We really enjoyed two moghts stay at this hotel, as it offers easy acess to Dartmoor and good spa facilities. We also booked 40 minutes massage sessions for both of us and it was absolutely amazing. Big thanks to the fantastic therapist, Sarah.

Absolutely amazing hotel! Superb staff, top rate service and the food was divine. Plus an onsite Spa to relax in after many walks in the surrounding area. From check in to check out we were made to feel special and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely spacious room, comfortable bed and good bathroom. Nice view too across the gardens. The main restaurant evening meals were exquisite, service absolutely perfect with sunset views towards Haytor Rocks. The Blue Tiger Inn evening meals were great too, sitting on the terrace! And the included breakfast on our B&B booking was equally fabulous, setting us up for those walks up to Haytor, Burrator Reservoir and Becky Falls. Ample parking. Special mention to Tom, impeccable service and David on the front desk for being so approachable and helpful. Also Mike and Holly for their service too. Nice to chat to James also, not realising who he was. All so good we extended our stay by 1 night as there was availability, that speaks volumes in itself! Thank you all at Ilsington Hotel & Spa for helping us make memories for our wedding anniversary stay. M&J Ps in room homemade flapjacks are amazing!

My friend and I met at The Ilsington Hotel for a catch up and spa plus dinner and overnight stay! I had no expectations about the hotel in advance but I must say we absolutely fell in love with this delightful family run , wonderful friendly atmosphere. The three course dinner was the most delicious fine dining I had enjoyed for years, it was so tasty. The spa and massage were fantastic. You could relax in the gardens with a coffee or lunch and it felt like an escape from the real world. We also walked to Haytor nearby and enjoyed the fabulous beautiful Dartmoor views. There are many places to visit nearby. We will definitely return. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This short stay was our first time to this area of England which was a beautiful area. Although we have friends in Dawlish, we had never been to the Newton Abbot Area. This hotel was the the ideal size for me, not too big with pleasant friendly staff.Our room was well appointed and the only addition I would lik e was to add a heated towel rail in the bathroom. The Staff explained that the rails were part of the central heating system and to heat mine would mean that the whole hotel was heated. I agrreed with this but feel sure there is a way around this. I have heated rails at home which are on the seperate hot water
system, other people have electrically powered rails.
This would mean that wet towels would be easily dried in time for the next use and the bathroom would be warm
We had a very short stay to attend a wedding in the area, and would very much like to have a few more more days to explore the area, so hopefully we will be back .

The establishment is very well run by a team of friendly, kind, helpful and caring staff. The spa is a place you can easily spend a couple of hours relaxing and using the first class facilities. We had a pre-dinner drink in the lounge mulling over the menu before being shown into the dining room for a very lovely meal.
We would certainly recommend it and hope to return in the future.

It was great to be able to use the spa facilities after a day's hike on Dartmoor. The food was excellent and bedrooms were a decent size.

The rooms were very comfortable, as well as the lounges. The view from the dining room splendid. The food was first class but above all the staff were friendly, attentive and engaging.

Very enjoyable 3 day break at this lovely spa hotel in the shadow of Dartmoor. Spa facilities were excellent and not too busy whem we went. Croquet lawn out front and tennis courts in the village. 10 mins to Newton Abbot and Bovey Tracy if you want to eat out.

The hotel is not a four-star hotel. The walls are thin, we were kept awake by a blaring television, had to call the manager at 1.30am. Room too hot. Paint falling off the walls. Cleaner barged in without knocking at 9am. Manager Dave promised to refund me for part of my stay through Expedia and then refused when contacted by Expedia. So he LIED. On tap Guinness served out of a can. Oven chips served instead of thrice-cooked chips advertised. Really poor service. Drinks and food over priced. Would definitely not recommend this hotel. Poor poor service. £5 for the Guinness served out of can. Bedding old. Beds uncomfortable. Really terrible stay in this hotel. It’s more a red star than four star. If you want a comfortable break it’s not the place to go.

Negatives are wifi too slow to watch Netflix etc, needs black out blinds in rooms as woken early due to brightness through curtains, also had a really posh shower enclosure but the water pressure was not good.
Overall a nice pleasant stay but the small negatives did spoil the overall stay.

A great trip away, the staff were attentive and helped us to unwind and relax with suggestions of local things to do and see. The food in the restaurant was very good and a good selection of local drinks. Everything was clean and tidy, the only negative was that the wall between our room and the next was very thin. They decided to get up at 6am, had the TV on loud and then slammed their way out at 8am and we knew all about it but that was solved by a post breakfast snooze.

Lovely location in the national park, only a short drive to Torquay and Exeter. Plenty of parking.
Room was okay (due for refurbishment by the look of the bathroom especially, but very clean); however, the bed was not made properly and the mattress was not the best. Manager picked up our initial review and came to see us straight away which was good. We weren't after any freebies but were pleased to be offered another room... until he said it would cost us extra! Cheeky, to say the least. As we were only staying 2 nights, we didn't make a fuss but will not be returning or recommending to friends.
Had dinner in the restaurant on first night and it was excellent. Both breakfasts were also very good quality. Shame that the view from the restaurant is spoilt by an ugly outbuilding (must be a way to disguise it!).
Leisure facilities (only used pool, jacuzzi,
sauna and steam room) were excellent (new?) although the chap who came to kick us out at closing time needs to work on his people skills.
Didn't use the bar or gardens.
