We enjoyed our stay at the Mermaid House. Access was easy and host was very quick to respond. Everything was as described and we had no issues at all. We hope to return again!

Prime location for a restful beach getaway. Apartment is across the street from the beach and also includes a pool when you want a private dip. Equipped with all you need for the beach and for it to feel like home. Loved my stay and I’m already planning my next visit. Kevin was a great host. You won’t regret choosing the Mermaid house.

This was our first time on the island. The location to the beach was fantastic. Be aware this is the unit on the second floor so you have to use the steps all the time. The first floor is not part of this home. There really isn’ta whole lot around the island to “do” but all the restaurants were great with no waiting. Not a big deal, we only go for the beaches which were nearly empty and very clean. The pool was a good size for the 4 of us. Generally it was a very clean place though not very “beachy” if you want that vibe (considering it’s called the “mermaid house”) . I do wish the main bedroom had a TV and that it had a washer and dryer (our fault for not paying attention to that detail) also, can they should consider stocking the kitchen with more kid, friendly, durable dishware. We like using plastic cups and plates if we are taking lunch down by the pool or whatever. It could be stocked with a few more items. Overall, nice place I would encourage them to do a little maintenance, updates, painting, around the property and it could be five stars include all around! Good stay though

Excellent choice for Hutchinson Island! Pool and outdoor area was perfect. Very short walk to the beach. House was clean and comfortable. Restaurants and jetty within a few minutes drive.

We had a blast swimming in the pool and going to the beach to enjoy the ocean. The rental was perfect for our needs and allowed us to relax and enjoy a week in the sun. We'd definitely rent here again! Fort Pierce had everything we needed for an amazing getaway - restaurants, shopping, beaches, sightseeing, etc.

We booked this trip for a getaway during spring break. The house was impeccable and Kevin was a tremendous host.

The property was very clean and met our expectations. We didn’t cook so can’t comment on the kitchen accommodations. Kevin was very accommodating with any needs we had. The pool area was very beautiful but the water was very cool. For sure we would stay again

This was our third year doing a VRBO rental in Florida but our first time in Fort Pierce. For our family, there were pros and cons to the property. Pros: Beach access was easy and convenient. We enjoyed both jumping waves at the ocean beach and jet skiing on the calm inlet Size and space in the house and at the pool were perfect for our family of 4 Condo was clean Kevin was very responsive and helpful Plenty of local seafood restaurants nearby Cons: -When we were booking on VRBO we selected hot tub as a requirement and this listing came up. Kevin mentioned a jacuzzi in the description as well. The jacuzzi was very cold just like the pool. We were looking forward to putting the kids to bed and walking downstairs to our private hot tub, so this was disappointing and we felt misleading. -The decor especially in the bedrooms was lacking. Could at least use some lamps. -The dishes / kitchenware was sparse. We wished we would have brought some disposable silverware, plates and bowls because there were like 3 of each. No baking / pizza pan. -Fort Pierce in general is more of a retirement community and less of a family getaway in our opinion.

We stayed at Mermaid House for 2 weeks in Feb. 2023. It was a lovely stay, and we would visit again. The house is very close to the beach; you walk about two blocks, cross Rt. A1A, and a park with an entrance to the beach is right there. The property has a salt water pool, adjacent to a small tiki bar. WiFi reached out to the bar, and one of us worked there with our son when he joined us for a few days, with dips in the pool when we got tired of looking at computer screens! The apartment is very clean and well stocked— towels, beach towels, beach chairs, etc— and Kevin is a super-responsive host. The living room is very comfortable and has a big TV. I would mention one thing: the house the apartment is in is right on Rt. A1A, which is a busy route. The front bedroom, even with well-sealed windows, gets traffic noise. Now, we’re very sensitive to noise, and we slept in the back room, which is very quiet. This may not bother a lot of people. Our adult son had no problem whatsoever. Thank you, Kevin!

Nice property, a very short walk to the public beaches. Restraunts and bars are within 1.5 miles, along the picturesque Fort Pierce Inlet. Other beaches abound to the north and south, and are a short drive from the Mermaid House. The kitchen is adequately equiped. Internet was fast and reliable. We wish the hot tub worked, but all in all we would stay here again. Kevin was a pleasure to work with as well.

