The hotel is very dated, the restaurant was closed, which we were not aware of.
We were told a few days prior that a car park was not available & we would be notified if one became available. We were not notified but there was one on the day.
There was a smell on the floor we were staying, which was not pleasant.
We had a few issues with things in the room that were resolved.
The room layout is not ideal for using hairdryer etc, as power points are not close to the mirror & there is no dresser.

This is a comfortable and top hotel in a residential district. It differs from having no facilities and only room breakfast available. It is situated very conveniently for the Aeota centre but not much else. The area around was residential and whilst one always feels safe in NZ was a little edgy. Nearest food available was fast food 10 mins. In fairness 30 mins took you to the main CBD beside the sky tower. Would not use again as expensive for what it offered me but if you want a good quality room above all else it’s perfect.

Parkside was fairly centrally located, just a few minutes walk from the city. It was nice to be a bit further away from the city and offered a quiet space amongst the hustle and bustle of the city.

Starting to really show its age and somewhat run down in places, but good value for what it cost. I would say that don't rely on the internet for anything though – it was abysmal and i couldn't do any work on the Hotel wifi.

Hotel itself is great, staff were helpful and friendly but the area outside the hotel can feel a bit unsafe at times.

Location close to city approx 10min walk to CBD. Spacious and clean room with a comfortable bed to rest.

Excellent location, close to Aotea Centre. Red bus stops very close to the front door. Very comfortable and had everything we needed.

The property was situated on a hill so walking home every day was very tiring. But the hotel was clean, spacious for 4 people and had a nice little kitchen (refrigerator, microwave, sink and stove). I would recommend to others if they don't mind walking up hills at the end of the day.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and my experience was nothing short of disappointing. I had booked a multi-night stay but had to cut my trip short due to an emergency. My son had an accident, and I had to urgently return to Australia from New Zealand.
When I informed the on-site manager, of the situation, he assured me in person that I would receive a refund for the remaining nights. Trusting his word, I left the country. However, once I was back in Australia, I was shocked to find that he had changed his mind and refused to refund the money as promised.
This kind of unprofessional and unethical behavior is unacceptable. It's one thing to face an unfortunate situation, but to have the hotel add to the stress by reneging on their word is beyond frustrating. I would strongly advise future guests to be cautious and not rely on verbal promises made by the management at this hotel.
I definitely wouldn’t recommend booking at this hotel as they will steal your money and give you broken promises. I hope this review helps others avoid the same disappointing experience I had.

Excellent customer service. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and close to plenty of eateries and activities. The only downside to that is hearing sirens quite loudly in the night. Next time I'll just take ear plugs! A great stay.

Rang ahead to ask about parking as I have a RTT and was able to park right outside the doors which is a bonus when trying to find somewhere in the city with low underground parking. Easy check in and check out too. Room was great.

Great value for money. Room was large and spacious and had a balcony which was nice for fresh air. Unfortunately you were not allowed drinks in the pool area otherwise we would have used the spa pool. Property is dated but bed was comfy and it was quiet so we would happily stay again.

Good location, easy to walk to the Sky Tower and Queen Street. Nice and quiet and staff were friendly. Backs onto a park that you can walk through to get into the CBD. Room was pleasant, there was a mini kitchen and washing machine in the room which would have been very handy on a longer stay. The room was rather dated and could have used a repaint but thats not the end of the world. The shower was wonderful!

Wonderful spacious bathtubs, updated carpet and table and chairs, but the rest is 20 years dated (last stay was 21 years ago when we got married. Bathroom Door framing in poor condition. Lovely customer service. Did not try the food service. Parking felt safe. Great location. Handy kitchenette. Wonderful housekeeping service.

Best comfortable bed! I travel for work and hate it when beds are always hard and uncomfortable. This is forst time in a ling time i have stayed somewhere with such a comfy bed. I didnt want to get out

The room was spacious and clean and the bed was comfy. Good security using the pass keys. I did wish they had the cliche hotel vending machine and ice pail - Hubby and I were both looking for a cold soda/juice. Friendly staff and lots of restaurants within walking distance. There was a pretty park area directly behind the hotel with a large playground. I would definitely look to stay here again.

My I watch charger wasn’t compatible with the wall socket so I asked to borrow one. I forgot my own charger on the wall but returned theirs
