We had a beautiful week at this serene accommodation with the kindest and most helpful staff! They were renewing the roof of our bungalow so we were offered an upgrade free of charge. The food was absolutely delicious and the Halcyon Spritz was the perfect summer drink for us European travelers. The cappuccino with Sri Lankan coffee beans was also delicious. We boogie boarded in the ocean and relaxed by and in the pool. We even stopped by for lunch after we’d checked out and travelled for a week and were greeted like old friends by staff and owner alike. It really felt like coming home. 10/10 recommendation!

Great location, right on Mawella Beach and within easy distance of other stunning beaches on both sides. Staff were very helpful and personable throughout with excellent care and attention to detail expected. Absolutely loved the interiors, a lot of love has gone into the design and it shows. Food was really good, great fresh seafood and breakfast options whilst rooms are well-stocked with complimentary beverages and traditional Sri Lankan sweet treats. Pool and garden area well-maintained and sun loungers comfortable and in ample supply for occupancy. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend as an ideal boutique option along this stretch.

Rubbish from beach to garden, I understand this area isn't necessarily the hotel's responsibility but this is pretty much my only constructive feedback apart from the fact there was a misleading currency error by booking.com which presented the final cost incorrectly - not the hotel's fault.

The property has a stunning location and looks amazing. Better than the pictures. It is right on the beach and you can see the water from the rooms. In all the properties on Mawella beach, this looked like the closest to the water. The property is also maintained very well.

The reality that in Sri Lanka they set the bar very high for hospitality and for making everyone feel really special. This was missing here. We raised some concerns on hygiene a) the owner’s dog was seen drinking from the pool b) since they have an open kitchen a dish being served to another person had flies all over it. In both situations when we raised these concerns, the response was unlike what we have seen in Sri Lanka. The food didn’t match up to the beauty of the property.

Beautiful bungalows, lovely pool, beautiful beach. Very smartly styled and put together. Would happily recommend.

On arrival the manager basically accused us of lying about our honeymoon. I don’t think it was intentional, but it certainly made us feel unwelcome from the get go. It is also nearby a large swamp, so many more mosquitos than most of our other stays.

Impecable service. The whole team is extremely attentive and friendly. Beautiful isolated stretch of beach. Lovely design and impressive attention to detail. Food is also very good.

Small thing but could be a nice addition to have a few board games / beach games (I.e. beach tennis rackets) for guests to use.

One of my favourite properties in Sri Lanka! Fantastic vibe, exceptional food and spacious rooms that come with a great bathroom. The location is hard to beat with the ocean literally on one’s doorstep. The pool is amazing too. It was magnificent. We were in room two which was very close to the restaurant and therefore a bit noisy.

This is the most wonderful place and probably one of the best hotels I stayed at. Beautifully desinged, luxurious, with great swimming pool and good restaurant. The staff is very helpful. The location is quite remote, but charming in it's own way - next to a calm, local beach. The room was incredibly clean. Highly recommend!

There are vegeterian options in the menu, but would be great to have more for dinner.
