Utilized this hotel as a home base during time in Reykjavik while incorporating a couple overnight tours as well. The staff were helpful and wonderfully accommodating to assist with baggage storage, late check out, early check in, great service. The hotel itself is centrally located, walkable to the best parts of downtown. It is a bit dated, but beds are comfortable, reasonably priced. Had some street noise, but ear plugs were provided.
Would stay there again.

First night of my trip. The best thing about the hotel is its location and the friendly staff, but unfortunately, that is where it ends.
From the 7 places I stayed at, here the breakfast was the worst, with the most basic of all offerings.
But the worst part was the room, which is in dire need of updating. The shower is grimy, dirty and needs fixing. I had no hot water, because the valve to turn it past a certain point was broken. So I showered cold in the morning and told the hotel at checkout.
Honestly, Center Hotels has a few properties in town - for example the Grandi, so stay there instead: it is night and day, while also being at a great location.
Again, staff was amazing, location is great, but the place needs plenty of maintenance.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotels location was fabulous. The breakfast was basic. The noise around the hotel was extreme especially during the night. The karaoke from the surrounding places kept us awake on many nights.

Great place to stay in an amazing location near bars and restaurants. My only complaint is the hairdryer didn’t really work. It would turn on for 60 seconds and then turn off and you wouldn’t be able to turn on again. So it was not usable at all.

Perfectly situated. Friendly and dedicated staff. Only drawback is that the bus from the airport drops you - and picks you up - a few streets away, downhill, rain or shine. It was raining the morning we arrived.

This hotel was great and was right within walking distance to all of the shops and easy to get to the bus stations we needed for the tours we picked. I was a little disappointed in the breakfast there were not a lot of options and the WiFi didn’t reach our room.

Great location. I could walk to many activities. The tour busses picked you up within about 2 blocks. Summer might life is loud, but it's a fair trafeoff to bring located in the heart of the city.

Coffee and breakfast foods ran out at 9:30 and the staff wouldn't restock since breakfast is over at 10:00.
Irish Pub across the street played loud rock and roll music till 1:00AM with the doors wide open - So loud I could hear them with ear plugs and a pillow over my head. Then the trunks party in the street for another half an hour. Not the hotels problem but they should try and address it for their patrons.

Great location right in the city and very walkable to restaurants/tours etc. The rooms were not very clean and VERY small. (Two female friend travelers with a queen bed) The room also had a weird smell to it. No parking here unless you pay to park on street or find a parking garage quite a walk away. My husband and I stayed here for a few nights last week and had a great experience. The hotel's location is unbeatable, a 10 minute walk to everything in Downtown Reykjavik and all main bus stops! The room itself was all we needed, small but no major complaints, especially compared to other European hotels room we've stayed in. Staff were all very friendly and having free breakfast each morning was a huge bonus! The hotels rate was very fare compared to other in the area and we had 0 issues with noise, as other reviewers have mentioned! We'd stay here again!

The hotel couldn't be more centrally located. It is dead center in the middle of Old Central Reykjavik between Hallgrímskirkja Church and the Old harbour. It is surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants.
The hotel itself is a good value, especially with the included buffet breakfast. Rooms were clean and upgraded. Room had a large, comfortable bed, large wardrobe, wring desk and chair, phone and TV. Staff was more than friendly and courteous.
With that location comes a price. The hotel is surrounded by bars and restaurants and it is also on a major bus street, so it does get noisy at night. I had read this in advance and came prepared with earplugs.
Overall, it is a great hotel and a bargain with the included breakfast buffet.

I didn't get an upgraded room as promised. My room was overseeing the Irish pub which was extremely loud with live music until 3am every day.

This was a perfect spot for me as a solo traveler. The staff was friendly and accommodating to my requests. The location was perfect in my opinion for easy walking access to a lot of the downtown sites. My corner room view was terrific. And I would not hesitate to stay there again.
