Check-in was a farce. Apparently I booked twice. Two rooms just for myself. Even though I clearly told the receptionist I hadn't, I was told I’d have to pay for both!! After some fuss, the manager got involved and cancelled one of the rooms. Room itself was ok. However, the walls are thin and I could hear the room next to mine. No doubt they could hear me too! The toilet seat was not clean but instead of wasting another hour trying to convince reception, I cleaned it with some paper towels. Croydon is still one of the worst places to live on this planet. It’s been going downhill for the last 40 years. No doubt it will only get worse.

We had to cut our trip early and didn't stay the 2nd night because we got almost no sleep the first night. The mattress was so uncomfortable despite there being literature in the room saying they were 'specially selected' owtte. The room we were given was a small double and a single bed despite selecting a standard room. This may not have been an issue if we could push the beds together but there was a bedside ledge fixed to the wall between the 2 beds making this impossible. Would never stay at this hotel again

Lovely staff at the hotel. Warm welcome, breakfast staff also lovely. Room was clean but basic, nothing spectacular but this is reflected in the price. Good value for money. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice. Perfect stay for one night, travelling to Gatwick the following morning.

Paid for breakfast the night before turned to to breakfast with my family the next morning only to be told we are not allowed into breakfast as our room number was not on the list even though I paid at the reception the night before after an embarrassing 30 minutes waiting while they let everyone through to the breakfast hall the 2 very very rude ladies return to tell us yes you can now go in to breakfast, without an apology for the mistake in their end , while we were initially turned away with everyone starring at us as if we were trying to claim a free breakfast . what an embarrassment the hotel staff just collected my money £32 pounds 2 adults and one 12 year old child but didn't add us to the breakfast listening.

Hotel was well presented, staff are all very professional, polite and helpful. Room was clean and well presented. lovely stay

I recommend this hotel, it's comfortable, clean and good places between Gatwick airport and London downtown. The binder was really of good quality.

No heating overnight so cold. Told receptionist nothing was done because they were busy.

Would defo recommend this hotel. Staff was friendly, room was clean and cosy and breakfadt was lovely. As a single parent with two kids I felt safe staying at this hotel.

All very excellent. But at breakfast pne of toasters not working, staff told me to use other one as 'it works', so waited 2 mins for tiast that did not toast, whikst staff fully aware of its malfunctioning. Not rotation of cooked breakfast enough so not so popular items ie mushrooms left a big pile of cold rubbery ones. Staff failed to explain key card needs taking out when entering room and as did not know had yo go back down to reception, with heavy bags and child again as I thouhht card had not been activated.I had not used one before, but there ard others like me. When I asked stFf if room card was activated yet , the girlbehind desk was very affronted and was sighing as I explained I could not getin. She then raised her voice go talk me through how to get in as though she thought i was either deaf or an imbecille

This is a very good hotel and its main advantage is its proximity to East Croydon station

We arrived to hotel to check in and the reception serving us asked my name and then turned to answer a phone. Meanwhile we stood waiting with other customers in line for 20 mins to get checked in while he was on the phone. When I called the hotel before arriving they had said there was parking in Ruskin Square and it was free once the hotel validated it. It turned out to be expensive parking. They validate for a minimum amount the rest we had to pay we ended up paying over $100 for parking. The car park was 10 minute walk we had to take our luggage to and from the car park and up the stairs as the lifts were not working. At this point I have decided not to use hotels.com again in future as our trip overall turned out expensive and not the price quoted by hotels.com extremely disappointing and would expect a refund for parking.

No hot water only go half refunds bill was 122 pounds only got 60 pounds back would like full refunds back

Lovely hotel and reasonable price for London. Great location, easy check in and friendly staff. Would stay again.

Great place to stay

The staff had excellent customer service. The room was clean. Thermostat was a little temperamental. Was convenient to order food in or if you wanted to go to bar in lobby for a drink. Easy access to train, tram and bus services. Would definitely stay here again or recommend to a friend.

Nice hotel. Booked an executive room and got early check in. You get 2 free bar coupons and other freebies which we appreciated. The AC didn’t work in our room and woke up a few times in the night. The breakfast bar staff didn’t want to serve us after standing their for a few minutes so we went elsewhere for breakfast.

Only stayed for the one night and it was a good night sleep.

Had a great stay. Proximity to East Croydon Station and Whitgift Shopping Mall was an added advantage. Staff were extremely helpful and always had a listening ear. Blaise at the Front Desk and Santana at the Bar were exceptional

The rooms could use a renovation. Breakfast was good.

Well maintained room.

Staff really nice and friendly. Problem with Cleanliness - it was very dusty so allergies occurred for everyone in the room. Mouldy around the bath tap and warm water was cloudy. There were no bottles of water. Nice it was right near the station and shops easy to get to.

The hotel is a few mims walk from East Croydon station. There are convenient stores nearby and shops & restaurants are within reach. Room was clean & basic but justifiable for the price we paid and much cheaper than staying in downtown London. Will book again.

No parking what so ever, they only have parking at the Russel square with whom they have partnered up but you still have to pay 12 pounds instead of 16 after 24 hours.

Wonderful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable room. Although the parking is close by and easy to exit it was terrible to enter even with Google Maps. But we did manage it. Would definitely stay again.

Great location to public transport. Enjoyed the hotel. Very clean. Nice polite staff. Broke my phone charger and the reception had no bother lending me another late at night.One tiny thing. Tea and coffee in room wasn’t replaced. I love my tea 🤗
