I still remember the evenings. You just had a long and eventful day and then you find peace at night when you sit on the terrace, having some wine and talk. Overlooking the city. And when you start to get sleepy, you lay in such a comfortable bed that you doze off within an instant. I would definitely come back and stay here again! Sorrento is the perfect base to visit all the other interesting cities from the Amalfi Coast (like Positano with the ferry or Pompeii with the train)

It’s difficult to get to. So if you have suitcases and you are taking the bus to get to Sorrento from the airport, you’ll have to rely on the bus or a taxi. But the taxi’s are pretty expensive and the busses will maybe show up. Or maybe not. So take your pick to get your stuff up there, but after that you should definitely rent a scooter. Not only for the experience, but also because parking your car in Sorrento is a challenge.

Loved the views and the hosts. We also loved the animals. The views are amazing; it would be difficult to beat. The apartment is very comfortable and having 2 bathrooms is fantastic. The host left ample breakfast, and there is also plenty room to cook if you wish. There is a great restaurant within easy walking distance (Ristorante Santa Croce Al Pico) with the same views and sunsets - this you must do whilst having an evening meal or drink. The bus goes from the top of the road (in front of Hotel Prestige) to either Sorrento or Positano so it is a great location to be in the middle. The train is easy from Sorrento to Pompei for another great day out. The accommodation could not have been better. It was amazing. Guests only need to be aware of transport to and from Sorrento - if they do not have a car. As you are in the hills with an amazing view and quiet location, you need to get to and from the town, and it is not really the best environment for walking, so set up arrangements with a good taxi - the manager for this property can do this for transfers to and from the airport, but also make arrangements for the trips you need in between. We used Taxi Sorrento who were very reliable. The Hotel Prestige also have a hotel bus going at several intervals per day to Sorrento; they also let us on their bus for a EUR 7.50 each, which was a great option. Taxis back from town are easy from the taxi rank at the train station.

Casale Ianus is amazing. Anna-Lisa was charming, wonderful and very accommodating. Be prepared for a short hike from Sorrento, but it is more than worth it, the view is astonishing. You can see the entire bay of Naples, and at sunset the whole bay glows deeps reds. The flat is lovely. It had everything we could need. We were even treated to fresh fruit from the hosts fruit trees. I would thoroughly recommend. We will defiantly be back.
