Good location
We stayed at Econolodge/Econostay in Vernal Utah on January 5, 2024. The room was filthy, smelled like an ashtray. The floor wasn’t vacuumed, there were candy wrappers and Q-tips on the floor. There was no garbage can. The TV didn’t work. There was no chain on the door for security and you could tell someone had tried to kick it in. There was a massive amount of dust on the bathroom vent, the floor wasn’t clean, looked like mouse poop was on it. The tile was loose on the floor by the toilet, felt like it was going to fall through the floor. I called to the front desk for some towels, and air freshener but no one answered. I went down there. The TV also didn’t work. The front desk girl came (again no ID or uniform) and provided 2 towels (there were 3 of us) and a can of Febreze. We told her the TV didn’t work, she said we had the wrong remote. About 45 minutes went by and someone knocked on the door. I opened it and this person was just standing there with a remote in his hand. I had no idea who this person was and he wasn’t talking. If my husband hadn’t been there I probably would have slammed the door in his face. He finally said he was the maintenance man and was eating a banana. Prior to him knocking there had been some commotion outside. He had no clothes or ID to say he was with the motel. At any rate, I didn’t sleep a wink that night. We would have left but there were no other rooms available. I slept on top of the bed in my clothes. After I showered, I went to use the hair dryer and it started sparking and smoking so I just shut it off. I talked to the front desk and they were very surprised that the room was smoked in and the concerns I had, they acted like they hadn’t heard them before. The pictures on your website of their place is deceiving. It may have looked like that once, but not any more. I am requesting a refund. I use booking.com a lot and am questioning the accuracy of the rooms you are advertising.

everything. I’m not typing it all out. disgusting room. the main thing was it reeked of cigarette smoke and the smoke alarm kept going off.

No heat in room. The room was dirty with pet hair all over the room. TV did not work. Told staff working she said she was leaving at 9:30pm and would tell on coming staff. Waited until 11pm, but still no response from staff. Went back to the office, it was locked, and no staff anywhere to be found.

They lock you out of your room when the office closes. Then they charge you $200 on top of the nightly rate. They don't answer their phone at all. They also put me in a room someone else was in when I got there. Also the heater didn't work at all.

Room stank we changed our own sheets because the didn’t look washed cigarette butts lined the walkway trash bags everywhere

The rooms are nicer than you would think by looking at the outside of the property. The breakfast had more than I expected with plenty of an assortment you would expect at a much nicer hotel. They let me check out later than originally planned, no questions asked. I thought it was a great value for what I paid.
Had to wait a while to check in since nobody was at the counter.

It was within budget.
Thrre was nothing else available in town.This is an old property and the owners(?)/managers do little to help you feel your patronage is wanted. When we arrived, no one was at the front desk (we later found out the employee was the ONLY one present on the property and had to see to every issue!) We rang the phone numbers on the nite on the front entry. It was one of the owners(??)/managers. She was out if town and did not seem concerned that we couldn't check in. She said to call her husband, the other name/number on the note on the door. He didn't pick up. Another guest told us someone was on site. The lobby/check-in area had a smell that was not pleasant. When we did finally see the person on site, she was very pleasant and helpful. That did not make up for the condition of the rooms - desperately in need of a good redo. Unfortunately

Location was close to the facility we were participating at
Very poor management. The poor girl at the front desk was also a housekeeper and had to run back and forth to check if rooms were clean before checking anyone in. She was the only person working.
The rooms were dirty, the bedding was not clean the only clean part was a brand new too sheet. One of the towels had fresh blood on it. The rooms also smelled horrible of cigarette smoke. Not a smoke free room facility. My friend who also tried checking into the same motel was told thier room wasn't clean. So they proceeded to wait for 30 minutes. Then later offered a carpet cleaner for them to clean the carpets to clean up the fresh vomit all over the floors.. absolutely disgusting!

good spot in town
dirty carpets that hasn't been vacuumed in a VERY LONG TIME as it was full of dust, hair and spider webs. even the hairdryer was full of hair stuck to it so maybe a good clean is needed! better pillows too please as it's so old and soft it hurts your neck, there are no extras in the cupboard if needed and softer blankets, they feel like they belong in the 70's... sorry!
