Our 15th day of cycling around the Netherlands was met with smiles at the Carlton. Bo did a great job of getting us checked in and settled.

Disappointed

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Facility and room was clean and comfortable.

The staff is amazing. The rooms were lovely. To get into the shower/bathtub is the only problem. As the sides of the tub are very high, it is very hard and dangerous for people who are not in good shape. If the are rooms with walk-in showers, it would be wise to let their older guests know of the option.

The hotel is located in a quiet place. The staff is very friendly and polite.

Positives: - good location - nice period building - comfy bed - restaurant food is nice - polite reception staff Improvements: - rooms extremely dated. Bathroom for instance.. for this price I would expect a renovated bathroom. - the room decor (e.g. red pattern carpet) is dark and dated. Needs to lighten up. - would be nice to have a proper coffee - breakfast staff not easy to get hold off and always look confused - restaurant waitress spoke very little English. She explained the dish all wrong. Explicitly asked for no shellfish - dish had prawns and mussels.

The interior of the property is very nicely decorated, elegant. The room is tastefully arranged, the bathroom and toilet are ingeniously separated. The employees are very welcoming and helpful.

Room was a little small or cluttered otherwise a decent room.

Cozy and comfortable hotel on a good location in a calm area very close to city centre. Very nice welcoming and friendly staff. Perfect for short visit in The Hague.

Super friendly service, especially in the reception. I only have two minor complaints. During my two nights, I did not have any soap in my room. Apparantly the delivery of soap was delayed, but with some effort it would have been possible to source soap from another place (like a grocery store…). I also found the breakfast buffet a bit limited. But overall, very happy about my stay.

I loved the staff, the cleanliness of the property. The service was very excellent. I will definitely come back.

Service level is truly top-notch - informed, personalised and discreet yet attentive and unpretentious - people who go above and beyond and who take pride in their hotel and what they do, and it shows. I had a short visit during covid/corona lockdown, travelling to NL for medical reasons, and the manner of service really stood out at an otherwise challenging time for everyone. This hotel is a timeless classic of The Hague, beautifully situated with lots of nearby greenery and well placed for access to the central old city, the Peace Palace and numerous embassies and international bodies. Very good food, superb breakfast, comfortable beds, the hotel has classic charm. Highly commended

We were staying at the hotel as our daughter lives in one of the adjoining streets. It was a convenient location but was extremely comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly too. A great stay.

Location was perfect for us. Near the Noordeinde with lots of eateries and bars. The staff were very friendly, particularly one of the restaurant staff (tall, slim, blonde chap) whose name we unfortunately didn't note. The bed was very comfortable (it had a thick mattress topper), made us realise we need to improve our bed at home!! The food in the restaurant was very good.
