We arrived at the property and where impressed with its close location to the centre of Keswick. The property is access by vehicle down a narrow lane. Reverse parking into the bay outside the property is advised this will make entry into and exit from the bay easier. The ground floor was accessed via the kitchen and very nice it is. It is also the eating area. Upstairs the bath was a lovely after a days walking. The bed was most comfortable also. We had a lovely stay and would stay here again.

Quiet location but still very convenient for the centre of town (less than 10 minutes walk). Well equipped kitchen. The bedrooms are conformable with plenty of storage. Front room well furnished and comfortable. Overall an excellent holiday cottage.

Second time at Birchgate. Is very near to town centre and the lovely Fitz park so ideal location and there is a parking slot outside which is a bonus in Keswick. The kitchen is large and has all the necessary equipment although a small freezer box wouldn’t be amiss. The cottage is cosy although could do with a little tlc. The bathroom is a good size but could do with a little cosmetic attention, also the water won’t stay in sink and the water pressure for shower is poor and changes from hot to cold, The double bed is uncomfortable but that may be personal preference. Like I said this was a return visit but mainly due to location.

Excellent location with parking on site. Good accommodation, but bathroom probably needs some attention.

Lovely comfortable cottage with private parking close to town centre.Kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. Would definitely stay here again.

Our family of four (with 3 year old and 8 month old baby) loved our stay in this lovely cottage which was a bit larger than we were expecting. Having a parking spot on the drive is invaluable in the busy Keswick residential area and helped with quick hops in and out of the car if it was raining with the kids. The kitchen is very good, clean and well equipped. Super to have a dishwasher and good washer-dryer. Lounge nice and comfortable, good smart TV. Beds comfortable and bathroom a good size for kids bathtime. Would stay again.

Had another great stay at Birchgate, been coming here for over 10 years now, so convenient for the town centre and as a base for enjoying the Lakes.

We enjoyed our stay at Birchgate Cottage, very comfortable clean and tidy. I did ring the office to say that the carpet area at the bottom of the stairs was very dirty they would have sent somone to clean but as it did not affect us we were happy to leave it . All in all a very enjoyable week. Parking space a bonus in Keswick!

Our elderly dog loved it, especially as there were large rugs on the laminate flooring so she didn’t slip. The location was perfect for her and loved her jaunts to the park opposite to watch for rabbits! The lake was within walking distance for her too.

The cottage is in a great location although parking space tight for a large car. The week we stayed one of the hottest ever so not happy that none of the downstairs windows or bathroom opened as locked and painted shut. Unable to have a good shower as pressure poor and temperature went from boiling hot to cold by itself . Lovely cottage but needs a bit of tlc and maintenance.

Well equipped cottage, lovely and warm with the log fire.Being ancient ourselves we found the tv very difficult to operate.

Loved every minute, well equipped with everything you need, loved the log fire, lovely and warm, comfy beds, great location by park and into Keswick. Very quiet on a night. Enclosed garden for dogs. Even did my washing before we came home. Great customer service. Very impressed

Lovely location . Very easy for town centre and walks to Braithwaite and Walla cragg from door . Very comfortable bed and warm and cosy inside . Every amenity you could ask for .. except microwave dishes . The curtains in the main bedroom are tired as is some of the deco and they let in the light from the security light on the neighbours yard opposite so until you get used to it .. not a good nights sleep .. carpets need a deep clean or replaced and there were for my liking a bit too many ornaments in the main bedroom and windowsills that could easily break . Off road parking a bonus and quiet at night .

We have used Keswick Cottages a couple of times now and their customer service is second to none. They are so knowledgeable on all their properties . Birchgate was ideal fir what we needed, a little base walking distance to Keswick over Christmas. It had the essentials needed, parking with enclosed garden for the pup. The lovely open fire was n added bonus. Would sty here again for sure.

Our third time in this house, it is really cozy, clean and just a minute's walk to the centre. Quiet too.

Perfect for a couple or young family - 4 adults might find the accommodation a bit cramped. Not sure how warm the property would be for a Winter stay. As usual in an older property a little TLC would not go amiss in a few places but this in no way detracted from our stay.
