Great location right on ocean cliffs of Algarve. Eat at the resort or better yet walk 10 minutes into town for an abundant choice of restaurants. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, robes and slippers for in room comfort or to walk to the pools (outdoor or indoor). Buffet breakfast more than amazing. Staff friendly and helpful

We loved our stay, fantastic room and good value overall, however some small gripes:
1. The hotel bills itself as 5*. While many things were excellent it kind of falls slightly short of that in my opinion.
2. Service is slightly off. Some excellent staff but for instance why would they top up my wife’s coffee in the morning but not even ask me if I wanted the same- just walked straight off? This happened several mornings. On another occasion we were told that the rooftop bar would not make a milkshake for my daughter but no issue with that at the pool bar..this kind of stuff is service 101 which I’d expect a 5* hotel to ace every time.
3. We had roaches in the room twice. Big ones. We were on the ground floor and we were told there is an epidemic of them in Portugal but if they come from the drains there has to be a way to stop them. NYC hotels control this, I’m sure they can also.
4. Other reviewers have commented on this but the pool needs to be retiled from scratch. They clearly are constantly repairing it due to the amount of patching / loose/missing tiles but close season 24 they should redo it properly.
5. We stayed half board and ate at the pool restaurant most nights. Same menu every night but enough variation to last a week. The seafood was excellent though and wine menu was fantastic value overall.
6. The experience could be elevated if they worked just that bit harder to do so. C’mon Tivoli- if you want to compete with the four seasons you need to do a bit better!

Charge $13 bucks Canadian for a fork and knife to be brought to the room.
Hallway rugs look like they’re from 1773.
Paint outdated and needs a new coat.

I would not rate this a 5 Star hotel. More like a 3.5/4. The property grounds and surroundings are beautiful! The room was very plain and the bed was not comfortable. No sheets on the bed, only a comforter. Service was ok, definitely not what you would expect from a “5 Star” luxury hotel. We arrived early and our room was not ready and check in is 3:00. They never notified us as they said they would, so we can to go ask if our room was ready at 3:45. This is a large property and never gave us an overview of where to find anything (gym etc). We had to figure out ourselves. No wash clothes in the bedroom. We had to ask multiple times to get wash clothes. In conclusion, beautiful property, not great service or rooms. Definitely not a 5 Star experience.

Loved this hotel. Perfect location to get a feel for the Algarve. Gorgeous views, beautiful hotel lobby, amazing restaurants with excellent food. Love the lawn area around the pool - one of my favorite stays anywhere in the last few years, checked all boxes. We only had 2 nights so wanted to be right “in it”, rather than in one of the villages - walking the cliff paths (or the street) to either of the beaches on both sides made the location perfect.

THIS HOTEL IS THE BEST IN CARVOIERO! I did not understand from the internet why it was so hard to find a beach front hotel in The Algarve. Now that I have visited, I recognize that the dramatic coast does not really allow for this which is what makes The Tivoli so spectacular. It sits on a bluff overlooking a spectacular rock formation as well as a water cave. The food, service, gymnasium, views, rooms and sitting areas at the bar all are exceptional. The hotel is an easy five minute drive from the trail head to the famous Seven Hanging hike. We did day trips all up and down the coast and everything easy to get too. The Caraviero main street with all the restaurants is a 5-10 minute walk, so nightlife is easy if you wish to leave hotel. We ate at Taste and a local pizza restaurant as well as enjoying lunch and the Saturday night BBQ at the Tivolo. EXCELLENT!

The views at this property are spectacular and it’as a relatively short walk to two beaches. The reservation process leaves much to be desired. I booked a room with two beds and was told that they could not garuntee two beds for two people. I canceled the reservation and rebooked a bigger room for three people occurring additional cost. To my surprise they tried to put us in a tiny room with one bed. After much complaining they put us in a room with two beds. Still not what I paid for. The good thing is that the room had two beds. The bad thing is that it smelled like a sewer. It’s a large property and lacks attention to detail I experienced in Hotels like Bairo Alto in Lisbon.

My family and myself were very disappointed. We didn’t get proper rooms for the money we paid . Our rooms were second category, we paid for superior room . My room was small like shoe box, looking on the parking lot and busy road. Hotel claimed to have beach but there is no access to the beach . This is very misleading . Hotel manager didn’t do anything to change for us room or correct negligence. I am requesting compensation for accommodation for all 3 rooms . We paid service and accommodation for 5 star hotel with access to the hotel beach that doesn’t exist .

Loved this property but there was no access to the beach bc the stairs collapsed and it was not noted prior to my booking. Staff was above 5 stars and area is walking distance to other beaches, shops, restaurants and town - and super safe!

In my opinion, not a decent quality to price ratio. Over-pricing everything in the resort is very outdated and unethical to the guest. Several issues in the room as well. Broken sign/ broken sopa bottle. I don't usually feel entitled enough to comment on such things but for the price paid, I expected much better quality of facilities and rooms.

To start off, it was definitely difficult to check out of this magnificent hotel. From check-in with Marco who upgraded us to a patio ocean view room to our last buffet breakfast everything was superb. The walk to the town and the local beach is easy. I actually like the pool restaurant better than most places we are in town. The pool and spa area was great. The gym looked well equipped. The Carvoeiro cave tour was breathtaking. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic setting, built into the cliff face. Probably the best views in the whole of The Algarve! Wonderful rooms with extraordinary views out over the sea. Amazing breakfasts, great food and drink during the day. Great staff who treat you like one of the family.

This apartment was great! It is nestled in the heart of Lisbon and is equipped with all the right amenities. It was perfect for two and the host was great with communicating and helped with a late check. Parking for fee is located within walking distance. Be aware, the party goes into the wee hours of the morning. I’m not a light sleeper and the apartment was pretty well noise proof but you can hear the thumping of the music a little. It didn’t bother me and I would definitely rent again. The apartment is maintained by a hotel staff. I thoroughly enjoyed.

Misleading information, rooms on the website are nothing like what you will receive. We were totally deceived.
Front desk will lie to you, no other rooms available until you show them online there are infact rooms available. Then they pretend, oh yes! OK! Let's see what we've got!!
Beware there is no beach...its long long gone....even the steps leading to the beach are broken and worn off. Signs that this place once existed years ago...but the website shows exotic beach and access.
The whole place is a wreck...atleast if you have really seen/visited 5 star resorts, if not then you will find it very beautiful.
Euro Cup was showing, but the hotel could not even provide a proper transmission. The whole cup was being broadcasted in frames and poor quality. This is such a let down!!
Lifts were deceiving. When u call for a lift on one side of the wall, the lift on the other side of the wall would open up. You have practically no view of the other lift....and vice versa. Its a game that keeps you guessing.
Do not order room service. Our hot chocolate by the time it reached us was no longer hot....it was room temperature chocolate. Have you ever heard of this!
Breakfast is not great, same menu everyday. We stayed 5 nights so we know. It was so monotonous.
From the time you arrive here, you will only blow your hard earned money, with zero value in return.
