The hotel is good and services are good, too. However, the swimming pool was frustrating, especially yhe jaccuzzi was occupied by many kids swimming and splashing water even though we complained to the woman in charge there. She didn't stop them splashing nor did she talk to their parents who were watching and shouting next to our ears. We wanted a tranquil and comfortable moment at the jaccuzzi but were seriously disturbed by those kids and parents who were obviously not hotel guests but from the neighborhood in the community. Quite frustrated.

Business stay; thruout hotel, staff's English was dismal and made it difficult and tedious to communicate with restaurant and front desk staff was very difficult. Asked front desk if they could mail a letter and no one knew what I meant, even after I showed the envelope. Business center was never open; barbershop, which is listed on spa floor, was no longer open, either. Not up to Nikko standards, sorry. In a town where good hotels are abundant, you have to do better.

NIkko Xiamen is an amazing hotel. The room is great, services are awesome, staff makes the extra effort to meet your needs. Would stay here again.

The service is fair but is a bit disappointed with its service and overall arrangement.

good accommodation nice price great staff and not far from the airport what is convenient to continue travel the next day.

No problems, really enjoyed my stay. Ask for a room facing the water because the view is lovely. If you have time, walk down to the beach, its only about 1/2 kilometer. The rooms are a bit dated, but nothing major--just regular wear & tear. What really stood out for me was the friendly staff, great breakfast, and convenient location. All worth my $90 for the night. I would certainly stay at this hotel again.

it has a washalble toilet , and the restroom is in a different place from the shower room, it is a surprise.

Location is quite good. Close to a streets with a lot of tasty local food. However its quite far from the major tourist attractions. Good for a quieter getaway.

A/C was not working in the room. The duty manager helped change the room after the maintainence dept.was unable to fix it.

Although breakfast starts at 6:00 am there was no coffee until after 7:15. We asked a few times and at one point they said they said don't serve coffee. After telling them we will be leaving in 15 minutes did they finally bring us our coffee which was just a couple minutes before they brought out the pot of coffee. Other that that bad experience, there was great choice at the breakfast buffet.

Walking distance to Convention Centre and quiet environment around the hotel, good for morning or evening walk. Well service hotel with very good restaurant options. Spacious bathroom and was surprised to have a nice and clean balcony in the room.

3 night stay for business in an executive floor room. Arrived on late flight into Xiamen - check in went smoothly around 11.30pm. Had breakfast included in room price - a pretty decent buffet affair, although coffee is kept in a hot pot and not as fresh as would have liked. Hotel is opposite International Convention centre and about 20 min walk from shopping/restaurants. Beach is 10 min walk away. Service was good throughout, some staff happy to chat in English in the executive lounge. Lounge was a bit restricted in times of food/drinks service but good quality snacks etc. Pool was large, clean and excellent for doing lengths. The gym had enough decent kit to get a good work out. Had dinner in the Japanese restaurant on 28th floor, food was good value but no sign of a Japanese chef - all were local, but nonetheless food was pretty authentic and around £30 to fill me up and a beer and sake included. Looby bar was large very quiet, around £4 for a glass of house wine and a decent meal around £10. Overall a good stay, not sure if the executive lounge is worth the extra - depends on how much you use it but good place to get on and do some work - WiFi throughput the hotel was sufficiently fast. Would return if business was in the area, although taxis into main centre of Xiamen were only around £4-5.

Stay away from this one. The are is pretty shady and the staff is pretty horrible. They simply cant communicate. There is plenty more better hotels in Xiamen at this price range.

This is a beautiful hotel, the rooms are very modern and beautiful, the location is nice, very close to the Xiamen Bay

The hotel is very clean. The staff very nice. Stayed in a ocean view room that comes with a nice balcony. Good!

Hotel is clean and spacious, food also nice. The most important thing is staff especially the porters are very helpful, they can help us to locate the village that we are looking for through their computer knowledge that make us found the particular village within minutes although the location is more than 2 hours from the hotel by car. I really appreciate their help and make our journey more meaningful.

The hotel is advertised as a 4.5 start hotel. This rating is fair. The price is a little cheaper than the big 5 star brands. The location is fine. Away from downtown but accessable by taxi. The hotel has been well constructed being a Japanese hotel and the quality of fitting etc is very good (eg showers, room quality). It has been well maintained whereas hotels generally deteriorate quickly in China. The rooms below 9th floor or so may look into adjacent buildings and this is where most basic rooms are located. We chose a luxury room for the extra few dollars and it was on the 20th floor. Not much of a view being china and the white haze but more importantly no-one looking in. The breakfast buffet, It has everything but depending on the time you go and day there may be some items a tad stale (Eg: crossaints one day great. next a bit rubbery) This is the difference btw a 4.5 and 5 star hotel. I will say though because you have a wide choice I had more than enough to eat. The staff are very kind and young. They do panic a bit at breakfast when you talk in English and run for the few english speakers to help them. All very well intentioned but. Overall I would say very good value and again fairly rated. If your the type of person whom needs 5 star service (all runs like clockwork so you can make your big meeting),maybe not for you but if you can accept a very good effort then you will be happy here and pleased you saved a few dollars.
