I loved the location of the property, right next to the beach, and able to easily get in the ocean and walk on sand. the cultural center and all its activities and artwork and cultural displays makes this such a beautiful and educational resort. the dining with its wonderful, delicious and varied buffet with gorgeous views was a highlight. the bar area that served hawaiian style drinks and had its own fun menu made for fun times at the pool, jacuzzi or lazily sitting at the bar and talking. the convenience of the coffee spot with its breakfasts and pastries was amazing, as well as the shaved ice to stay cool, all very convenient and excellent. i loved how so many things were within walking distance. the highlight of the stay was the luau right on the premises overlooking the ocean. it was top notch. i am impressed, and thankful and you made my vacation special.

We booked this specifically because it is on the beach, sadly for us that beach was closed. Someone should have informed us that the hotel was hosting an international canoe competition the entire weekend. The beach inaccessible overrun with people & equipment, loudspeakers and announcements starting at 6 a.m. right in front of the extra money cost ocean view room we paid for. Services were full packed and busy. The entire weekend was CROWDED, and LOUD, no beach and pool full. It SUCKED!

Refused to give us ocean view room even though we specifically had asked and paid for it at online reservation , unfriendly front desk and poor room cleaning , not recommended for people who want nice quiet and private place to stay

The pool and lagoon were fantastic for the kids. The hotel itself felt outdated, and the service was average. We enjoyed the Luau; the show was excellent, though the included drinks could use improvement. The food was delicious but ran out quickly, and there weren't many options. Parking was convenient if you have a car, and there are several local restaurants nearby.

Although the pool is a bit small, I highly recommend this hotel. The service was quick, the room was a good size, and the staff was friendly.

The beach was nice. Very nice staff.

The property was very clean, rooms were comfortable, however, downtown Kona had many unsheltered people and they were noisy and stayed very close to hotel. Also, the very small beach was not private to the hotel, it was a public beach. Only 1 pool that was always crowded. When you think of a Hawaii vacation you think of peace and tranquillity. The hotel in this area was busy, loud and noisy

I really liked this Marriott. It was confusing as i booked a ground floor lanai room that went out to the property. The pictures on their site showed grass outside the room’s sliding doors. Apparently this is a mistake as there are no ground floor rooms snd we were on the 2nd floor with a view of the cement roof from The first floor. But other than that the stay was great and the staff wonderful.

Peaceful

The hotel was nice and very convenient for shopping and dining. We had a nice balcony view. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The beach was calm and very safe for the kids to enjoy. What I didn’t like is that they turn off the water at night without notice. I called at 4:30 am to notify them that the water was off and the receptionist told me that they turned it off but that it would be turned on again at 5:00 am. I called again at 5:30 am and she just said there was a “hiccup “ but that it would be turn on by 6:00 am. The water was turned on at 8:00 am right before we left the hotel. We couldn’t shower or get ready to leave to our destination early in the morning. The refrigerator wasn’t working either and when the supervisor was notified about it she seemed upset about it. I didn’t called about it again. We just dealt with it because we wanted to enjoy our vacation. We had to go to the ABC market downstairs every time we wanted something cold to drink. The room was dirty, the wall above the beds was very dusty, and the closet had a strong mold smell that we couldn’t use it to hang our clothes. I could deal with everything, but not the turning off the water without notice. It ruined our plans.

Good place in the town, with the beach (public but with lounges for hotel guests), pool. Close to city restaurants, shops etc. Beachfront view is spectacular!

The location was perfect for dining, shopping and swimming!

Oceanfront

Having a good number of vendors in the hotel made booking and accessing services and activities super easy. We stayed 4 nights, housekeeping only came once. That was the only thing i would have liked to be different.

I’ve stayed at King Kamehameha 5 times and this time was not happy with several things. Starting with pool area not enough lounges, the bar prices were extremely expensive, also the faucet on beach to rinse sand from feet broken. The room was ok other than I stayed 9 nights and room was only cleaned 2 times. I did notify front desk on 6th day which got me no more cleaning for the remainder of my 9 day stay.

Well, I found the King Kamehameha Courtyard by Marriott to be quite a decent spot for a stay, but it wasn’t without its rough edges. There by the beach, where one hopes for a bit of serenity, there were a few folks living rough, and it tugged at the mood I’d hoped to find. Now, I believe if more of us took the time, as folks have done in places like Seattle and San Francisco, where a bit of outcry led to tangible improvements, perhaps things could change here, too. By lending a hand and supporting local efforts, maybe we can smooth out those rough edges and reclaim the peace this place is meant to offer.

Definitely a place to stay. Location and staff are excellent. Rooms are a little small, housekeeping only every other day - expected more for the resort pricing. Did have a wonderful time and the hotel staff were a large part of it.

Well, 1. To start we did not get the Kamaaina (locals) room rate. 2. Not the ocean view we expected 3. Upon arriving to our room it had hair in the bath tub, the pictures & shelves had some kind of dirty splatters all over them, the bathroom sink had black mold or whatever under the rim 4. My pillow had brown stains on them 5. The "non-smoking policy was not observed by other guest meaning the room below ours smoked on the balcony & the smoke came up causing us to not being able to enjoy sitting out & the smoke lingered in our room

The Courtyard Marriott starts off with a positive impression, as the staff is nice and friendly. However, this changes if you question any charges, at which point the staff becomes less kind and responsive. While the hotel offers nice views, the experience is marred by the noisy and dirty surroundings, along with a noticeable presence of transients. Nights are especially noisy, making it difficult to sleep. Additionally, there are hidden fees, and parking is not complimentary even for guests staying over a week. Overall, the cons outweigh the pros, making it hard to recommend.

Location is perfect hotel is good but the room needs some upgrade a little run down.

House keeping never visited my room. It was weird. I asked for it when the hotel did not clean my room up after the first day, they never cleaned my room during my 3 nights of stay.

The hotel and the staffs are nice. Its a nice walking distance to stores, shops and restaurants. The beach on the property is so small and next to a pier. It didn't feel private at all. There are not enough sitting and umbrellas for hotel guests. Ordered chicken tenders and fries in room and I waiting for an hour to follow up and was told that they ran out of chicken and didn't even bother to notify us. It is cheaper than other hotels however has to pay for daily parking.
