Excellent place to stay, nice pool and hot tub, very clean and great service.

We had so many issues, such as the A/C was not able to keep up. The room was 81° when we went to sleep & that was with a fan in there too. The TVs didn't work in the room either. There was no soap stocked in the room. I mentioned all of this to the front desk at check ouy & the clerk acted like there was nothing wrong with all I listed. Used to be a nice hotel, so it's sad to see it so downhill. Definitely not worth the money

Place was very new and nice looking. Was turned off by the big price variance. Booked on line $143. Day we checked in $78

Our room was ok. The shower and sink didn’t want to drain so had to tell a staff person.

The staff here were absolutely amazing! They made the stay so great! The beds were comfy and there were good restaurants around (such as GAGA & HOO and casa blanca). Would stay here again if in the area!

The facet in bathtub was dripping when we arrived. Unable to shut off completely. Appreciate the cleanliness and quiet environment throughout the hotel.

Don't reserve a room here. They do not allow cancelation even during a weather emergency. I was stuck in another town due to major flash flooding. They were very rude about me trying to cancel and refused to give me a refund. My house and car are a total loss and they just said that sucks but we don't refund cancelations and hung up on me.

The facility is well managed and clean. It did not have the typical Motel smells.

The woman who checked us in was very nice and gave us lots of information. The pool was supposed to be open until midnight but was closed early due to improper chemical balance. Very disappointed after a long, hot day.

I took the trouble to call the facility asking about the hot tub. They lied. Doesn't look like they have any plans to fix it. This hotel was confused about service animal laws. I will not return.

The motel is clean, decent prices, good breakfast selection.

I liked how close it was to restaurants. Didn't like the spa was closed and it didn't say anything about it on-line. Breakfast was lacking in choices. Not much for presentation either. We'll stay down the highway next time for a better rate and a hot tub.

The stay was good,but the Hotels.com sent my reservation to a wrong email to for the hotel. I just glad they had an empty room.

This hotel and staff was the WORST experience I've ever had! The hotel advertised a hot tub ( big reason we chose and booked) and was verified when we called to ask about pet policy. Then was informed at check it was not available. Then was immediately verbally assaulted by a staff member after being checked in and heading to the elevator. Calling a customer a derogatory name while your on duty is not professional or curtious. Then being told by front desk thats just how she is. That response explains the whole horrible experience and attitude of the establishment. We traveled over 1000 miles to visit family for a couple days and when they came to the hotel so we could figure out our plans we were informed that we were not aloud to have visitors and was told to leave the property if we didn't like the policies. We spent less then an hour at this hotel. Has an absolutely horrible new owner and buissness person. The Holiday inn has a fantastic hot tub and is a great place to relax and sleep after a very long trip and horrible experience. Great service, staff and facilities. If you plan on visiting family in Fort Dodge. I highly recommend the Starlight Best Western. They are very open and informative on policies and family visitors. Fantastic people and guest services!

I arrived later in the evening, tired, hungry and ready for a quiet night!! All was provided to me. The doors do not open automatically, so the check in woman actually held the door for me. Also since I’m somewhat handicapped and an older Individual I was so pleased to have a ground floor room that was handicapped accessible. I usually ask for one but don’t usually get one. I was very pleased with my stay at this AmericInn.

This property is so easily accessible to the major highways. Also there is food available close by.

Rm 121 could hear back door open and close. Not a soft closure. Breakfast area was not clean, refilled unless asked, apple juice in orange juice, water in apple juice. Tables were not cleaned. Coffee grounds in the coffee. Hot tub not in working order.

Staff was friendly room was clean. I would stay there again especially for the price.

For whatever reason the other isnt working but i put a reservation for one this locations 1bdroom suites and online it showed before i booked 1 left after i booked amd paid for the room it didnt offer the big suite anymore, so perfect right.. WRONG when my family arrived i asked to confirm that we had a 1 bedroom with doors i was told yes well get up to the room and guess what not their suite we were given one of their king rooms with 1 bed and a half of a couch for my son to sleep on.. we ended up waking up at 230am and leaving bc the bed was uncomfortable and my son couldnt hang off the couch anymore and was in pain.. definitely wish id of looked around more or heck even stayed at one of the older motels it would of been better

No soap. Gave extra bottle of shampoo. It isn’t the same. One who checked us in not very personable at all.

The pool and hot tub were not working. Our toilet didn’t flush. Our door didn’t latch .

Don’t try to stay there if you live anywhere nearby tried to have a little staycation getaway with my wife and was almost denied getting the room I already paid for because we lived to close. P.s booked the suite with a jacuzzi tub and fireplace for our little romantic night away. The room was very nice. They should probably rethink the policy on allowing locals or make sure that locals are aware they are not allowed

Staff was not available at check in and took 15 for us to wait for the next shift staff to help us. Key cards didn’t work and when we reported it to the staff they said that happens. Took us three times to get a working keycard just to enter our room. Breakfast items ran out. Bathroom had cracked tiles and toilet was not functioning properly. Spent a lot of money and seriously didn’t get anything in return

I had a broken sink but I fixed it and toilet was acting up. Room was clean and my son loved the pool! We sat in hot tub one night the next day my son woke up with rashes on his legs and was itchy and that night hot tub was shut down due to high PH level. Wish we would’ve known that the day before. Person that checked us in wasn’t very friendly but the guy that worked the next night was very polite!
