Great house, plenty of room. Easily accommodated our large family. We want to return!

Perfect house for accommodating family for nearby wedding venue. Ample room, clean, comfortable and only 10 min. drive to wedding venue. Everyone loved staying here - hoping we can book another weekend here in the near future.

This was a wonderful house. The beds were extremely comfortable and the house had great furnishings. Great location to various activities.

This home was lovely and well-stocked in the kitchen, just as described. The location is beautiful and communication with the booking staff was quick and easy. We really enjoyed staying at this property. The only difficulty was having to take all our trash to an external site for disposal. Otherwise, fantastic experience!

We had a wonderful time at this house. The house well set up for a large group of extended family. The kids loved the game room, and we hung out at the dinner table or the living room. The beds were fairly comfortable. There was one small problem in the half bath. The toilet seat wasn't attached to the toilet, but my brother fixed it. Great stay!

This was a wonderful stay for our extended family. While skiing was a bit far (about 20 minutes), we knew that beforehand so it was not a problem. The amenities of the home were very nice and we took advantage of them.

We decided in lieu of gifts this Christmas we would make memories with our family. I was everything we had hoped for! Thank you so much!

The house was immaculate and wonderfully decorated. Nice separation of common spaces allowing large gathering and private spaces for those who wanted that.

Had a nice week at the house. Layout worked very well for our group. Only complaint was the stove didn’t work very well otherwise had a great time.

Loved the house and space. We didn't see the garage door opener the first night, and attempted the code listed on the sheet for the garage, and it didn't work. We needed that extra bedroom, and even though the call was answered saying someone would call back within 20 minutes, no one ever called back. The next day we found the garage door and texted to let them know. The only other problem we encountered was a patio door that was unlocled when we arrived, but the lock was broken and did not work. Otherwise, everything was great!

Absolutely stunning view and fantastic layout. We had around 17 people staying and we all were comfortable. People were able to walk around and move through the house without disturbing others which was a relief for us. The playroom was a lot of fun and the kitchen was able to accommodate us all. One minor quibble, the listing shows 3 K beds but there were only 2. Also, there are no pictures of the space over the garage but it sleeps 4 comfortably and has its own bathroom. Was great place for the kids to sleep and hangout. We're definitely renting again here in the future.

The house was fabulous and as described. The fireplace did not work, but I am sure that if we had notified them, they would have fixed it asap. I'm pretty sure it was just out of gas, and we just didn't have time to call because we were there for my daughter's wedding. Beds were comfortable, and we would definitely rent it again. The whole wedding party was happy with the home!

The house was a great space with a lot of bedrooms which worked perfectly for my group, but the cleanliness of the house was not up to par. The bar countertop was very sticky, rugs clearly weren't vacuumed, and under the beds where extremely dusty. There was trash that smelled like it had been there for a long time sitting in the garage and was never removed even after I contacted the management company. Turning on the window unit above the garage set off the fire alarm and smelled like something was burning inside of it. Overall, I wouldn't come back because of these reasons.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have an annual gathering with a long-time group of friends for my husband's birthday, and this is by far the best place we've stayed at Wintergreen. Plenty of space, comfortable beds and warm decor. The game room/ bar combo was an additional bonus! Great place for larger groups!

We had a wonderful stay. It was a bit difficult to check in because I never received checkin instructions and had to call the after hours hotline but we eventually managed to get in.

Nice house and good location. Just wish we didn’t have to pay $18 a person to get into the lake park.

We had a large group (10 adults, 3 kids under 10 yrs old) and this home had ample space for us all to gather without being on top of each other. Multiple seating areas both inside and out allowed for us to spread out when needed and the bar/game room was a big hit. Just a few minute drive to Stoney Creek Golf Course, Lake Monocan and numerous hiking trails. Lots of local breweries/wineries also within 10-15 minutes to enjoy. Thanks for having us!