The location of this property was perfect for the two of us, over 65. We really enjoyed walking to the Pickleball courts at Jaycee Park. The walk to the beach was short and easy. The restaurants, all a very short drive away were fun, good food and seemed to always have music when we were there. We really enjoyed relaxing on the swings at the house. We didn’t really use the pool since it is not heated, but enjoyed relaxing by it. Really enjoyed this area of Hutchinson Island, very quiet and relaxing!

Comfortable and spacious. It could use some additional amenities for people spending an extended visit.

Kevin was brilliant, attentive and responsive. Plus a really nice guy! The amenities are great, full kitchen, two bedrooms, 3 beds, plenty of room. The lounge has really comfy couches. Not far from downtown and a 100 steps to the beach. Well done Kevin, highly recommend the place!

My husband and I rented the Mermaid House for a fun and relaxing time away. The house was very clean! The beds were very comfortable. We loved the pool! The beach access was directly across the street. Having a private pool and the beach so close was perfect. We could watch the sunrise from the balcony in our PJ's! It's a short drive to many of the local restaurants. Chuck's Seafood was our favorite! It is a second floor apartment so there are quite a few steps to go up and down each time you go to the pool or anywhere else. Kevin was extremely nice and got back to us quickly when we had a question. We would defiantly stay there again!

This property was exactly as pictured on Vrbo and was fabulous.communication was very good, no problems. Wish we would have had a beach umbrella but in all a wonderful location and property.

Property was perfect for a 5 day 6 night stay. Beach is a short walk away and my kids enjoyed the pool. Good central location that is close to many good restaurants.

My husband and I and my favorite cousin (all adults; 50 and over) had a wonderful stay. Kevin, the property owner, was extremely responsive before, during and after our stay; whenever we needed him or had a question. Kevin even asked our opinion on what would make the property a more outstanding experience for us or future renters. He is very proactive in his guests happiness and comfort. The property itself: The beds were comfortable as well as the pillows. The place had a home feel and inviting atmosphere. We were totally at ease with its set up. Clean and neat and nice accommodations from the wifi to the TV to everything. The pool was nice, and the tiki bar was a nice place to sit and have a homemade cocktail. We enjoyed the outdoor area and had our coffee on the upper level deck on the wood swing to see the sunrise every morning. We got some great photos! LOCATION: We could NOT have gotten a better location! We could walk to a beach or beaches, and the property was on the 25 mile stretch of beach(s) and no beach was truly crowded. Had all kinds; reef beach (bathtub reef beach) for snorkeling, WAVY beach (to belly surf or surf or just plan jump and play in the waves, to CALM beaches (for kids or for just plain swimming. ALL beaches have shells, and yes, we took home about 25 pounds of shells.. hahaha.. (more like 4 pounds, but my husband would say otherwise). FOOD: There was PLENTY of cheap and expensive places to eat. Highly recommend CHUCK'S SEAFOOD for a pricey yet unique dining experience! Great for a special occasion and BEST oysters and super fresh catches of the day! On the cheap, the Jetty lounge (down on the corner, short drive) had the BEST FROZEN RUM RUNNERS to go! A local dive bar with excellent non-expensive drinks. We had a great time there. We had EVERYTHING from little $ to expensive near us. I could go on, but we loved sampling all the nearby places to eat and drink. Excursions: We LOVED LOVED LOVED the "Get up and go Kayaking" excursion (there is a day and a night one) on the clear bottom kayaks! This was a MUST DO when visiting this property! Sailboat rides on the ocean and water tours were also wonderful. I can't tell you how this vacation was one of the BEST vacations we ever had. We left rested, well satisfied and how to visit the property again in the future. Thank you Kevin for the wonderful stay! Wendy, Chuck and Christie :)

A great little house with several nice features. Though we didn't use it much, the hot tub and pool were very nice. Spacious living and cooking/eating space. We like having windows open so it did get a little noisy with traffic on the weekends, but most of the time it was fine. Especially liked the close access to the river beach park and other things like restaurants, etc. were an easy bike or short drive away. Will definitely consider returning!! J&A

I had driven by this property on previous vacations, and was intrigued by the mural and exterior deco. When I saw it as an option on Vrbo, I took a shot. I contacted the property own for images of the interior, which he promptly added to the listing. I booked immediately! The property did not disappoint!! A spacious kitchen, a comfortable living room with a smart TV, a large master bedroom with a very comfortable king size bed, and a second bedroom with two twin beds. The interior decor was simple and tasteful. One of my petty complaints with many rental properties in the past is the shower. This one was excellent! Silly, I know. The property has a nice drivewsy
