The property was just as described. We had no problem getting here from the airport. Kathrin and Klaus were great hosts, they answered any questions we had and gave recommendations based on our aspirations. We came here for 10 days to celebrate our 10th. Anniversary 🎉 We accomplished seeing too many things to mention but some of the highlights were, aurora borealis-right from the property, diamond Beach, horseback riding on black sand beach in Vik, geysir, glaciers, volcanoes (unfortunately none erupting at the time we were there-next time!), caves, many, many waterfalls and so much more. I highly recommend that you stay here !!!

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location is great - peaceful and serene yet easy access to multiple destinations. The cottage is charming and nicely appointed - had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting in the comfy furniture and gazing out at the view. Hosts were delightful and had some great recommendations. Already planning to return next year with my husband and we will definitely stay here.

Very peaceful and conveniently located for a quick trip to Akranes

Kathrin was amazing at communication throughout the whole booking process. Any question answered quickly. The house is in the most gorgeous setting, absolutely breath taking. We also saw the northern lights! A brilliant location for seeing them as hardly any light pollution. The house is lovely and warm and was a brilliant base, which was fully equipped for exploring Iceland.

Unfortunately there were water issues at the property and we were unable to stay and had to book something else. The drive was far from the city and I wish we would've known this prior to making the long round trip drive (over an hour each way in the dark and with snow) before showing up to be told the water wasn't't going to be working.

We enjoyed the view and the northern lights from the cottage. The nearby food options were delicious. The cottage was perfect for our short stay, but too crowded for 5 people for a longer stay. It was difficult to find the location, the navigation kept telling us to turn on the wrong road and later to drive through a new house, but we eventually found it. The hosts were very friendly and provided updates before and through our stay.

A lovely place to stay with incredible views. The cabin is warm, comfortable and well equipped and Kathrin is a wonderful host. Saw the aurora too - what more could you want!

Kathrin & Klaus were wonderful hosts! They are easily assessable for any needs you may have, as they live right next to the cottage! The Cottage is private, cozy and has AMAZING views! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped for your needs and the bathroom was clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

This wonderful well appointed cottage was a highlight of our stay! It is located in a stunning setting with a spacious living and kitchen area to relax and enjoy the views of the mountains and lake. It was very clean, with comfortable furnishings throughout in the bedrooms, dining area and living room. Kathrin greeted us warmly upon arrival. Our family of 3 enjoyed staying here tremendously. We had sought out this booking of this summer house months ago for the possibility of viewing the Aurora Borealis! Our dream came true as Claus came over to inform us that it was happening! We watched the lights overhead with our hosts at the top of their driveway. They provided chairs and blueberry tea as we all marveled at the spectacle above us. It was a dream come true as we watched Lady Aurora dancing with swirling and pulsating colors. Our only regret was that we only had one night. We highly recommend this cottage and appreciated the hospitality of Kathrin and Claus.

This is a great place. Kathryn is a wonderful host, and communicated with us brilliantly. The property is beautiful, and in a perfect location … far enough away to be secluded, but close enough to Reykjavik for all the city’s activities. I highly recommend.

Kathrin's house was the perfect place to relax and regroup during our Iceland visit. The property was beautiful and the house was perfectly appointed with everything we needed. The chocolates on our pillows were a lovely extra touch! :) Communication with Kathrin about our arrival time was the best I've ever had, and we appreciated her flexibility and graciousness when we arrived a bit later than anticipated. I highly recommend staying at Kathrin's home if you have the chance!

My family and I stayed for one night as we made our way around ring road. The host was very friendly, a great communicator, and showed great pride in how well the property was maintained. The view is beautiful with a large deck overlooking a lake and mountains. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you'd need for preparing meals. The beds are comfortable with great black-out shades for long summer nights. The host even provided a guest herb garden for cooking. Overall fantastic lodging and great host. Thank you for your hospitality!

It is a very helpful and nice couple who rent out this beautiful house on their plot. The location and views are beautiful and the house contains what you need to have a great stay. There is no TV which was no problem for us and the fireplace can not be used, which was the only thing we missed.

We had a fantastic stay in this lovely cottage just off Route 1 outside Akranes. The view is amazing and we enjoyed simply sitting in the wonderful lounge and watching the ever changing scenery and skies that Iceland is blessed with. The cottage is very well appointed and clean and had everything that we needed for our stay. Kathrin and Klaus were fantastic hosts and gave us tips on seeing the northern lights and even let us know when they were appearing in the evening, which was much appreciated. At the end of our stay some bad weather rolled in and made it difficult to get to out next place we were staying in Iceland and they offered all sort of helps and weather/road updates to help us out, which was really very kind of them indeed. We would not hesitate to stay here again and thoroughly recommend it.

We booked for 1 night, to extend our stay having been elsewhere, but the promise of the Northern Lights meant last minute changes. This place didn’t disappoint. We got a warm night, comfortable and well equipped, and the setting allowed us to fully enjoy a huge Aurora display from the decking area. The hosts were helpful and friendly.

We absolutely loved the cozy cottage( great name). It was clean, well stocked with most things we needed, peaceful, beautiful scenery, quiet, comfy bed, nice hot shower. We were extremely happy with our choice for our first two nights in Iceland.

I stayed at the property for 4 days as a quick getaway. Property is perfectly located to get that quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Amazing views and very peaceful stay , just what i needed. Super clean , great location , and the owners were super helpful with detailed directions on how to get there. A perfect getaway.

This is a lovely, private cottage with all needed amenities and quite roomy. Lots of windows in kitchen/living area. Stocked with what you need (dishes, cups, etc). for cooking if that's in your plans. Gorgeous view and location good for various day trips. Friendly, helpful hosts. Would definitely stay here again.