We took a week-long trip with three families (3 sets of married adults and six total "kids" aged 14-21) for a total of 12 people. This house had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The three young adult girls stayed in the space above the garage and everyone else stayed in the main house. There was even one extra bedroom. The house had everything we needed and was clean and cool. We did have to take the trash to a special collection area a few miles away but it's understandable with bears in the area. We did NOT see bears but saw several deer on the property. The property is very secluded. We could see neighbors houses but they were not close and it is very wooded (and hilly!) here. We spent a LOT of time in the game room/bar area playing pool and foosball and enjoying the beverages we bought at the many local wineries/cideries. We couldn't get the TV in the game room to connect so we just listened to music. The guys enjoyed an afternoon of golf just down the road. We visited Blue Ridge brewery (our fav for food), Bold Rock cidery (excellent ciders and we loved exploring the creek), Blue Toad cidery (great ciders, nice creek, great views, no food here), Flying Fox winery (great dry wines), Devil's Backbone Brewing Company (good food AND beer, guys especially loved this place), Hill Top Winery (ok sweet wines but if you only like dry wines, do not go here, the goats were a hit with the kids) and Brewing Tree Beer Company (Dara James sang and he is SO darn good, great food and slushies here). I was excited to try Sweet Bliss bakery but they were open on very limited days. If you want a whole dessert, you have to order 2 days in advance so we did not get anything. Just 0.4 miles from the house is a hidden gem of a park (Stoney Creek Park) which is well worth going to for picnicing and hiking. Overall the property was great for hanging out with our friend group and was a very relaxing. I would come back here again.

Had a fun weekend in Nellysford with our family! We had ample space for our party of 11. Had a great time playing around in the game room and enjoying the views both on the patio and in the living room. My only issue was the level of cleanliness. It wasn’t too bad as I’m not picky, but it wasn’t great.

This was a great house! We had 14 girls staying for a bachelorette weekend and had plenty of space. There had been a significant amount of rain just before we arrived and the rental company was great at reaching out to make sure everything was up to our standards. The house was exactly as listed and it had beautiful views from the front deck. Close to many of the local wineries.

Hillside Hideaway is a beautiful spacious home in a convenient location and looks exactly as pictured. The “Master Suite” is on the main floor, as well as a “den” with sofa bed option. The other rooms are all downstairs, along with a room above the garage. The kitchen was well equipped, with both a Keurig and regular coffeemaker, and almost everything else you would need. As mentioned in another review, they provide basic “starter supplies” of paper towel, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc. so plan on supplementing as needed (bring with you, or swing by nearby IGA grocery store). The game room, with billiards and foosball, was exactly what we needed for our extended family, and the main house Wi-Fi was strong enough for our adult kids to work remotely. We encountered some glitches (including non-working gas fireplace and fire pit), but management stayed in contact with us throughout, trying to get them resolved. In the end, they fairly comp’d us for things that couldn’t be immediately fixed, but promised they’d be rectified for future guests. Overall, the house was perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable family getaway.

Hillside Hideaway was awesome.. well appointed.. beautiful surroundings and loved the rec room.. Total of family members were 3 grown children with their spouses, 3 grandchildren and my husband and I.. we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary.. what a wonderful place to share all the love.. would definitely go back there to make more memories..

14 of my friends and I stayed here over the weekend and loved everything about this house! The home is very spacious and the kitchen is very well stocked with utensils, pots/pans, etc. This house is also in a prime location, 20 minutes from Wintergreen Resort and about 10 minutes from Devils Backbone Brewery and many other breweries. Would definitely recommend this property!!

It was a nice property and well suited for a large group

The house was lovely and very nicely equipped. We didn’t realize that the “Wintergreen package” did not allow us to play tennis. The house is convenient to restaurants and the amazing IGA, so we got takeout and groceries. Covid and the weather kept us from doing a lot of winter activities, but that was definitely not the fault of the house!

Very much enjoyed our stay here. Lovely house with a lovely view of the mountains. We had 18 people and fit fairly comfortably. We particularly enjoyed the game room and the great room by the fire...provided for some great hang out time. Unfortunately, the weather didn't allow for skiing, but there is plenty of nice trails and breweries in the area...which we took advantage of. Would definite stay again.

This was our first time Christmas going south, we always go North. Our host cancelled and we have to find a new place fast. No regret!!! Wintergreen totally took us by surprise. The mountain view was so beautiful! The house was well equipped, nice bedrooms and bathrooms and the place looks exactly like the pictures. The communication with the Host was super easy and quick. We had a large group and everyone enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend to stay here and we will be back!!!
