Good location. Lovely room. Staff were brilliant: always cheerful, friendly and happy to help.

Excellent family stay. Highly recommended. Our only down side comment, the family room could do with an opening window, but as the room was so big, we coped with it. The Crown has a very interesting historical past.

On a main road, traffic light so not a problem with noise, good varied menu with excellent staff

The whole experience was wonderful. How would ask for a shower neither of a person in the rooms could use the bath due to health issues

We had another lovely stay at the Crown. Have been here a number of times and is definitely our favourite pub and place to stay. Rooms are comfortable, clean and warm and warm, food is excellent and the beer and pub environment also excellent. All of the staff are really pleasant, attentive and nothing is too much trouble, Recommend the Crown to anybody

We stayed in the family room and even with a 16 year old had plenty of space. Room was stunning. Good honest food and friendly staff.

Beatiful old inn with nicely decorated rooms. Pub area is very cosy. Although the road is quite noisy and woke us early.

We had a delightful stay at The Crown - the dinner menu & food in the pub was fantastic, the chickens on site in the pub garden entertained our little boys, the room was huge, comfortable and spotlessly clean with lovely touches such as milk and cold water in the fridge, a fan to keep us all cool (was a very hot day and night!), bath salts and excellent toiletries. The only negatives were overcooked poached eggs at breakfast, the fast road right outside being rather loud, and the TV Freeview was tricky to work and had a very slow remote which didn’t help. Overall we were very happy with our stay.

Some welcome tasty and healthy choices on the menu although the healthy breakfast bowl was very sweet (probably the berry compote).Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed but maybe a little tired.Overall excellent value and we would stay again.

Lovely old inn/pub tastefully converted into a great place to stay. All staff were friendly and helpful. Food and general service excellent.

Superb place, the pub is spectacular. Just the what you want from an English country pub! Very good food, & the room was delightful. Huge area, very comfortable. 5 stars!

Stayed at the Crown many times now and always love coming back. Staff are excellent and very friendly, food is always of a high standard and great beers (and gin) in the pub. Warm cosy atmosphere and very welcoming, with comfortable rooms. My idea of a proper county pub. We will be back again soon.

The landlord was very rude at times as if we had really inconvenienced him by staying there. Lovely room and very comfortable but the landlord let it down. Plus a 5pm check in time.

Clean and comfortable room. Excellent shower. Fridge and coffee / tea available. Meals very good , large breakfast sets You up for the day. Evening meals nicely presented. Very good value for money.

The pub is historic and features in Tess of the D’Urbevilles by Thomas Hardy: ‘ The Pure Drop’, nice beer garden. Good menu for lunch, evening and breakfast. Comfortable room and bed. Large wet room room suitable for disabled people. Unfortunately Room 7 was downstairs on the road side of the pub, so lots of traffic noise on busy road early in the morning despite additional glazing.
