We loved the place and the seclusion of the home. It had rained a lot the week prior which made the driveway a bit difficult to get up. I would recommend a 4WD or AWD. The owner was great to stay in communication with us to make sure we got in and the place was well worth it when we got there. Everything in this cabin that we needed!

Very comfortable house - works well for a large group.
The only draw back was the road up to the driveway- fortunately we didn’t meet anyone on the road since it’s not one I would want to back down.

You have complete seclusion and a long range view. The property is exactly as described. Aubrey is a wonderful host, extremely responsive and helpful. Everything you need is at the cabin, very thoughtful. There is even a hiking trail that takes you up to the Blue Ridge Parkway and a short walk along to the overlook to connect to the Mountain to Sea Trail. Highly recommended. Thank you Aubrey!

We had a lovely time staying in this VRBO near Deep Gap. The property was very inviting and the view was just beautiful. We would stay here again in a heart beat.

Hickory Lodge is a secluded gem with easy access to anywhere you’d want to go! We brought the family dog and met up with our college student to spend Thanksgiving together. We enjoyed a trek in the woods and hung out around the fire pit. House was clean and well-stocked. Would definitely come back. Thank you to the host for sharing your beautiful property with others!

Had a great weekend during peak season to visit Boone and surrounding areas. The house was great and we had no problems. The host messaged us and was available if needed.
The drive to the property is secluded and parts are steep, just to be forwarn. Driving through areas like that is nothing new for us so we didnt mind.
Overrall it was great and our kids 3 and 6 loved it!

Four of us stayed here for a long weekend. This home is in a beautiful and remote location. We had no problems with the home it is very well stocked and the host was excellent.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Aubrey was fantastic to communicate with, she even checked in on us during our stay to make sure we didn’t need anything. The house was clean, had everything we needed, was close to Boone/West Jefferson. We will definitely be staying again!

This was our second time staying at Hickory Knoll and it was great !! Cheak in is easiest ive ever done, its well stocked, plenty of room for a large family!! We will definitely rent again for next year. Beesley Family

Every year our family goes to the mountains to cut down our Christmas tree. This cabin was absolutely beautiful and had all the comforts of home! We had a wonderful weekend. The driveway is very steep as we were told. Got a little scared but it was so worth it!

The house was great. Renters need to be warned about the driveway getting there. One way, washed out and all-wheel, 4 wheel drive just about MANDATORY in all seasons. once we got there everything was great however. Sheets in the bunk room weren't all that clean as they had some pet hair on them. I took pictures but it's hard to see. Not that great of a deal to us however as we threw blankets over the sheets and went on about our business. Neat house though and the owners were there and very quickly responsive to questions that we had.

We had a great time with family and friends. Plenty of room for everyone and very comfortable. Property is just as it is listed. However, would definitely need 4 wheel drive for winter months.

Wonderful weekend
I met several college girlfriends for a rendezvous weekend at Hickory Lodge. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed watching the sunsets on the front porch. The location was remote, and the road was rather narrow and steep for us city folks, but the destination was worth it.

Our dogs loved the place as did our family. Aubrey is an excellent host and the house is delightful. Trust her when she says you need all wheel drive. Driveway is steep but still did it with a Honda CRV. Recommend this place for anyone interested in disconnecting from email and spending time with family.

Sweet, older cabin with a great view from the super front porch. This property was the best equipped of our prior rentals. There were even supplies to prepare and enjoy s’mores by the backyard fire pit.
We were in the area to attend a bluegrass festival and plan to rent it again next year for the festival weekend.

Aubrey was the best host! Her property was the perfect place for our spring break vacation and offered more than we could have ever hoped for! She is extremely responsive to messages and so super helpful and kind. We also loved being able to bring our pets as they are a part of the family. This property was so accommodating and beautiful and in just the perfect location. I highly recommend staying here! Bring an suv to make it up there; we had one 4wd and a jeep Cherokee and made it up just fine. Can’t wait to come again!

The house was very comfortable with everything you could need as far as kitchen and linens, and plenty of space. My only complain would be that the inside of the fridge was a bit dirty and with some leftover food, but other than everything else was pretty clean. We enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Loved the location of the property and the amazing views from the front deck. The drive up is a bit steep but manageable. The house was very comfortable with everything you could need as far as kitchen and linens, and plenty of space. My only complain would be that the inside of the fridge was a bit dirty and with some leftover food, but other than everything else was pretty clean. We enjoyed our stay and will be back!

The cabin was clean and well stocked and has plenty of room for large groups. Checking in was simple and easy. We will definitely stay again!!

Nice view
The house was well stocked with most everything. Fire wood for outside and a sled for the snow was fun! Plenty of room for us. Lots of land to walk and a nice view from the front porch. Host was available for questions and responded quickly. Just fyi: if you are coming at night it is very dark. There were no outside lights on when we arrived making it difficult to get in since there was snow covering the path to the front door. After we found the light switch in the basement we were fine.

We had a great family trip up to the house. Everything was very well furnished and comfortable. Our pup loved running around the property surrounded by nature. The Blue Ridge Parkway and Boone are very close and easy to access. Overall a very relaxing and comfortable stay!

We had a great stay during Christmas week in this beautiful and cozy top of the mountain house. Amazing scenery, great location just minutes away from Boone and Blowing Rock. The hostess was very attentive to every detail, the house was very clean and had everything we need it. We enjoyed so much with our children and our puppy who had so much fun in the forest. Definitely we will stay again in this beautiful and cozy house.
