Ken and Wendy have made their property into the perfect Vrbo. The locale is great- the lake is gorgeous to gaze upon, Decatur is barely a two-hour drive from nearby St. Louis, and the setup of the house is AMAZING for big groups of friends/families. All the bedrooms are upstairs, which is perfect for those who want to sleep in, and all the living and recreation spaces are downstairs, so people can always keep the fun and games going. Additionally, something I cannot understate is how fun the hot tub was- especially since it was right next to the kitchen and dry bar. Amenity-wise- Ken and Wendy have stocked the home with absolutely everything you could possibly need. We found every bathroom item we could possibly need, as well as a stocked first-aid kit and TONS of towels. Wi-fi information is all over the place (which stops your pesky friends from constantly asking about it) and TVs are in every room, making sure that everyone (especially the kids) can stay entertained and relaxed. There's plenty of parking space, and the patio in the back is nothing if not picturesque. Finally- the communication and understanding shown by Ken and Wendy as hosts was nothing short of perfect. They were on top of things with punctuality and empathy. I have never said that a vacation rental was perfect, but I will be breaking that streak here. This home was truly the perfect location for the perfect weekend. I heartily recommend it for anyone looking, and I hope to stay here again.

Decatur is the half way point for us that live in a southwest suburb of Chicago and our Family from St. Louis… this house was perfect!! Great sized bedrooms, plenty of communal space, and such a beautiful view! Hosts were excellent to communicate with and even had a welcome bag with some goodies waiting for us! We will definitely be back

Our group enjoyed time together by the lake as well as meals both inside and outside with multiple gathering locations.

It was a family reunion and we also rented the pontoon boat. The house was like a maze and games ect was like a treasure hunt for family. The large deck overlooking lake decatur accommodated everyone easily. Loved it!

Ken and Wendy have clearly been hosts for a long time as they have perfected their role to a science. We had nine friends staying at this property for four nights. These friends had/have careers traveling internationally, some live overseas now. we have all broad experience staying in a variety of hosted properties and business hotels. We all to a person could not find anything Ken and Wendy had not already thought of to prepare this property to feel welcoming, comfortable and efficient. From the Welcome Bag they arranged on arrival, to the readily available bathroom sundries, we needed only to fill the pantry and the fridge. Communication with Ken was seamless. He responded quickly and clearly to all my communications prior to our visit. There was never any need to contact him during our stay as all questions had been answered prior to our arrival, and literature posted for guests filled in the rest. My friends and I cannot speak highly enough of Ken and Wendy and this property.

My family and I stayed here for our annual family reunion. We had a total of 10 adults and 2 toddlers. There was plenty of room for everyone to comfortably have their own bedroom. The house has a lot of games and designated room for movies and activities. The indoor and outdoor kitchen were great. The oven, outdoor grill, and blackstone all worked perfectly. We loved everything about this place and will be considering it again next year.

Our entire family had a great time during our weekend stay and we can’t wait to come back! The house was perfect! Clean, comfortable and full of amenities! We rented the pontoon and enjoyed a weekend of boating, dock fishing and swimming at this lake front property. The hosts are wonderful to work with which made our booking experience smooth and easy. This is our 7th annual girls trip and our 4th time renting a home through VRBO and everyone loved the property so much within the first few hours they requested that I book it for next years stay! Ken and Wendy were incredibly sweet leaving thank you gift for renting their home (nobody has ever done that for us), the house has EVERYTHING you can ever imagine needing, the house and property are beautiful. We brought our own tubes and floated all of Saturday. Highly recommend. No issues. I’ll be booking soon for 2024! Thank you!

First of all, Ken and Wendy are the best hosts we have ever encountered and we've used VRBO plenty. They go above and beyond for their guests and make sure that they have a 5-star experience. The house was huge and had so much space for multiple families. We spent most of our time in the sun room with the huge windows overlooking the lake. The adults enjoyed poker and games at night while the kids played video games in the bunk room. We rented the boat for our entire stay and it felt like we had the lake to ourselves. We swam every single day. Before the trip we were worried we would miss having sand or a beach but the kids were able to jump right into the water off the dock or the diving board. We loved the huge lily pad float for the water. There are plenty of life vests for your whole family for those that aren't strong swimmers. The fishing was amazing, as well. We fished right off the dock and one nephew caught 10 fish and a huge catfish (we released them). It was in the 90's while we stayed so we didn't really sit outside on the patios as much as we would have liked but there is a ton of outdoor seating for relaxing or eating. There is a gas grill, charcoal grill and flat top grill which made cooking for a huge group so easy. We were able to make s'mores on the outdoor fire table. Overall, we had an amazing experience and made some memories we will never forget. Our kids did not want to leave! We hope to be back next summer.

