This was just what we were looking for - a small, quiet country village. We enjoyed learning about the history of the area, the nice walking/hiking paths through the Sierra, and enjoying the friendly local villagers. The accommodations are modest. The posada is a rustic, historic old house that has been updated and provides all your basic needs. Breakfast is provided and is very good. When not out exploring the area, we enjoyed sitting on the veranda overlooking the garden or chatting and having a glass of wine one of the common areas.

We had to modify our plans a bit due to the one local restaurant being closed when it was scheduled to be open. Since we had a car, it was easy to drive to one of the nearby villages for dinner, but we would have enjoyed having one meal there...

The hostel is an old house centrally located in the medieval and unspoilt small town of Castaño de Robledo. It has been carefully restored keeping many of the interesting period features of the house, and tastefully furnished. Our room was clean and comfortable. Guests have access to a fully equiped kitchen, a pleasant garden and a lounge. Sasha, the host, was extremely helpful and a mine of information about the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and were sorry to leave.

Beautiful house in one of the beautiful small villages in the Sierra de Aracena. Very friendly hosts.

Just a small issue: Toilet didn't flush well, bed was very soft for my liking, otherwise a perfect stay.

Loungefull of books, the sun terrace (where we had breakfast), the garden with fruit trees, homemade jam and marmelade, the quiet, the hosts, the charming village, and of course, the incredible walks (printed routes, maps, and advice provided the hotel).
