pool, and the layout of the property worked out well with our family having the “main house” and my parents having their own “in-laws suite” in the second house. We’d definitely recommend a stay here.

We loved everything!
The house is still undergoing renovation and we were well aware of it, so no surprises at all. The home is so full of history and we come almost feel the history come to life. William (Banks) was an amazing host-greeted us at his lovely home, showed us around and welcomed us with cheese, wine and fruit. Communication was seamless and the check out process was the easiest we have ever experienced with a VBRO. The location was within walking distance to almost every where we wanted to go. The pool was a godsend too for our little kids as well as the big ones. I highly recommend this property, especially if you enjoy living in the middle of history!

Superb house, owners, and location
The house is very beautiful, and we absolutely enjoyed the 1-week stay. The beautiful antique furniture and decors made our stay even more fulfilling. The owner couple is so friendly and easy to communicate with for any reason as related to the home. The location is near Magazine street where there are many great restaurants and cafes are located. The Saline Swimming Pool was a great treat as well.
Plus, the owners gave us awesome suggestions into local places for great food within walking distance to their beautiful home in Lower Garden District.
Thank you very much for your fantastic hospitality!

One of a kind, gorgeous homejh
Wow, wow, wow...! I can't believe places like this can be stayed in. This house was the most amazing lucky find and was the perfect place for a true New Orleans vacation. My family visited in February and could not have been more impressed. The home is really one of a kind- absolutely gorgeous and original and funky and tasteful. We spoke to the owners and it has such a unique history. The couple has brought it back from abandoned to fabulous. We found out that it has been in numerous movies and it certainly makes sense. As soon as you are inside it feels like you are in another time or in the countryside of France. Super high ceilings, ancient original floors, amazing funky antiques. Fantastic southern porches and galleries. The original kitchen is to die for with awesome carved stone sinks and a french stove..The antiques and furniture are just as beautiful as the grounds. The outdoor space is enormous and private with the prettiest pool. The location in the Lower Garden District is great. We were able to walk down Magazine Street and be at restaurants, bars, and local shops within minutes and a very cute park only a block away. Communication was easy, the hosts were always available for questions and throughout the stay, they remained helpful and gracious to us. The home is huge and the couples restoration of the home is ongoing but any unfinished details did not detract from the experience at all, in fact it was interesting to see some of the "process" as it was all being done by hand...we felt as if we were taking part in the story of the home. It's all very restrained and tasteful. I cannot recommend this place enough if you are looking for a totally New Orleans place to stay with real character! You will not be disappointed...It is a true, rare gem!