Had a great time...nice property.. beautiful lake setting...house clean and well equipped

First the location is right off of the highway which means it's really easy to get to, 5 minutes to walmart, grocery and little stores if you need them, which made the stay so much easier! Though because of that, you can hear and see the cars from the lake, which can take away from the relaxation a bit. Next the house itself is obviously a little on the old side and nothing is perfect, but it's exactly what you need! Comfortable beds to sleep in, enough bathrooms and tons of entertainment. From the arcade games to the TV's to the INSIDE HOTTUB, to the dartboard and even octogan billiards. When you're ready to come in from the lake there is lots to do. The owner left us alone and let us do our own thing, but was available if we needed anything. On top of that gave us a gift card to the butcher which was over the top friendly! The outside area is pretty great as well, 2 docks to walk out of, plenty of area near the lakefront and enough grass although not flat to play games like catch or frisbee on. Also included are a built in grill and blackstone which made cooking for everyone pretty simple. Mayflies were out in LARGE quantities for our June trip, so if you really hate bugs, watch out for them. Overall we had a great stay and I would recommend.

It was great. lots of steps for older people but manageable. Boat was first class. Would recommend to anyone. William Street roadwork was a definite drawback but it will not be forever. God Bless America!

Very nice place to stay for the weekend. There was plenty of room for privacy and for entertainment. I was able to bring a pontoon and there was plenty of room at the dock to accommodate that. Many things were thought of that I have never had before from a rental such as hygiene items for your use in the bathrooms. Overall, I recommend this place for any event you may have.

We had a group of 8 adults and 7 kids ranging 1.5-6 years old. The house was very clean and well stocked upon arrival with extra toiletries, games, bath towels, and outdoor items. We had plenty of room for the kids to play/run around, as well as having a comfy space for everyone to sleep. We all loved having access to the lake and using the Lilly pad, kayak, and paddle board (the kids spent hours playing captain and fishing). We were also pleasantly surprised to receive a note and nice welcome gift, a great extra touch! Ken was prompt and friendly while communicating. Our group spent a lot of time on the lake, in the house, and also ventured out to the zoo, Children’s Museum, and Splash Park - would recommend!

This was a nice,, large house that accommodated our large family. Some things are a little out dated, but it worked out really well for all of us!

Excellent find! Very clean, fabulous place in a really nice location. Awesome host who responds quickly. Comfortable beds and plenty of them, 4 bathrooms all have extra supplies and a couple have fancy showers, kitchen is quite fine. And then there are the fun things! We will be back!

We were a extended family group of 10 adults and 4 teens. The house had an electronic pinball machine, a video game machine with many different games, amnd a bumper pool table for the teens and a puzzle table and TVs in all the bedrooms for the adults. We came for our every other year extended family Thanksgiving celebration that took place at a home across the lake. So, the location of this VRBO was perfect. We all enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

great house for family on the lake. kids had a blast. combined with the great weather, this made for a memorable weekend.

Looked for a comfortable place to stay in Decatur and this home was just that. Beautiful lake view and comfortable bed, and plenty to choose from.

Wonderful stay! Had everything we needed!! We celebrated an aunts 92 birthday. Only negative for her was maneuvering stairs to get to each level. We will definitely stay here again though!

If you are looking for a great family getaway, this is the place. It was beautiful!! Had games, hot tub, boats, kayaks, karaoke, and the list goes on and on. If you have any questions, Ken is on the ball with answers, before, during and after!!! Such a great person to plan a trip with. He left an awesome welcome bag that made things even more special then it already was!!! Thank you so much!!!

We absolutely loved our stay here! It was very clean, had extra toiletries for anyone who forgot anything, & it had all needed kitchen items (e.g., silverware, pots and pans, plates, bowls, coffee maker etc.). This house also had a large enough table and living area for all of the guest to be at, at the same time. Lastly, we enjoyed spending time in the lake and in the hot tub!

Just WOW!! This house is exactly what we wanted and expected. There where even a few extra touches from the owner that we really enjoyed. Beautiful home, right on the water and wonderful amenities. Thank you so much, and we really hope to be able to return.

10 out of 10 reccomend this property! The pictures online didn't do this rental justice. It is so much greater in person! We had an absolute blast! Our family of 13 fit and still had room for more. The property was clean and so well stocked. Seriously, check it out!

We had an excellent time at this house. Will definitely rent again in the future.

First, please know we have stayed in a zillon VRBO"s with a group of 12-15. This may have been one of the best! The owner has thought of everything! He supplied so many "extras" We went with an 18 month old and he even had a life jacket for him!! Not going to tell all the extras as the surprise was so fun to find. Bathrooms are magnificently appointed, kitchen was equally appointed. I had a question the day before we left and it was answered immediately. Parking was great. You will never forget this house as it will be the house you can get lost in. 2nd day in people were still asking, How do I get to the front door, where is that game room etc?! Couldn't count all the TV's. There were fun little touches like alarm clock phone chargers, dual Keurig machine, kcups AND pots of coffee, much used ice machine. View was beautiful! There is some road noise but we usually couldn't hear it over the kids in the water and the bags tourney going on. Go and enjoy!

It was a great vacation house for our large family. House was big enough for everyone to sleep comfortably and it was so great to be close to the lake. Host was super nice and fast to respond. Highly recommend this house.
