Originally, we were looking at rentals in the southern Poconos region but lakefront homes were out of our price range. After expanding the search criteria, we found this location and were thrilled. The property was exactly what we were looking for for our fishing vacation. The lake was well stocked and appeared very clean. The area is very remote so pack your food, although after some googling, I found a small grocery store called Zazzara's about 5-6 miles from the house. The owners had plenty of other supplies available, such as paper towels, tp, napkins, etc. My only critique is that the house could use a top to bottom, professional, deep cleaning. The kitchen, bathroom and carpets were cleaned but the house was very dusty with noticible cobwebs. My husband even cleaned out the filter for the window AC located in the back bedroom. We were in town for a family wedding. This place is really close to a couple of wedding venues, including Birchtown Stables. The home is comfortable and has a gorgeous view of the lake. It is easy to find and there is plenty of parking in the driveway. As a group of 4 adults, we found we had plenty of space to spread out and be comfortable. We loved that there were more than enough towels provided for each person. The owners are super responsive. We had a smoke detector beeping because the battery needed to be changed. They immediately came out and even left extra batteries should we need any others. They told us they are adding laundry facilities this summer. That will make this home even better. We would definitely stay there again.

We couldn't be happier with our stay, the property, or the host. The place was perfect and the host extraordinarily responsive and accommodating. The only complaint we have is that our stay was too short :). We'll rectify that next time!

We had an excellent stay at the lake house. The hosts, Robert and Karen were friendly and provided lots of excellent up to date info about the area prior to and during our stay. The house was clean and provided great access to Lewis Lake. It was a great weekend to getaway from work and reconnect with old friends!

The house on the lake was easy to get into, close to Elk Mountain, and as advertised. There was an issue with the heat when we returned from skiing on Saturday, so Robert and his wife drove up and tried to get it fixed. Unfortunately no techs were available to come out on a Saturday night so they opened up another section of the house with electric hear, comped us a night and we made the best of it. In the end it was a pleasant stay.

My family and I stayed at Bob's place on the lake for a quick two day ski getaway at Elk Mountain where the home is about 7 minutes from the slopes. Bob was super helpful answering a few questions we had. The house is older but very clean and tidy and perfect for our family of five.

Everything about our trip was wonderful. The hosts, Robert and Karen are delightful and had provided lots of excellent info about the area prior to our arrival. The home itself was clean and provided great access to Lewis Lake. It was also close to many attractions and dining options, with a great place within walking distance. We look forward to returning here in the future.

The cottage was comfortable and clean. Bit dated but that’s what cottages are about. Bob and his wife where lovely. The kitchen was fully equipped. BBQ worked great. It does only have Roku on the TV. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

A beautiful property on a beautiful lake. Well equipped home on a great lake-front lot with dock. Good restaurants and wonderful scenery.

I rented this lake house for the weekend and I have to say from the start to the end of your stay Robert and his wife were accommodating all of our needs. I was warmly surprised by how welcoming they were in greeting us to their house and showing us around. We loved that the house had a terrace and a lake! My husband enjoyed fishing and I loved the view! There was an abundance of extra towels in each room. The kitchen and all the appliance we needed and we loved the outdoor grill and fire pit. It was really kind of Robert and his wife to get us a list of places to visit for the kids and for us to end during our stay. If you are looking for a peaceful and quiet getaway, I recommend this spot!

Nicely laid out 3 bedroom cottage exceptionally well equipped. Nice slopping lawn to a lovely small swimmable . Great deck on 2 levels facing lake with a good propane grill. Three air conditioners and several overhead fans kept the place comfortable. The icing on the cake was the proximity to the D&H bike trail, 1/2 mi. away. Our hosts were very friendly and accomodating.

My sister and I spent 4 wonderful days here in early August. We hiked up Elk Mountain (1000 feet elevation), rode our bicycles on the nearby rail trail, went swimming every afternoon and had the whole lake to ourselves. Our hosts were welcoming on arrival and responsive before and throughout our stay. Their house was very comfortable for two people - we particularly enjoyed having morning coffee and lunch on the porch, under an umbrella, overlooking the lake - 'serenity plus'! We brought groceries with us, as the nearest store was about 10 miles away, and the small general store 0.2 miles down the road was great for sandwiches and takeout pizza - it's also the place to meet the friendly locals. I was concerned there might be a problem with mosquitos, being right on the lake, but I'm happy to report that there were none. This was a lovely spot to unwind and just what we needed.

Cozy house with good patio and outdoor setting by the lake. Hosts were super hospitable and waited almost an hour to greet and show us around. Thank you for letting us stay :)

The property was nicely set up and ready for us upon arrival. The check-in process went very smoothly and Robert was very easy to communicate with. The property was clean, homey and only a short 10 minute drive to Elk mountain. There is a nice restaurant nearby as well for post ski drinks and food. It was a great stay to get out and ski for the weekend at Elk.

Really great house, right on the lake and a short 10-15 drive to Elk Mountain. Owner was great, waited for us to give us a short but thorough walk thru when we got there. Place was very clean, and stocked with almost all you will need. Neighborhood was super quiet, and I imagine would be great in the summer as well! It really felt great to come from a day of activity and end up at this comfy, home. Only suggestion would be to buy a bigger bed, the full size bed is very small for a couple, and while serviceable, was a bit hard.
