While this hotel looks amazing and makes for great photos, I'm sure, I didn't find it particularly comfortable. I had even requested a softer mattress at booking time, after a previous experience of a bad sleep, but I got a very hard mattress again. They gave an extra duvet to cushion the mattress but it didn't help much, and this was in a sea-facing room. The bedroom does not have a five-star feel, like the Park Hyatt or ITC Chola, both of which I also stayed in recently. They have amazing beds, and ensure the best sleep. Also they both have stopped using plastic, but in this hotel I lost count of how many small plastic water bottles I was given. My biggest disappointment was that the pool was closed, for an extended period, for reconstruction. This was never stated when booking. It was the main reason I had decided to re-visit this hotel. Never again. I could have got this hotel last week for only 90 euro, but I choose the Park Hyatt, at twice the price, knowing their pool is open and that I will have a very comfortable bed and good sleep. The breakfast is good. Constant flute sound in lobby area gets tedious after a while. Didn't see anyone sitting around lobby, so felt quite soulless, even though it looks amazing.

Property I lived in a room with sea view.. Its definitely one of the best property in Chennai with best view.. Staff all perfect and keep certain standard. They allowed late checkin and kate checkout which helps us a lot.

Hard beds - need soft beds, AC not very effective. Woke up sweating and with back pain. Temps do not go below 23 degrees when set to 20 degrees.

6 star hotel, excellent service and amazing property

We had an excellent stay at The Leela. Absolutely lovely hotel with beautiful grounds and interior decor. The food was really fantastic, and the room itself was luxurious and comfortable. We were treated with personal attention that was very thoughtful and went beyond expectations. In particular, Mr. Prityush (service) and Mr. Dinesh (dining) were especially considerate and gracious. Thanks to The Leela Palace, and we will plan to return!!

I would give it 100 stars if i could! This hands-down has been the best hotel i've stayed in so far. The experience was truly world class and the rooms were pristine and spotless. You would taste the true sense of hospitality once you enter their property all the way from their front desk staff till the staff who do room service. They were accommodative with all my requests, helped me tour the property and additionally helped me with late-checkout, complimentary cake for our anniversary etc. Look no further if you plan to stay in Chennai. Will definitely return!

Big shout out to Rose, Sathish & Rithika helping me with all my needs. Concierge’s were awesome with my constant touring weee looking after my luggages. During IPL week, plastic bottles were used. This weekend, I see only glass bottles in my room. I wish plastic was avoided.

Beautiful hotel, I was in Chennai on business and came into the hotel wearing very dirty clothing due to my work conditions and never had any issues with staff. Always very cheery and pleasant. The food in the hotel was always very good. And rooms very spacious and clean.

Excellent Stay

Though pricey the hotel was well located with excellent views of the sea and sunrise. Breakfast option was outstanding. However the bar is overpriced and the rooms were a tad too ornate and uncomfortably brightly decorated. The manager and front desk staff were a bit artificially nice. While hosting guests and treating them special may be one way to treat them care should be taken to be genuine.

Beautiful smiling faces that greeted us wherever we were around the hotel. Stunning setting, top class amenities and breakfast to die for! Can’t wait to come back to this amazing hotel.
