Let's start with worst part: the employee called Carla at the bar. Rudeness and arrogance characterise her the most. Not an ounce of professionalism and a sense of service... For someone who was running the bar in the morning, she was a bad pick.
Next: none of the spa amenities were working. The sauna was warm, reaching max 40° C (it should be minimum 60°C) and the Hammam at 36-39°C. Most of the jets in the jacuzzi didn't work and the water was cold.
Thank goodness the pools were open and working... And lastly, most DVDs of those we chose are scratched.
Putting that aside, most of the staff were really friendly and nice! The receptionists José, Nicole and Ofélia were very attentive and helpful. Lídia, our maid, was very professional and always asked if we needed a change of towels (cos we didn't need cleaning during our 6 night stay).
The apartment itself was comfortable, but needs to be modernised. Those late 90s headboards are something worth getting rid of...

The location of the hotel was incredible, it was really beautiful and has a view of the cliffs and the ocean. The hotel, Itself, is a little worn down and needs a little upgrading. All in all the bed was comfortable and it’s nice to have a little kitchenette. It also had a spa and swimming pool so you don’t have to go into town (far) unless you want to. I wouldn’t suggest driving yourself, especially if you’re not used to the roads of Madeira.

Rooms were smelly and in need of refurbishment - we booked the ground floor one bedroom apartment and had to switch to another apartment due to the odor. The second bedroom also had an odor but not as strong as the first one - recommend booking larger room on higher floors or requesting odor less room; hotel needs to refurb these rooms on the ground floor

Our accommodations were in a beautiful location . albeit at a high altitude which for some would require a challenge climbing stairs and hills. The amenities: pool, spa, tennis court, miniature golf, DVD library were excellent for our stay. Our unit itself was spacious and clean . I would definitely consider a return visit. The restaurant, pool bar and mini mart aptly provided us with delicious food and beverage although we did buy groceries and wine for our unit. Staff was friendly and supportive.

We spent one week in a one bedroom apartment in this wonderful property. The location is magical, right next to the Cabo Girao sea cliff with great views to the water, quiet, away from the hubbub of the towns, yet reasonably close to most sightseeing and a good base to explore the entire island. The apartment was clean, spacious and immediately felt like home. Nice bedroom, fully equipped kitchen and great balcony. Parking right below. The property has a convenient grocery store, two nice pools, a spa and several other amenities we did not use because we were out and about the whole day. Overall, we were very satisfied by this stay and it was excellent value for money.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was a good location to explore Madeira. It had great amenities for our family. Really liked the fact that the grocery store at the resort had very affordable prices (in some cases better than we found at the local supermarkets). Most of the staff we found to be very friendly. Our apartment was clean and well-equipped. They had access to a free laundry room and the resort has a shuttle and access to excursions if you don't want to book your own.

Perfect location in the center for the southside of the island, therefore an ideal starting point for all of your dautrips around the island. You do need a car as the nearest town/supermarket is a 15 minutes drive on the twisty and hilly roads. We really liked the spacious appartment (MC2) and the stunning sight over the valley and sea. This was way better as expected on forehand. The location on the hill 600m above the sea has a very nice climate in August, as there is no airco and we didn't miss it neither. The pools, spa, tennis, minigolf are fun althought some maintenance has to be done. The restaurants are ok, although we didn't make very much use of them.

There are two pools, and saunas, but they close fairly early. Lots of cars coming through the area to see Cabo Girao. The apartment was well decorated and comfortable, but ants were all over the kitchen. Impossible to store any food or cook. We had to place our completely empty, yet infested with ants, garbage bin outside, as soon as we arrived. The WiFi was very slow, unable to do any work. Plenty of parking.

Village Cabo Girao provided great value. While the property is a bit dated everything was very clean and in good order. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The onsite grocery was well stocked and prices were reasonable so we were able to be self-sufficient during our stay. The views from the property are outstanding but note that it is a long & winding road down from the heights. If you seek a quiet escape and do not need to be in the midst of nightlife, I can certainly recommend.

its on top of the mountain so you definitely need a car to get here, otherwise you can take taxi from major towns below but would highly recommend a car hire.plenty to do on site for adults and kids, excellent games room and excellent restaurant for dinner, reaonable price too compared to nearby restaurants and high quality.would like a bit more variety for the breakfast but its all fresh cooked everyday. nice view too.

We didn't get hot water the day we checked-in until the next day afternoon. That's not what you expect for room quality from a 4-star hotel. Even though we called the service on the first evening but still didn't get any help. The hotel later says it's our own responsibility, cause they did solve the problem by letting us use the shower in another room the next day. Generally, the staff is nice, but the facilities are old and unreliable.
This is the first time living in a hotel without running hot water on the cold winter day and the hotel insists that it's not their maintenance responsibility.

Beautiful location with great views of the sea and coastline. The hotel has loads of sports and games on site. The food in the restaurant and the poolside bar is delicious. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. There are walks of the levadas mapped out from the hotel for you to you walk. Local buses stop very nearby, so it’s very easy to visit other towns, including Funchal. They have a large DVD collection which you can use for free which was useful for entertaining the kids when we were in the room. The rooms were clean and well equipped. We had a great holiday and I would definitely go back.

Stayed in a good-size one bedroom apartment , with full kitchen facilities. There are great views from the apartment and large balcony area. The resort offers excellent sporting facilities too. It helps to be in good physical shape to stay here though due to its hillside location, therefore lots of steps everywhere. It helps too to have a hire car and one with a powerful engine: we were often in first or second gear on the steep access roads! An excellent resort though and one we will be happy to return to.
